“Ann!!!”Dexter screamed as he watched his Ann,lying a pool of her own blood. And behind Wendy and Annika,stood Roland,blowing air into his gun.
He’s the one who shot Wendy twice on the neck. Annika just screamed and fell with Wendy out of fear. Although,she actually passed out in the process,and the blood Dexter saw is Wendy’s.
But he thought it was Annika’s too,since they were lying very close to each other.
Roland had to take another route,cos he knew something like that was going to happen.
If they had trooped in like that,all of them,it would have been the biggest mistake ever.
Cos Wendy would have gotten the opportunity to kill Annika just as she had threatened to.
“Roland?” The 3Ds chorused,not believing what their eyes are seeing at all.
They stood perplexed, trying to understand what is really going on.
“I knew it! I knew he was up to no good”! Derek thundered.
“Ann!” Dexter called,when he remembered Annika lying on the floor.
They both ran to Annika,kneeling before her.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Dalton yelped loudly.
“Baby…Heartbeat,please wake up,I’m here for you,just open your eyes please” Dexter cried.
“You monter! I am going to kill you with my….
“Chill,she’s fine. She just passed out,out of fear.
“I only shot Wendy,not her.
Just hurry her up to the hospital”Roland told Dexter,and he just kept staring at him in disbelief.
“Wait, what?!!” Dalton and Derek asked at a time.
Dexter kept staring at Roland and still couldn’t believe it.
And he definitely does not understand why he’s helping him.
Isn’t he the same brother that he despises so much? One who is always against him?
The same Roland who wants to bring him down by trying to ruin his Company? He’s the same person who is behind his asthma,his trauma and heartbreak.
That same Roland is fighting with him over their father’s biggest.
And it’s the same Roland who has just saved Annika’s life!
What really changed,and what exactly is he up to?
Dexter kept wondering,but even with all these bad qualifications accredited to Roland,he still is the hero here who have just saved his Heartbeat’s life.
And he couldn’t be more prouder or grateful.
“Hurry up now” Roland said,jolting Dexter out of his thoughts.
“Thank you”Was all Dexter could say as he carried Annika in his arms,hurriedly leaving the place. Annika actually had a little of Wendy’s blood on her clothes.
“I am so sorry this had to happen to you,baby. But you are fine now,and I’m never going to let you out of my side.
“I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me for actually leaving your side when you asked me to. I swear,I will never try such,ever in my life again” Dexter cried lowly,and kissed her forehead.
One of the things he had missed doing to his Ann.
It feels like a dream to him,having Annika in his arms. Although,she’s unconscious,but he knows and believes his baby is alright,likewise the one inside of her.
Though he doesn’t know what the baby’s condition is,inside there,but he believes and trusts God.
“I’m sorry,baby” He said again for the third time. He opened the car door,and gently,he placed Annika in the car with care.
After that,he closed the door,cleaned his tears and rushed to his side,where he got in quickly and instantly drove off. Heading to the hospital as fast as he could.
He didn’t even wait to talk to the cobs that were outside.
How can he do that when Annika’s life is at stake. Nothing else matters to him right now,he’s just concerned about his baby,and she’s the only one that matters to him.

“I honestly do not know what to say,Roland. You really shocked us all.
“Thank you for saving Annika’s life. We were all rendered useless as we were left with no idea on what to do next. Thank you for coming just in time to save her,Wendy was really going to waste her life if it weren’t for you.
“Thank you” Dalton gratefully said.
What Roland did still amazes them. Though,he had given them hope of trusting him when he told them about Annika’s whereabout,but they didn’t know to what extent this was going to be.
Roland only smiled,and said nothing.
“Thanks,dude. I thought you played us,when we looked around and couldn’t find you.
“I personally thought you fooled us. Yunno,once a bad guy,always a bad guy” Derek joked and he chuckled.
The two cobs that were in with them,came in with three other cobs to carry Wendy’s dead body.
She was still in her pool of blood,lying lifelessly on the cold floor,with more blood gushing out.
Now,that’s what she deserves. That’s what every evil person deserves.
“Thank you so much,Officers. We really appreciate your help,thank you” Derek thanked the cobs who took Wendy away.
“It’s our duty,Mister Derek,there’s nothing to thank us for” One of them said,smiling as he shook hands with the three guys.
“You were indeed a hero,thank you for thinking fast,it wouldn’t have ended this way,if not for you. You did a great job” The Officer appraised Roland,and he just couldn’t stop smiling.
So,this is what it feels like to do good.
This is what it actually feels like to be a good person.
His mom had been deceiving him. She brought him up this way,made him believe that the other life he used to live was the best,if you really want to succeed in life.
She made him useless! But thankfully,now that he has found out about the truth,he’s retracing his steps back.
He’s trying to find the new him,trying to mend his ways and make the people he has offended forgive and trust him,just like they did earlier today.
“We should go join Dexter now” Dalton said,after the cobs had gone.
“Yeah,we should”Derek replied,and they started leaving the place.
As they reached outside,they met the cobs with the culprits.

They were all handcuffed,and walking to the police van like the criminals they really are.
