Gerald got back home to pick up some important file that he had left. He was passing past Fiona room when he saw her there.
Looking at his watch for the time. He went into the room.
“Why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be at your summer lesson?”He asked.
“Am not going” She muttered.
“I already told you that you have no option in this Fiona. The summer lesson is a must for you and You’ve been attending it ever since you started school. So why do you keep on being stubborn about it”He asked.
“I don’t feel like it and you should stop bothering me about it cause I won’t go”Fiona replied fiercely.
“Are we going to have an argument on it again?”He asked.
“Yes we are and if you keep on forcing me to go. I will run away”Fiona threatened.
“You really are impossible”He said knowing that their conversation will only lead to an argument.
“And where is Bella?”He asked her.
The reason why he had hired a nanny for Fiona is to prevent the quarel he has with her. Her nanny should be the one doing this not him. He thought as he brought out his phone to call Mrs Milly when he saw Fiona smiling.
Knowing her previous antics on the other nanny. He could tell that Bella disappearance is all her doing.
“What did you do to your nanny?”He asked.
“Nothing. I just made a deal with her” Fiona stated.
There were times when he wished that Fiona had been born dull. Her smart brain keep thinking of ways to get rid of all the nanny he his hired.
“What deal?” He asked.
“I told her to get me my teddy in the garage. Am sure that she didn’t succeed or better yet. Bruno must have bitten her” Fiona said talking about the dog.
Knowing how Bruno gets when ever he sees an outsider. He left her room heading to downstairs.
If she is lucky enough. She will get away from the dog but if luck isn’t at her side it will surely make mince meat out of her but either way. He can’t spend another money on treatment for another nanny only to be blackmailed to getting more. He thought as he got to the door only for him to hear someone scream and in that instant. The door opened and Bella jumped right into his arms while Bruno stood at the door way growling at her.
Arabella held onto Gerald while the dog kept on growling behind her. She felt his arms loosening around her and immediately she tightened her arms.
“Don’t put me down! Please. I don’t want to be bitten by the dog”She said as she held him more tightly.
“You don’t have to worry. Bruno is a harmless dog”Gerald said a bit amuse by the situation.
“Its doesn’t seem that way to me”She said as she turned to stare at the dog which barked at her
“Take me away from here”She cried out.
Gerald carried her to his study with Bruno still trailing after them. He shut the door right on the dog face putting Arabella at ease.
He moved her to a chair where he put her on it before calling for the security to come take Bruno away.
“He would be taken away soon”Gerald said assuring her.
“Thank you. Am sorry for the trouble”She apologised.
“I should be the one apologising. Fiona intentionally asked you to there knowing how Bruno reacts to strangers. Am glad that you are not hurt”He said as he sat on his desk starring at her.
For a while Arabella held onto the last words he said. He was glad that she wasn’t hurt. Was he worried about her? She thought as she kept starring at him.
“If you had been hurt. You would have demanded for compensation and would have tried to take me to court just to get more money out of me”He stated destroying every good notion Arabella had of him.
He hadn’t been worried about her but had been worried about his money.
“Am not like that!”She yelled at him.
“Really? You won’t be tempted to get money out of me when you decide to quit like the rest” he asked.
“I won’t. Your money isn’t that precious and let me tell you this. There is no way that am going to quit. So if you think that am going to do that. Then you should stop thinking about it”She stated as she got up.
“I really hope so. Fiona can be very determined and from what I know. She doesn’t want you here” Gerald said.
“That’s too bad cause am here to stay and I will be staying for a long time and there is something I would like to discuss with you about Fiona” She said as she moved towards him.
“Am listening” he replied waiting her to begin.
“I heard that you’ve hardly been paying her attention. Not giving her your attention is the reason why she keeps on acting this way. Can’t you pay her more attention after all she just lost her……”
“I decide what to do with my niece. You have no say in that. All you have to do is to take care of her and I think you should start that now” He said dissmissing her.
“You really are impossible”She muttered under her breath but that didn’t go unnoticed by Gerald.
Arabella walked towards the door only to stop when she was about to open it.
“What’s wrong?”Gerald asked.
“The dog. It’s still there” Arabella said feeling scared all over again
