“Dude! What’s up with these two? Pinch me,maybe I’m dreaming” Derek said,his eyes not leaving the two couples in front of him.
“This definitely has to be a dream” Dalton replied.
They just can’t believe it.
Like,how did that happen just within a day?
Annika and Dexter, dating all of a sudden.
Could it be that Annika was also in love with Dexter?
“Now I get why she was mad at Dexter when she caught him with Lira, my instincts were right” Dalton said,and Derek chuckled.
“It’s crazy, but I love them together. They look too cute together,don’t they?” Derek asked.
“They do,man…but this kiss is becoming too much,they are disturbing my single life. It’s not fair!” Dalton said.
“Idiot!” Derek laughed and slapped his head.
While Dalton and Derek still stood in total confusion, Dexter and Annika were still kissing seriously.
After few seconds, they pulled away, with Dexter smirking at his friends.
“Hi jerks,are you still confused and surprised?” Annika said,smiling at them.
“Confused is an understatement, Miss cray cray. We are thunderstruck” Derek replied her, and she giggled.
“See you later,Boo Bear” Annika said,smiling.
Dexter smiled too and kissed her nose and forehead before she left,heading to her Office.
“Boo Bear? They’ve already given each other pet names?” Dalton asked,taking off his glasses to stare at Dexter who wasn’t saying anything.
He just pocketed his hand, and handsomely stood,smiling at them.
Even he himself, still can’t believe it that he and Annika are dating.
^^ DEXTER’S OFFICE ^^
“Don’t you two have work to do this morning?” Dexter asked,as his friends kept persisting.
“Dexter… How the hell did it happen? Just talk already, jeez!” Derek said, rolling eyes.
“It turned out she also, was in love with me. She was even the one who confessed it first to me” Dexter said.
“Woo! That’s quite shocking, but sweet” Dalton and Derek said.
Of course it’s quite shocking. Who would have thought that Annika was going to fall for Dexter one day.
In fact,who would have thought they’d both fall in love with each other.
Those two have never gotten along,right from Highschool,and their fight continued when they met each other again.
So,it’s really shocking.
“We are glad you both finally expressed your feelings for each other, rather than keeping it to yourselves” Dalton smiled and Dexter did too.
They went quiet after that,until Derek spoke first.
“How are you,man?” Derek asked, staring at his friend with great concern.
What happened at the family dinner night, still play in his brain.
He just can’t get it off his head…Dexter being asthmatic without them having any clue. Plus the Wendy,and calling off the wedding thing.
No wonder Dexter got angry whenever they remind him of Wendy. Especially when he told them that he’s in love with Annika, and they were like…”what about Wendy?
They even went as far as calling him a p**sy Lord. Mocking him all the time that he called off his wedding because he doesn’t want to get stuck with one p**sy.
Now,they feel real bad for judging him blindly.
Though,part of this is his fault, cos he never opened up to them.
But,if they had kept asking and persisting, maybe he would have told them.
“I am fine, man” Dexter replied simply. He stretched out his hand,taking his bag from his other desk.
He then brought out his laptop and placed it in front of him,opened it and typed in his password.
While he was doing this,Dalton and Derek kept staring at him like he was performing some magic.
“So,you’re asthmatic and we had no idea” Dalton started.
“It is what it is. Life goes on,man” Dexter smiled.
How can he be smiling when he has such a life threatening health condition?
He doesn’t act like one who is battling with asthma. He just does his things and lives his life,without worries.
Well, who said you always have to be worried when facing a particular situation?
“We are so sorry about your health condition,dude. If someone had told us you’re asthmatic,I’d have beaten the hell out of that person” Derek said,feeling for him.
Dexter chuckled and shook his head.
“There’s nothing to be sorry for, buddies. I am fine,and doing perfectly well,stop feeling bad for me” Dexter replied and they smiled.
“So,Annika is your baby now” Dalton said,throwing him a soft punch.
“It’s the best feeling ever, trust me. I never felt like this when I was with that Bîtch. I just hope she doesn’t break my heart, cos I’ll die if she does, swears” Dexter said, swiveling his chair round.
“I don’t think Annika will do such a thing. I think she loves you too,for real” His friends said,and he smiled.
“Thanks, buddies. Now,leave! You’ve over stayed your welcome.
I need to get to work” Dexter said and they chuckled.
“See you later,be safe, okay?” They said,and left.
After the left,he picked the telephone and called an employee.
“See me in my Office” He said, and hung up immediately.
^^WRIGHT’S RESIDENCE ^^
“Now I own the house. Finally! Some peace and quiet, no more taking blames for that stupid girl” Gloria sat on the dinning table, sipping her tea slowly.
Justin left for work just few minutes ago,and right now, she’s the happiest person on earth.
She’s so happy Annika has finally left her father’s house for her.
The house belongs to her now.
“I still can’t believe that girl escaped death. How was she able to do that?” She asked,taking another sip.
“Oh,let me guess. Her silly and useless dog. But not to worry,it isn’t over yet.
“As long as she’s still alive,Justin will never love me the way he should. She has to get out of the way” Gloria smiled devilishly.
^^GRAHAM’S RESIDENCE^^
“Mmmm…wow,Avery.This tastes so good. You finally know how to make Birria tacos well,mmm”Brielle groaned in pleasure as she takes another bite from the Birria tacos Avery made.
Avery had always wanted to make them as sweet as ever,but she just kept messing it up every time.
Well,not today,cos she made the best and Brielle is really enjoying it.
She has peace of mind now that Marther is not around. She wouldn’t even sit there to eat peacefully,if she was around.
Marther would have made it very uncomfortable for her,so much that she would stopped eating that same food she’s enjoying right now.
“I told you this’d taste better than the rest” Avery said,feeling happy and proud of herself.
“You did,and you were right” Brielle chuckled,taking another one to start eating.
“Jeez,Brielle! Are you seriously planning to eat another one?” Avery laughed,looking at Brielle in shocks.
“What,I love Birria tacos a lot. This used to be my sister an I’s favorite” Brielle blurted out,senselessly.
“Wait,what?” Avery furrowed,looking at her in both shocks and a little tingling sensation of happiness,because of what Brielle just said.
Could this mean Brielle is starting to regain her memory?
If it’s exactly what she’s thinking right now,then she’ll be way more than happy,and can’t wait for her dad to know.
“Wait,what nonsense did I just spew out of my mouth right now? Have I started losing it due to mom’s frustration?
“Where and how the hell did I arrive at this?” Brielle continued to mumble within herself.
“Brielle….?” Avery called slowly.
“Hmmm…?” Brielle answered,throatily as there was plenty tacos in her mouth for her to answer well.
“Are you alright?” Avery asked.
“Yea,sure. Is it about what I said? Don’t mind me,I guess this Birria is too yummy,and it’s making me talk Sh|t as a result” Brielle said and Avery chuckled.
After she had finished what was in her mouth,she stopped eating and her face suddenly became gloomy.
“What now,Brielle?” Avery asked when she noticed her sudden mood.
She got up from her sit and went to sit near Brielle who still wasn’t looking happy.
“What is it?” She asked again,looking all concerned.
“Why…why do I always have this feeling that y’all are hiding something from me?” Brielle asked,frowning.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Avery asked,pretending not to know what Brielle is talking about.
Avery has been answering from one question to another,and she always tries her best to make sure she doesn’t say what she’s not supposed to say just yet.
But Brielle’s questions are becoming too much,and Avery is always the one to answer them,since their dad is not always home.
“Why were you stopping mom from saying what she wanted to say to me the other day?” She asked,and Avery didn’t know what to answer her at that moment. But an idea quickly popped in her head.
“Oh,that? Actually,dad said he’s coming home this week. He wanted it to be a surprise to you,and so,he asked us not to tell you” Avery grinned nervously.
“Oh,okay….” Brielle dragged the word,smiling.
“Yea,silly. Now you’ve made me reveal dad’s little secret” Avery joked,rolling eyes and Brielle laughed.
While she was still laughing,her phone started ringing.
She picked it up from the dinning table where she had dropped it.
She checked it,and found out it’s her boss calling.
“Mrs Jay…? Aww,I guess she’s missing me already” She smiled.
“That’s your boss,right?” Avery asked,and she nodded before swiping green.
They spoke for few minutes,then ended the call afterwards.
“What did she say?” Avery inquired.
“She wants to see me,and she sounded so serious” Brielle said.
“Hmm,why do you think she wants to see you?” Avery curiously asked.
“I have no idea” Brielle simply replied.
