Echo giggled happily as she walked back to Jonathan’s room. Leroy’s words were replaying in her mind like a cassette.
“You’re amazing you just have to continue believing in yourself” The remembered it one more time and then her cheeks turned red.
She couldn’t imagine him saying that to her or was he really changing or he was just pitying her and then he would turn back to his old usual self.
She opened the door to the room and then she saw Jonathan pacing around with his both hands at his back.
When he saw her, his furrowed brows relaxed and then he took fast long strides to her.
“Where did you go? You need enough rest and you’re walking about aimlessly” He said but Echo scoffed.
“Says the person who got me hurt” She muttered.
“I didn’t really mean it.” He said and tried to touch her but she shrugged his hands off.
“Well at least you should have shown how sorry you are by looking for a way to heal me but you didn’t”
“Wait I did call for someone who healed you. What are you saying?”
“No you didn’t. It was Leroy who healed me” she said and Jonathan turned confused.
He doesn’t really understand what she’s saying now. He brought one of the best healers in the kingdom and now she’s saying otherwise.
“Is that what he made you believe”
“He did not make me believe anything I saw him do it”. Jonathan didn’t want to argue again with her so he just pulled her into a hug.
“I’m sorry for not staying there with you and also for hurting you” He said and Echo hugged him back.
“It’s okay but you really owe me ” She said and Jonathan nodded as she pulled away from the hug.
“So what do you want” He asked and Echo brought her Finger to her lips thinking of what she will say to him.
“Yeah….. I want you to prepare a very appetizing meal for me, I’m hungry” She said and rubbed her belly pretending to be famished.
“I want you to prepare it yourself cause I wanna see your skills” She said and then he sighed before taking her out of the room and they made their way to the kitchen.
Jonathan entered the kitchen with her and with a snap of his fingers some ingredients appeared on the table.
“You’re acting so confident. Are you sure you can cook” Echo asked as she stared at him.
“I can cook, trust me” He lied and Echo just nodded.
She could already figure that he didn’t know how to cook cause of the way he was handling the ingredients. He put them at the wrong time and he didn’t even cut the veggies properly.
She was giggling silently as she watched the way his brows creased like he was performing a very hard task.
The food hadn’t even boiled yet and then Jonathan brought it down. Echo went closer to take a look at the pot and then some things in it weren’t done but she didn’t say thing.
She let him dish the soup for her and then he handed her a spoon to her .
“Why don’t you taste the food first after all you were the one who cooked it” Echo said and shoved the spoon into his palm.
“Okay” Jonathan said and then he put the spoon into the plate of soup and he took a spoonful and brought it to his lips drinking it.
The moment the soup touched his lips he spitted it out immediately and that was when Echo bursted into a loud laughter.
There was nothing to say was particularly wrong with the soup cause it was everything.
“Why are you laughing?” He asked and then he pouted his lips making him look cute.
“Cause you prepared rubbish, Gosh!” She said and then her laughter died down.
“Now I know the reason why you told me to taste the food first”
“Hmmm I haven’t even tasted the food but from the look of it, I had already known” Echo said proudly.
Echo then took the remaining ingredients on the table since he didn’t use all of it and made another soup.
After she was done, she dished it in two plates and handed one of Jonathan which he happily collected.
Echo rushed the soup and within five minutes she had already finished while she failed to notice how Jonathan was watching her with keen interest as he drank his own soup slowly.
And he wouldn’t deny it, the soup was delicious. She was such a great cook. Was there just anything about her that had a default.
When they were done, they took care of the dishes together and then left the kitchen.
<IN THE NIGHT>
Soraya came to call Echo to come accompany her. They were sitting on top of a fallen tree and then there was a fire burning in the middle of them.
Both of them both had stick at her hands with a marshmallow attached at the tip and then they’ll stretched it towards the fire till it was roasted enough.
“Wow there’s going to be a full moon tonight” Soraya said as she stared up at the sky.
“Yeah I think so” Echo replied also looking up at the sky.
“You know I have a favor to ask you” Soraya said and then Echo turned to her.
“What’s it?” She asked.
Soraya fondled with her fingernails before speaking up, “You know I kinda have a crush on Jonathan but he doesn’t seem to look my way so I was thinking that since you both are close, you can help me talk to him” .
“Woah! I never knew you liked Nathan, but I don’t know if he’ll like you back but you both would make a really good couple”
“So would you help me talk to him. I really really like him” Soraya asked with a glint in her eyes.
“I guess I will help you” Echo said and Soraya jumped happily and then pecked her cheeks.
“You know you are really fun to be with” Soraya said and Echo giggled.
The started hearing some meow sounds close to them and then they saw a black cat with white spots. The cat had bruises all over its body.
Out of concern, Echo rushed to where the cat was and carried it.
“Echo what are you doing, drop the cat down we don’t know where it came from” Soraya said but Echo didn’t listen.
“Can’t you see how hurt the cat is, it needs attention” She said and began taking it into the castle.
Echo took the cat with her to Jonathan room and then she dropped it down. The cat came to her leg meowing.
Soraya joined her in the room and tried telling her to take the cat back but she acted like she didn’t hear her.
“Okay help me treat the cat and then I will return it back” Echo said.
“Well I don’t know have healing powers maybe you can tell Leroy to help you heal it” Soraya said.
<LEROY’S ROOM>
The full moon that was coming out tonight was like a very dangerous thing to Leroy.
His eyes first changed color to bright red and then his fingernails began to grow so long. He was about to destroy his face that was almost healed up.
His demon was about to take over. As the full moon was getting clearer in the sky, he brought his hands to his face and he began to scratch his face.
As his long nails was scratching his face, blood was gushing out and even filled his hands as he continued the process.
He was groaning in pain as he continued to use his nails to destroy his face over and over again and his groans got more louder.
His face was almost recognizable by now but he wasn’t in control of himself anymore so he could only feel the pains he was giving himself.
Suddenly the door of the room opened and then Echo came in and she gasped at the sight she saw.
Her legs just glued to the floor as she saw Leroy destroying his face.
The moment Leroy saw her, his eyes changed from its bright red and it turned more darker.
The demon in him began taking total control of his body and then he began transforming slowly and slowly till he turned into a huge beast.
It was just like the one Echo saw in her favorite book at home. Leroy was the beast at the beginning of the book.
Her mind couldn’t take it any longer and then her eyes snapped shut and she was about to fall but the beast sped to her just when she was about to reach the floor unconscious.
The beast looked at her and then it muttered, “Mate” before transforming back to Leroy.
And they both went unconscious in each other arms.
