^^VERITY’S ROOM^^
“Hey….Anni,drop that!” Verity shouted as Anni took her bunny slippers, playing and chewing on them.
Anni wasn’t even listening. She just kept chewing and barking.
“I’ll just take you to your mama now,it seems you’re tired of staying with me” She giggled and Anni barked at her,wagging her tail.
She went back to chewing the slippers till she was satisfied. She then took one of the slippers in her mouth, and jumped on Verity’s bed,dropping it in front of her.
“Ew eww ewww. This is so disgusting, you silly dog!” Verity yelled, and Anni laid on her back on the bed,raising her legs high up in a playful way. Trying to tell Verity that,yes,I have won and there’s nothing you can do about it.
The slipper had dog drools all over it,and of all the places to drop it,was on Verity’s bed. Right in front of her.
Verity just moved away from there,and sat back,laughing at Anni’s silliness.
Anni followed her immediately,jumping on her. She started licking and rolling on Verity’s body,making her to giggle.
“Woof!” She barked,wagging her tail and licking Verity’s face.
The dog just feels happy in a way that Verity finds funny.
“Hey..stay still!” Verity commanded and she stopped playing immediately.
“Go take that thing you dropped there to the bathroom, silly” Verity said,and Anni jumped off the bed,picking the slipper with her mouth. She went into the bathroom and dropped it just as Verity said,then came back and stood on the bed,wagging her tail.
“Good girl” Verity patted her back,and smiled.
Yea,Anni is a trained dog,and she understands human language.
Funny how Annika talks to her always like she’s talking to a human being. Someone who doesn’t know would think Annika is crazy,but her dog understands everything she says,only that it cannot talk,she only barks.
Anni was still playing when Verity’s phone started ringing.
“Stop,Anni. Who could be calling me?” Verity asked no one in particular. She went for her phone,and saw that it’s an unknown number.
“Hmmm” She hummed, contemplating on whether to pick or not.
One thing she doesn’t really do,is picking calls from unknown numbers.
But her heart was seriously telling her to pick this one.
After deciding, she swiped green and placed the phone on her left ear.
“Hello…?” Her tiny voice rang at the other end,and what she heard next was a baritone voice.
She recognized the voice almost immediately, and her heart skipped.
It’s Nike!
Yes! She gave him her contact back at the grocery store earlier today. But she wasn’t expecting his call so soon.
She was even thinking Nike was never going to call,cos he’d forget ever meeting someone like Verity Klein.
“How are you,gorgeous?” He asked, and Verity blushed.
“Uhm,I’m fine thanks, and you?” She asked back,and he replied positively.
“You still remember Nike,right? From the grocery store” He asked.
“Yea,sure” Verity replied, smiling.
They spoke for long,laughing and giggling like they’ve known each other for long.
Nike is actually a jovial guy,and Verity felt like the call shouldn’t end,cos she was really having a cool time with him over the phone.
“Alright,gorgeous. I just called to know how you’re fairing, and also for you to have my number.
“Thanks for calling” Verity simply replied, smiling seriously.
~ Wait,why are you smiling so much like a crazy person? Jeez! Are you in love already? ~
Her subconscious self asked.
“What?! Are you crazy?” She asked her subconscious self,sounding so loud that Nike even heard her.
“What’s the matter?” Nike asked from the other end when he heard what she said.
Verity quickly held her mouth in embarrassment,reminiscing the nonsense she said.
“Oh,so sorry. I was actually talking to my younger cousin” She lied,and Anni barked that very moment.
Like a robot, Verity funnily turned to look at silly Anni who just made everything worse by barking.
“I will k!ll…..you” Verity stretched the word,and demonstrated with her hand,as she whispered to Anni who barked again.

“The weather is pretty cold, make sure to cover yourself well, okay? So you don’t catch a cold” Nike said,concerned.
Verity smiled sweetly at that,biting her lower lip.
“I will,thanks, have a pleasant night rest” She said and the call ended.
“Awww” She gushed, placing the phone on her chest,smiling and biting her lips. With her heart beating so fast.
“WRIGHT’S RESIDENCE”>>NIGHT
“I am finished,Vee is going to k!ll me. She begged and warned me not to tell anyone about it,especially her son,Roland.
“What do I do now? Ahh! I might just go crazy!” Gloria exclaimed,panicking seriously.
Since two days now that Roland visited and threatened her with a knife. Asking her to tell him everything his mother has ever told her,else,she’d die miserably.
She told Roland every d@mn thing she knows,and since then,
Gloria has been restless. She has even refused to go visit Victoria like she always did,because she doesn’t want Victoria’s problem,and she knows what Victoria is capable of.
She isn’t just panicking because of what she told Roland,but her secret is also with Victoria.
If Victoria finds out that her secret has been leaked,then she definitely will leak hers too. She will make sure she ruins Gloria’s life.
“But what was I supposed to do? He threatened me with a knife and a gun. What in the world was I supposed to do?
“Die,just to keep her secret safe? There’s no way I would have done that to myself”Gloria shrugged,as she sets the table.
She actually just made dinner for she and her husband,but Justin is in not in the sitting room.
He’s in their room. Even with the heavy rain that one could hardly see the road clearly,he still drove home like that.
“Wait,Victoria hasn’t even called to ask me anything. It’s possible Roland didn’t even take what I told him seriouiouly” Victoria smiled hopefully.
She dropped the jug of water and glasses on the table,then released a sigh of relief. Assuring herself that Roland hasn’t confronted his mom,and possibly may not.
She walked up the stairs,and entered their room where she met Justin sitting on their reading table.
“Honey,dinner is served”She said calmly.
“Start eating,I’ll join you soon” Justin replied lowly,dialing Annika again.
Gloria stood at akimbo,to look at him well,trying to figure out why he’s moody all of a sudden.
“Are you okay,Honey”She asked,touching his shoulder.
“I am okay,I’ve just been calling Annika,but she’s not picking” Justin said,and Gloria rolled her eyes and hissed inwardly.
“I can’t believe he’s looking like this because of his useless daughter” Gloria said within.
“Maybe she’s tired from work,and probably sleeping already. I believe she’s alright” Gloria pretended to care.
“I just hope she’s alright,or is she mad at me for what I don’t even know I did? I miss her being around.
“I miss my daughter” He added. He dropped the phone on the table and stood up.
“I guess you’re right,she must be sleeping already” Justin smiled,and Gloria charged inwardly like a wild beast.
“Annika this,Annika that. Even as she no longer live here,it’s always that useless girl.
I have to get rid of that girl,cos this man will keep thinking about her alone” She spitefully said inwardly.
