“For a while? How long have you known the truth?”She asked wanting to confirm if he just found out the truth today or if he has known for a while now.
“Ever since that day at the office. The day you took care of me. I heard what you said Arabella”He confirmed calling her by her full name.
“You knew since then and you didn’t say a thing? ”
“I didn’t say a thing because I wasnt sure. You words weren’t clear enough for me to understand and so I decided to know more. I decided to keep shut just so I could know why you were living two identity and I found that out tonight. Your Fiona biological mother”Gerald said.
“I didn’t want to lie to you. I was separated from Fiona as soon as she was born. I won’t deny that I felt less burdened with her not around but I wanted to keep her with me. I wanted her by my side and when I found her again. I wanted to come to you but there were some rumour about you then” Arabella told him.
“What rumour?”
“That you were cold hearted, mean and strict. Thinking that you might not give me the chance to see or be with Fiona. I decided to fake my way in. I had asked for a few months vacation from my recording company but when your offer came for my modelling career . I had no choice but to do it since it’s the biggest one have ever gotten”
“And so i began to live as Bella the nanny and also as Ara the singer. You have no idea how stressful it’s been for me and I never wanted to decieve you Gerald. Decieving you and Fiona was the last thing I wanted but I had no choice” she finished sadly.
“Do you know that your the mean one here?”Gerald spoke up after being silent for a while.
“I waited. I asked . I wanted you to trust me and tell me the truth. Am someone who h@të lies but for you I was willing to wait until you’re ready to say it ” Gerald said and she stared at him with utmost concentration.
“I wondered what sort of punishment I could give you for your lies and have come to a conclusion”He said.
“Firing me as both Bella and Ara might be the best but don’t push me out of Fiona life. I just can’t accept that”She said, concluding for herself.
He walked the few distance that separate them to stare down at her.
“My punishment isn’t firing you. My punishment is this….”Gerald said pulling her into his arms and kissing her on the lips.
Arabella was stunned at first but she quickly adapt to the moment. Holding onto him while kissing him back.
It was a while later that they broke the kiss to stare silently at each other.
“At first I was angry but getting to know you and your story. I got to realise that some people lie just to be close to their loved ones. You’ve been through a lot Arabella”He said pushing back a strand of hair from her face.
She wasn’t expecting this reaction from Gerald. She had been expecting his anger but his gentleness surprised her. A gentleness which prompted her into kissing him again.
Gerald welcome her kiss as he cradled her closer . The kiss grew into a passionate one and the two fell on the bed.
Gerald pulled away to stare down at her. “No regrets?”He questioned and she nodded.
“No regrets”She replied as she pulled him down for a kiss which led into them making sweet love to each other.
