“Boo Bear…?”Annika called slowly as she entered his Office.
She had begged Dexter earlier that morning when he went to her Office to check on her,begging him to change his mind about Spencer,but he’s adamant about it.
He stood up from his seat immediately he saw her coming in and went to hug her.
“How are you? Did you throw up again? Sorry I didn’t come to check on you again”He said,hugging her again,and looking very worried.
“Yes,just once”Annika replied,hugging him tight.
She had really missed him,just within an hour of not seeing him.
“I’m sorry”He said,kissing her forehead.
Okay,why does he love to do that?
Anyway,Annika likes it! Her Boo Bear is so romantic,and might kill her with over pampering,especially now that she’s pregnant.
“Dex? Why did you fire Spencer too,he did nothing,yunno”She said,with her head placed on his shoulder.
“Spencer is a spy,baby. He’s working for my brother,giving him information of everything going on in my Company. They had been planning on how to bring down my Company all this while”He blurted and Annika broke the hug instantly.
“What?! Spencer? How could he do such a thing after everything you did for him. He’s such a backstabber”Annika unbelievably said.
Isn’t it the same Spencer he pays more than his salary?
There was a time Spencer’s sister was on the verge of dying because he didn’t have enough money for her surgery to commence.
Dexter was the one who paid for every dime and asked for nothing in return. Aside Ryan,Spencer is another worker closest to him.
And he had to pay him with a stab in the back.
“It is what it is,Ann. Doing good sometimes is not really a good thing,no one can be trusted” Dexter replied.
“Sorry about that,Boo Bear,I had no idea. But I somehow was suspecting them” Annika said,and he smiled.
“I had,too. Anyway,that has been taken care of now. What is more important are my babies! My big baby,and the little one growing inside her” Dexter said,and carried her,making her sit on the desk.
He went in-between her legs,staring at her face. Then his gaze drifted to her lips,and he smirked.
He leaned in immediately and started kissing her before she could blink.
“Hey! That’s cheating, I don’t like it!” Annika flared,pulling away and licking her lips.
“You don’t like it? Then why are you licking your lips?” Dexter jibed,laughing seriously.
“I…I
“Just say I love you” Dexter cut in.
“I love you,Boo Bear” She blurted unknowingly.
“Hey! You made me say that,you hypnotized me!” She scowled,getting on her feet.
Before she did,Dexter was already running away,cos he knew she was going to chase him.
“Come back,pervert!” She barked,running after him as fast as she could. Dexter was busy laughing his a*s out.
She suddenly stopped when she got tired,putting her hands on her waist,laughing.
“You suck,Dex. I swear,you are crazy!”She laughed,and Dexter laughed too.
“I love you”He chuckled,holding her waist.
“Does your waist hurt?”He asked,rubbing it.
“I just wanted you to excercise your body a little”He added,and she giggled.
“Thanks,baby,that did help”She smiled.

“Oh my! Dexter baby,you’re back”Janice gushed when she saw her son.
“You even came with her,aww”She added,getting up from her sit.
“Good evening,mom”Dexter and Annika greeted respectfully.
“How are you my darlings?” She asked them both,and they replied happily.
“My love,is it just me or you’ve added some weight,and you’re even glowing more. What’s the secret?”Janice joked,smiling cheerfully.
Dexter and Annika looked at each other and chuckled,knowing why she has added some weight. If only she knew that it’s her grandchild inside her that is making her glow.
“Looks like you just got back from work,mom. Where’s dad?” Dexter asked.
“He’s upstairs having his bath,should be down…oh,he’s coming already” Janice said,and they(Dexter and Annika) drifted their gazes to Robert,descending the stairs.
“Dexter?” He called,all surprised as he wasn’t expecting to see him.
“How are you,and how was your trip?” He asked warmly,after Dexter had greeted him.
“It was all good,dad,trust me” Dexter replied and he chuckled.
He suddenly turned to Annika,and his countenance changed for no reason.
Okay. Why the sudden expression on his face?
“Good evening,sir” Annika respectfully greeted with a smile,but he only replied with a hum,not looking happy at all.
Annika swallowed hard,and instantly,she became nervous and started sweating.
Dexter’s happy face changed immediately too,seeing what is going on.
He left his dad’s side and went to Annika,holding her hand tenderly. He noticed how nervous she suddenly became,and knew his dad was somehow hurting her feelings with the way he’s acting
“Ann,you’re okay?” He asked,even when he knew she’s not.
“I’m…I am fine” Annika stuttered,avoiding eye contact.
“Look at me,baby” He said,holding her chin.
Annika slowly looked at him,and she felt a bit better just staring at her baby’s eyes.
“Feel at home,okay? Just go stay with mom,I’ll join you soon” He said calmly,and she nodded.

“Dad,what was dad for?” Dexter asked,not smiling with his dad this time.
“Who’s she?” Robert asked instead,ignoring his question.
“My girlfriend…fiancee” He said proudly.
“Fiancee? Another gold digger?” Robert said it out,and Annika did hear him,cos they weren’t far from her.
When she heard that,her blood instantly dried up.
“Gold digger? He called me a gold digger?” Annika said inwardly,and like play,tears formed in her eyes momentarily.
“He called me a gold digger” She muttered.
Janice was actually not there when Robert said what he said. She went to the kitchen to get juice for Annika, only to come back and meet her sudden mood.
Annika was trying so much to hide the tears that were tempting to fall.
“Are you alright,love??” Janice asked,holding her hand,as she dropped the glass of juice.
“I am fine,mom” She feigned a smile.
“Are you sure? You don’t look as happy as when you just came here” Janice said,rubbing her cheeks this time.
“I am,thanks, mom” Annika said,and hugged her,shockingly.
“Dad! Annika is my girlfriend and not a gold digger, stop calling her that. You don’t even know her and you call her a gold digger?” Dexter shouted angrily.
“Have you forgotten so soon? Have you forgotten what Wendy did to you,have you forgotten she’s the reason you’re asthmatic today. I won’t sit and watch anyone causing anymore harm to my son,understood!” Robert shouted too.
They both left there,so were free to speak loudly without anyone hearing them.
“I haven’t forgotten about that,dad. I still remember everything, but she’s totally different from Wendy,okay? At least,give her a chance to prove that to you,rather than blindly call her a gold digger” Dexter glowered at him defiantly.
“Well,that’s what we thought about Wendy, until she became a devil!” Robert thundered.
“d@mn it,dad! I love Annika.
She’s my life,and I can’t do without her. I was the one who got hurt,I’m the one with the asthma,and I’m still the one in love with her,despite what I went through.
“I love her and want to spend the rest of my life with her” Dexter said,and his dad chuckled.
“That’s the last thing I’ll let you do, Dexter. I am not going to let anyone harm you again, all in the name of love! End the relationship, or I do it myself” Robert said.
“Never,dad! I am not a baby,and stop saying Sh|t!” Dexter yelped and left him angrily.
^^CENTRAL CITY MELROSE>>ANNIKA’S HOME
“Are you okay,baby?” Dexter asked Annika calmly.
They left his father’s house after the big fight, but Dexter didn’t let her know what happened. He isn’t aware,though, that she heard when Robert called her a gold digger.
“I am fine,I just need to be alone” Annika told him in a calm voice.
“Heartbeat?….
“Please” She she cut in, but he insisted again.
“Just go,Dex! Go,please” She almost started crying.
“Okay,baby” He replied sadly and kissed her forehead.
“Go in,while I watch you. I will call you before I get home,alright?” He said,and she nodded,then left.
He watched her till he was sure she’s in already, before leaving.

“A gold digger” she muttered,immediately she entered.
How can Robert call her a gold digger,does he think she’s after his money?
Does he have any idea how much she loves his son? Does he know she can give her life for the sake of Dexter?
Annika started crying instantly.
She even started regretting and thinking she has made a mistake by getting pregnant for Dexter.
“A gold digger” She muttered as tears rushed down.
“Why do I feel like I’m not alone” She suddenly stopped crying and asked, but her question wasn’t answered.
She stood up,and started walking towards her room,but was hit by someone from behind and she blacked out instantly.
Anni started barking and barking,trying to drag them away from unconscious Annika,to a point where it bit one of the assassins.
“Füçk! He cursed, and kicked it hard,mercilessly sending it to the ground.
Anni wailed in pains,and started barking again, as they took Annika away.
^DEXTER’S MANSION^
“What the Füçk! Anni…what,you’re badly hurt! What are you doing with Ann’s phone?
“Where’s Ann?” Dexter asked,but Anni only barked,and wailed. She dropped Annika’s phone in front of Dexter and kept barking weakly.
“What happened to Ann? Where is she?” Dexter asked continuously. He’s already losing it,and he’s going to lose it more if no gives answers to his question.
“Ann!!! He screamed.
