Chapter 46
Logan stands in front of the mirror and adjusts his neck tie; he grabs a perfume and sprays it on his body in haste. He was late for work, why wouldn’t he be late if he was busy the whole night making love to Orla. Yes, they had sëx the whole night and he didn’t regret any part of it.
Logan caught her scent first before he heard the door open and he turned around with a smile. She had left right after she woke up and he had not seen her since then.
“Looks like I beat you to it,” she teased as she cat walked to him in her formal attire.
The smile on Logan’s face disappeared immediately and that got Orla worried, she looked anxious after his change of expression.
“What is wrong? Is the outfit not okay? Should I have it changed?” she asked with a worried look.
“No, it is not that… um, it is just that I… um,” he stuttered, not sure if to say it or not.
“What is it Logan, you know you can talk to me,” she cut in.
“Yes, I know that… well, I forgot to tell you earlier but I just think you shouldn’t come to the office for now,” he announced.
“Oh,” she muttered. “Really?” she asked sadly.
Logan sighed in hesitance. “Yes, but I don’t want you to feel bad about it, it is really nothing serious. I was able to contain the scene at the office yesterday but I just don’t think it is wise for you to come back there to avoid further embarrassment. Don’t get me wrong, it is not like I don’t trust you or something, I just feel like it is the right thing to do,” he explained.
Orla smiled weakly, perhaps a forced one. “It is okay, I get you… and I understand, you are right, I should stay back. It is just that I will feel lonely without you,” she confessed.
Logan smiled and came closer to her, he cupped her cheeks and pecked her forehead. “It is alright, at least you still have my annoying sister till evening, she will go later in the day and I might be back by then, just don’t let her irritate you too much,” he replied with a grin on both sides.
Orla chuckled and looked down, and then she nodded. “Alright, I will try not to miss you too much,” she said shyly.
“Hahaha, what happened to the crazy girl that I picked up from that brothel? You have become very shy, quiet and emotional these days that I barely recognize you. When did the Baddie become a softie?” he teased.
Orla laughed. “You should answer that question, I have no idea what you did to me but you turned me into this person,” she accused and poked him hard on the chest.
Logan laughed as he moved back. “Alright, I need to go now, just make sure to take care of yourself… I will call the workers when I get to the office and ask them to resume as soon as they can.”
“No Logan, please don’t… just call back the females only for the meantime, please,” she pleaded.
“Okay, sure, wh@tëver you say, you are Luna after all,” he replied and she blushed.
“No, I am not, but I will be soon,” she replied and kissed him before turning around to leave.
“Was that a goodbye kiss or an assurance kiss?” Logan asked teasingly as she walked towards the door.
“Oh, no it is none of that. It’s a punishment kiss for leaving me behind, now you have to get those lip gloss signs off your face,” she chuckled and walked out.
Logan turned to the mirror immediately and groaned, she had painted his face with her lip gloss, and how did he deserve any of this?
He grabbed a face wipe quickly and used it to get rid of the paint on his face, and then he picked up his suit from the bed.
Logan was well known to always love formal attires, tux and suits in particular. His wardrobe was filled with them and he wore them to even parties. Well he wasn’t a party person but the few parties he attended, he wouldn’t miss to dress formally.
As he stepped out of the room with his car keys, he looked towards Orla’s room and there was silence there. Well, it would have been noisy if his sister was inside, looks like she was up to something.
Hazel had slept in Orla’s room which originally belonged to her although there were so many other rooms in the mansion. Well, she was used to that one and she loved it more, Orla had to share with her when she woke up this morning.
Speaking of Orla, Logan was still worried about her, he knew that she wasn’t happy with everything going on, especially about her addiction and neither was he. Logan wanted to help her out and really quick, he was ready to do wh@tëver it would take to give her peace and happiness again.
After yesterday’s experience, he knew that he needed to act fast or he might lose Orla forever. If she succvmbed into depression, then it wouldn’t be long before she attempted to take her own life again, he wouldn’t let that happen.
He needed to take bigger steps immediately and he knew exactly where to start. Hopefully, before the day ends, he might be able to find a permanent solution to her problem. He wanted her to be able to enjoy sëx, to see it as the average people saw it, and not as a necessity to stay sane.
He understood the pain she had to go through doing things against her wish, she was a slave to lust and sëxual cravings and he knew what it felt like to be a slave; it was a horrible experience that he wouldn’t wish for anyone.
He wanted Orla to have sëx because she wanted to, and not because she needed to. He wasn’t just fighting because he didn’t want to see her with other men, he also wanted to give her the power to say no, he wanted to give her freedom and independence from her urges.
So that whenever they made love, he wouldn’t feel like she was doing it because she couldn’t say no, he wouldn’t feel like she was being forced by her feelings and desires; that was the kind of life he wanted for his mate, a peaceful one.
