Adelaide watched as the spider passed the tree Lucian climbed and she exhaled in relief
“Your majesty,please come now. The spider left” She said
Lucian jumped down,breathing heavily and Adelaide immediately rushed to him
“Are you okay?” She asked and touched his shoulder
Lucian looked at her
“Did you see me running?” He asked and Adelaide immediately shook her head
“I didn’t see anything my king” She replied and Lucian nodded
“Good” He said and sighed out
“Let’s go now” Adelaide said and they both left

PALACE**
King Lucian and Adelaide entered the king’s chamber only to find queen Sofia and Yasmin there waiting. Lucian already removed the veil
Adelaide stood still at once
“Mother” King Lucian called
Queen Sofia took a glance at Adelaide before looking at Lucian
“Where are you coming from?? Dressed like this?” She asked
Lucian turned to Adelaide
“Leave” he said,Adelaide bowed at once and immediately walked out
King Lucian faced the queen back
“Have you been waiting?” He asked
“What do you mean? I’ve been worried all day” Queen Sofia said
“As you can see,i’m fine mother” Lucian smiled
“But still,it’s dangerous walking around without any guards…..”
“Mother” Lucian cut in and she stopped
“I will take my leave ” She muttered and walked out
King Lucian faced Yasmin and she bowed
“Good evening your majesty” She said
“Good evening Lady Matilda,I guess you’ve been waiting all day” Lucian said
“Yes,but don’t worry about me. I’m completely okay with it,I think you really need the fresh air your majesty” She smiled
“I’m glad you really think that way” Lucian smiled
“You look tired your majesty,can I at least pour you some water? I can do that” Yasmin said
“No I’m fine” King Lucian said and Yasmin nodded
“I guess you need some rest,I will take my leave now. Please make some space for me next time I’m here my king” She muttered
“I’m sorry I kept you waiting” Lucian said
“Goodbye your majesty” She bowed and walked out
She sighed out loudly
‘Does he even care about my feelings at all? How can he leave the palace with an ordinary maid and he won’t even act nice toward me??’
She continue talking inwardly until she Saw Matilda,she was on her way to the king’s chamber also
They both glared at each other as usual before walking by each other
King Lucian was just about leaving the lounge when Matilda entered
“My king” She called and Lucian turned
“Are you okay? Did you get hurt?” Matilda rushed her question with a worried look on her face while she tried checking him out
“I don’t think I look sick” Lucian said and she stopped
“I’m sorry your majesty…I’m just worried since I heard you went out with the maid” Matilda muttered
“So you think she’s going to hurt me?” King Lucian asked
“Yes,she might put you In trouble” Matilda replied and Lucian nodded
“I’m glad you’re fine anyway,you should take your bath and rest. I will help with that” she added
“You don’t have to…..”
“I have to and I’m going to,my king you told me you’re not angry with me anymore” Matilda snapped
“That’s right” Lucian said
“Then why haven’t you sent for me? I’ve been waiting for your calls but never got one,I’m really sad and bothered about it. It feels like you don’t want me anymore and you care about your maid more than me” Matilda muttered
“Are you feeling insecure because of a maid now Matilda?”
“You are making me feel this way,you don’t care about me your majesty” She replied
“Who said I don’t care about you? I care about you,so stop being extra or insecure” King Lucian said
“Then should I come over tonight? I miss you so much my King and I can’t wait to have you again,so please let me spend the night with you” Matilda said
Lucian nodded and she immediately smiled
“I will be here then” She said

KITCHEN**
Adelaide entered and met Eleanor and some other maids working,she walked to Eleanor
“Hey ”
Eleanor gasped immediately
“Adel! You’re finally back” She said and Adelaide nodded
“I heard you left the palace with the king,how was it? Everyone was worried especially the king’s ladies” Eleanor said
“King’s ladies?” Adelaide asked again
“Of course,Lady Yasmin and Lady Matilda” Eleanor replied
“Lady Yasmin….who is she to be worried about the king?” Adelaide asked
“Seriously? You don’t know?”
Adelaide shook her head
“She’s probably one of the lists of ladies who might get married to the king soon” Eleanor said and Adelaide sighed
“I see” She muttered when she remembered how she slapped her on the test day and the king saved her.
“Well for me,she doesn’t worth it” Eleanor scoffed
“What do you mean? She’s beautiful and young” Adelaide said
“A queen shouldn’t just be beautiful Adel,good attitude matters a lot,that’s why everyone love the mistress. Well I will be going with the mistress and other maids tomorrow to give the old people some foods” Eleanor smiled dreamily
“Wow,really?”
“Of course,I told you the mistress is really nice,she should be the queen not anyone else” Eleanor said and Adelaide bite her lips slowly
“Let’s go,I’m done” She muttered and they both walked out of the kitchen
“Have you seen Kai?” Adelaide asked
“Nope,haven’t seen him all day. I guess he’s finally getting busy,that lazy idiot” Eleanor chuckled
A maid stopped in front of them
“Adelaide,the queen mother want you in her suite right away” She said
Adelaide and Eleanor Exchanged glances
“Are you in trouble?” Eleanor asked
“I hope not” Adelaide mumbled before she followed the maid
Eleanor watched them as they walked away,just then Carl and Jimmy rushed in,Carl ran off while Jimmy stopped in front of her.
“Oh…Hi” Eleanor smiled softly
“You’re always smiling,I guess it’s an habit” Jimmy muttered
“You always see me smiling?” Eleanor asked
“Yeah,the other day I saw you with one of the guards and you were really smiling brightly,it’s the same smile right now” Jimmy said
“Oh,I guess that was Kai” Eleanor said
“Then,see you later” Jimmy said and walked away
“Smiling brightly? Me?” Eleanor touched her cheeks and smiled
