CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: THE DARK WILL

WRITTEN BY BLACKQUEEN

CRYSTAL HAVEN

The door swung open wide, and with purposeful strides, Draven and his guards made their entrance. His countenance was as cold and aloof as ever, while the council members all took their places, seated and attentive.

Perched atop the upper chamber, Lucifer couldn’t help but wear a devilish smirk as he fixed his gaze upon Draven.

“How dare you grace this place with your icy presence? Have you completely lost your manners?” Lucifer taunted, prompting a hot glare from Draven.

“Seems like he’s looking at me as if he wants me dead,” Lucifer added, goading Draven further, who clenched his fists in response.

“Don’t worry; given the chance, I’d gladly rid the world of you,” Draven retorted, prompting Lucifer’s laughter.

“Be careful what you wish for; not everything goes according to plan,” Lucifer responded smugly, settling back into his seat.

“Dawson, you stand accused of using the forbidden flower. For what purpose?” The oracle inquired, and Mr. Dawson rose to his feet.

“My lord, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I did not use the forbidden flower!” Mr. Dawson pleaded.

“Lies! Wicked lies! You employed those flowers to kill people, my people!” Draven roared, slamming his hand on the table.

“How dare you falsely accuse me? If I recall correctly, I am the rightful ruler of the lower creatures. Why would I want to harm them?” Mr. Dawson retorted, leaving Draven visibly annoyed.

“Isn’t it obvious? You plan to dethrone me,” Draven shot back, and Lucifer couldn’t resist a smirk.

Standing up, Lucifer elicited a soft sigh from the oracle. “It’s going to be a long day,” the oracle murmured to himself.

“What makes you think Mr. Dawson would want his once-loyal citizens to suffer? From the beginning, demons, foxes, ghouls, and goblins have been mistreated. And who’s responsible?” Lucifer asked, turning around dramatically.

“All because of this man!” Lucifer pointed accusingly at Draven. “Ever since this half-mortal, half-immortal creature set foot here, it has been nothing but trouble,” he continued, and Draven furrowed his brows.

Anger was building within Draven, but he knew better than to do anything reckless. Giving in to his impulses would only lead to his downfall.

“What are you trying to imply?” Dracula, another council member, inquired, causing Lucifer’s annoyance to rise.

“Learn to keep your distance, don’t interrupt me or add a single word to what I’m saying, bloodsucker,” Lucifer snapped, rolling his eyes.

“Now I understand why your father sent you down here—to suffer like a mere mortal,” Dracula jeered, and Draven chuckled darkly.

“Don’t you dare remind me of that incident. And I may be living among mortals, but I am a god in my own right,” Draven yelled, causing the ground to tremble slightly.

“God? You’re nothing but a worthless fallen angel—nothing,” Dracula mocked, further fueling Lucifer’s anger.

Lucifer’s face contorted into a beast-like form, with seven horns sprouting from his head. “You think transforming into this scares me?” Dracula sneered mockingly.

“Enough!” The oracle’s booming voice echoed through the room as he struck his staff on the ground. “Lucifer, revert to your original form, and Dracula, refrain from further provocations,” he commanded, and Lucifer returned to his normal appearance, smirking mischievously.

QUEENSLAND ESTATE

Noami was gently wiping Arizona’s face when the door swung open, revealing Luther’s entrance into the room.

“Any improvements?” Luther inquired, drawing nearer to Arizona. He tenderly took her hands and kissed them.

“I’m waiting for you, please get out of your dreams,” Luther murmured, a hint of concern in his voice.

“It’s okay, I believe she can do it,” Noami responded, comforting him with a soothing rub on his back. “She’s strong, anyways,” she added, causing Luther to sniffle.

“How are you doing?” Luther turned to Noami and asked.

“I’m okay, nothing much. I just wish Zona gets better,” she replied, and Luther hugged her tightly, his emotions pouring out in tears.

He wept like a child while Noami gently stroked his hair.

“Shhh, it’s okay,” she whispered, cupping his face. “It’s gonna be alright, I believe in her. She’s strong,” Noami said and kissed Luther affectionately.

“Thanks,” Luther muttered, his gaze fixed on Arizona.

Arizona was in such a weakened state that she could hardly blink her eyes continuously.

“Lelia,” Edward called her by her other name, a sinister smile playing on his lips as he relished seeing Arizona so feeble and near death.

“It’s good seeing you pay for your sins,” he taunted, running his hand through her hair.

“Does it add to your joy?” Arizona asked, her breathing slow and labored.

“Of course, it does. Look at the people you’ve hurt; they deserve vengeance, and I am giving it to them,” Edward said, callously kissing her neck.

He tightened his grip on her hair and slapped her cheeks. “I want you to feel how I felt when you burnt me alive!” he declared, causing Arizona to cry out in pain.

“You abused me,” she muttered, trying to muster some strength.

“Abuse? Having sëx with my beloved wife is called abuse?” he sneered, his eyebrows furrowing. “Once I’m done with you, we both will perish in hell,” he added, his voice tinged with dark amusement.

Despite her agony, a dry smile curved on Arizona’s lips, and she shook her head. “You’re going nowhere. Hell is too good for you,” she defiantly replied, staring back at him.

“I don’t mind, so far as you’re perishing with me,” he said with a chilling smile.

He retrieved a dagger and viciously stabbed Arizona twice, making sure she felt the excruciating pain.

“Ahhhhh!!” Arizona cried, her head moving back and forth in agony.

“How does it feel?” Edward asked, cupping her cheeks. “Too bad your newfound love won’t save you anyway,” he whispered before removing the dagger from her body.

He placed it on a nearby table and stood up. “I have to go back to my fortress. I think my little friends are missing me already,” he grinned like a devil before disappearing from the scene.

“Why can’t we get out of our illusions?” Arizona’s beast weakened voice growled.

“I don’t know, let’s just hope someone helps us,” she muttered, closing her eyes, enduring the pain and hoping for salvation.

••••••••

Alpha Lucien and Morgana rummaged through Edward’s house in search of the magical map, but it appeared to have vanished without a trace.

“Are you two searching for these?” Edward taunted, descending the stairs with an evil glint in his green eyes.

“Hand over the damm map,” Morgana demanded, and Edward smirked.

“Why don’t you come and take it?” he sneered, goading them.

Without hesitation, Morgana rushed towards him and landed a powerful kick to his head, causing him to stagger back.

Meanwhile, Alpha Lucien transformed into a huge black wolf and pursued Edward, ready to stop him in his tracks.

Edward rushed towards Morgana and the started exchanging kicks and pouchs.

Alpha Lucien hit down Edward using his large paw to press his head. He grabbed his hands and broke them.

Ugh!” Edward grimaced in agony.

“Go on! Shatter those bones!” Morgana cheered, applauding Alpha Lucien.

Despite the pain, Edward mustered the strength to reach for a dagger concealed in his back pocket and hurled it towards Morgana.

“AHH!” Morgana gasped as the dagger plunged into her stomach.

Alpha Lucien handed a pouch to Edward and swiftly slit his neck before rushing to Morgana’s side.

As Edward rose to his feet, his blood dripped onto the floor, transforming into wriggling maggots. However, to his surprise, the wound instantly closed, and he couldn’t help but smirk.

“Unbelievable. You’re not alive,” Alpha Lucien stated, gazing at Edward. “It’s Lucifer and his dirty games. I’m not impressed.”

“It’s hurting me!… It’s burning me!!” Morgana cried out, clutching Alpha Lucien’s jacket. “Take me home, take me home,” she pleaded, and he carried her.

“It’s too late; she can’t survive it,” he replied with a smirk.

“I’m not yet done with you. I will be back,” Alpha Lucien declared, vanishing with super speed.

Meanwhile, Lilith was in the school cafeteria when she suddenly felt her heart pounding rapidly. Struggling to compose herself, the pain became unbearable, prompting her to push away her food and rush into the bathroom.

Her body felt feverish, and she hastily removed her shirt, revealing new tattoos that had mysteriously appeared on her skin. As she gently touched them, she experienced a momentary vision of Morgana crying on her bed.

Her breath caught in her throat, and she trembled at the revelation that these tattoos represented an energy transfer from someone else. The only possibility was her mother.

“No!!! No!!!!” Lilith screamed loudly, fleeing out of the bathroom in distress.

In that dimly lit room, as Morgana lay weak and vulnerable, Blake held her hand gently, trying to be her pillar of strength.

“Hey, you have to be strong for me,” Blake whispered, his voice trembling with emotions.

“I can’t… I can’t bear the pain,” she sobbed, and Blake embraced her tightly, his heart breaking at the sight of her suffering.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to protect you!… I’m sorry, my heaven,” Blake choked on his words, tears streaming down his face.

“Hey, you’re a big man, don’t shed those tears,” Morgana managed to say between her tears, reaching up to wipe away his sorrow.

“I will make sure he pays for doing this to you,” Blake vowed with a mix of determination and heartache, pressing a tender kiss on her hand. He bit his lip hard, trying to hold back the overwhelming tide of emotions.

“Of course, kick his @$$ and send him to hell, that’s your assignment,” she managed to muster a painful smile, her strength waning. Blake nodded, trying to keep his composure despite the tears that refused to be contained.

As they clung to each other, the door to the room slowly creaked open, and they both turned their heads.

“Mum” Lilith whispered and Morgana smiled widely as hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

” Hey baby” Morgana muttered and opened her arms while Lilith rushed her and hugged her tight.

” Ahhhhh…what’s going on?” Blake asked cleaning his tears.

” It’s our baby Blake” Morgana replied and Blake’s heart skipped a beat.

He exhaled and kissed Morgana forehead. ” Thanks honey” he whispered and Morgana nodded.

” I’m so happy to see you before I died, I guess you got my tattoo” she smiled looking at Lilith body.

” Yes, and I h@të them” she replied and Morgana ruffled her hair.

” Be a good girl” she muttered and shut her eyes, allowing the rivers of tears to flow down.

” Morgana!!… Morgana!!!” Blake yelled and pushed her but got no response from her. His tears rolled down uncontrollably as he kept trying to wake her up.

” Mum…mum” Lilith called but there was no response from her

She’s gone.
