” Nothing ” Sonya shrugged her shoulders.
” Sonya I’m not a child definitely I’m not blind, I
see everything that is going on in this house.
What is going on between you and Dior” Mom
asked inquisitively.
” Mom there’s nothing between me and Dior we
are just good friends” Sonya said.
” Ohhh you are just good friends ”
” Yes”
” Actually you didn’t like this guy but all of a
sudden you are now good friends” Mom
exclaimed.
” If you are forced to be with someone you don’t
like you will start finding something nice about
him. So Dior is a good person how would I be
hating on him for no reason” Sonya said rolling
eye balls.
” Actually a nice person ”
” Huh yeh”
” Sonya… I hope is not what am thinking? ”
Mom yelled.
” Mom I don’t know what you are thinking I’ve
told you want is there”

Mr Gibb and Dior inside a car driving as they
talked.
” The doctor report is out and they say
everything is fine now” Mr Gibb said.
” Yeah I’m happy, I can’t wait to go back to
school ” Dior said.
” Talking about school, would you like to stay in
base or would you stay here? ” Mr Gibb asked.
” I would love to stay here but you know I have
to stay there in base”
” So what’s the plan afterwards? ” Mr Gibb
asked.
” After I finish with my service I will come back
and get a good job”
” I didn’t hear my daughter’s name in all of
these, where is she coming to play? ” Mr Gibb
questioned.
” Huh? ”
” You heard me… Where does my daughter
coming to play” He asked again.
” Hmm I don’t know about your daughter ”
” In plain English asking if you like my
daughter? ” Mr Gibb interrogated.
” Hm..mm yes she’s ado..rable, good and nice I
like your daughter ” Dior stammered.
” You like my daughter or there is something
else you are not telling me”
” I’m just a security man grand son, just
dreaming within my means ” Dior said.
” Hmm that’s what fools do, they dream within
their means. Real man dream big”

Mr Gibb ÇOçked the door and walked into the to
and found his wife sitting on the bed.
” Hi baby ” wife said.
” Hi darling ” He walked and sat on the bed.
” How did your day go? ”
” Fine” Sat closed to his wife.
” Honey there’s something I want to discuss
with you ” Wife said with a worrisome
impression.
” Okay! What’s that? ”
” Don’t you think we should stop this kids now
they are getting to close to each other ” Wife
said looking worried.
” I don’t think we should stop them in anything
as far as they are not doing anything bad they
are adult, and they can make decisions for
themselves. Infact what we need to do is to
encourage them not discourage them” Mr Gibb
explicated.
” Haaaa encourage them with her status” She
pouted.
” We will encourage him to develop this status
you are talking about, focus on your daughter
and guide her, as far as there are not doing
anything bad we are fine” He assured.
” Okay but should we let them know what is
going on between them ” Wife said calmly.
” Yes we will let them know eventually, like I said
we are not going to contribute on anything
rather than guiding them, okay” He said
sedately.
” Eh..ah..er” miss Kitana stammered badly.
” Kitana’
” That’s my baby girl and she is still small”
” So she’s not my baby girl too” Husband said.
” That’s not what I’m saying and you know it”
She said uncomfortably.
” That’s why you are there to guide her”

Dior arranges his clothes into a bag to leave the
guest room to the gate Sonya sat watching him
looking sad.
” Do you still wanna return to the gate? ” Sonya
asked looking worried.
” That’s my place ” He replied.
” Your place is here” She frown unhappily.
” That’s your heart speaking not the head ” He
said.
” My mom wanted to know what is going on
between us ” She said.
” Your dad wanted to find out the same thing”
He added curiously.
” What did you tell him? ” She asked.
” Hm nothing significant and you? ”
” I couldn’t answer ”
” Why? ”
” Cause I don’t know what is going on” She said
softly.
He walked up and sat close to her on the bed.
” Sonya I feel something very deep for you, we
don’t have to give a name. We need to give it
time to grow”He said passionately looking into
her eyes.
” But my parents might not support this” She
frowned frustrated and worrisomely.
” Hey listen we are not in a rush, what will be
would eventually be” He curl her face softly.
” But I want you in my life” She sounded worried.
” Listen we are already in each others life we
just need time to arrange things ” He said.
” Will you fight for this? ” She asked looking into
him.
” No there’s nothing to fight for everything will
be fine” He assured.
They bend their heads slowly and captured
each other lips

In the sitting room, Dior and Sonya sat before
Mr Gibb.
” I will not ask both of you to stop but the heart
holds what he wants. Make sure no matter what
you do, you do not bring shame to both
families. Love is a beautiful thing and both of
you have grown to it. Dior is going to school
tomorrow and you are going to school on
Monday. Distance is s big deal but that should
not tear both of you apart that is s test of what
you feel for each other. Is in that saying all the
parents would support this but I will support
you. That shouldn’t mean you should break the
trust I have for both of you ….. Please don’t
break my trust” Mr Gibb said as they nodded
positively like kids.
He whiff and exhaled air fastly relaxing on the
couch. Dior and Sonya got each other hand
together smiling profusely.

Next morning as Dior removed his luggages out
and ready to leave while his grand dad walked
out too.
Sonya ran out and gave Dior a warmth hug.
” Do you really have to leave? ” She asked
looking at hugging tight.
” Yeah I have to go, I have to study” They held
each other hands looking at each other
passionately.
” How would I survive without you ”
” Hey you will leave, you will survive without me
you are a strong woman. Just stay true always
and stay true to yourself and stay for us okay”
Dior said.
” But you know it gonna be hard”
” I know , I know com’on now be strong ” They
hugged each other affectionately as his grand
father stood watching them.
Dior carried his luggages to leave and she called
and he dropped them as she held his hands.
” You will wait for me….. and I will wait for you”
Sonya said with so much love in her eyes with
a melted heart.
” And I will return for you” They hugged each
other tight warmth, Dior found Mr Gibb walking
up he disengaged immediately waving at him
shyly.
Sonya turned seeing her dad standing crossing
his hands on his back watching them with a
smile on his face putting on his eye glass.
Dior took his luggages and walked out the gate
neat and humbly.
Sonya ran and meet her dad hugging him and
sobbing like a baby while the dad consoled her.
