Chapter twelve

Harley thought that she would really be okay after Cyrus rejected her but she wasn’t.
She had managed not to tear up as he watched him leave but when she got to her dorm and saw her roommates, she burst into tears.
She went on to tell them what happened.
“Falling for him was a bad idea from the start.”, Ruby said as she comforted her.
“I know that it wasn’t supposed to happen but I don’t regret it.”, She said.
“Are you just clueless or pretending not to notice? Lord Cyrus likes you.”, Emily decided to talk.
She really didn’t want to talk but seeing Harley cry so much made her to say what she has observed.
“What are you saying?”, Ruby asked and Harley paused to stare at her.
“It’s quite obvious that he likes you but he just doesn’t want to make it be obvious, if not do you see how he stares at you, he has countless reasons to kill you but he didn’t and he treats you differently.”, She stated and ruby and Harley looked at each other as if they were passing information to themselves.
“Is that true?”, Harley said and Emily nodded.
“But why would he want to hide it? It is not bad confessing your feelings to the person you like.”, Ruby asked and Emily just shook her head.
“Don’t you both get it? Lord Cyrus is different, he has so many enemies, he doesn’t want to have weakness. Though I don’t know what happened between him and Ariel but I heard that it was really bad because she was used against him.”, Emily explained and that was when Ruby and Harley reasoned what she just said.
“But no matter what I won’t betray him, I will always stand by his side.”, She said.
“That is what you should make him see, you should make him realize that you are different.”, Emily said.
“Yes I agree with Emily.”, Ruby said.
“Thank you so much Emily.”, Harley said and she nodded.
“I thought you were one rude and arrogant person.”, Ruby said Harley agreed and Emily glared at them.
“You guys were just too nosy for my liking.”, Emily replied.
“So how do I find out that he really likes me?”, Harley asked.
“Guys I have a plan, come here.”, She said and they quickly went to her bed.
She whispered to them and Harley shook her head in disapproval.
“There is no way, I am doing that. No please, think of something else.”, She said.
“That is what you will do, if you really want to know. No matter how cold a person can be, it would get to a point when he wouldn’t be able to hide his feelings.”, Emily said.
“Really? I think you are describing yourself, have you finally admitted your feelings for Alex?”, Ruby asked.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”, Emily denied covering her face with her duvet.
“She is dating Alex?”, Harley asked ruby.
“They are dating secretly and I caught them kissing.”, Ruby replied and Emily hit Ruby’s face with a pillow.
“You are a blabber mouth, we are not yet dating.”, She answered.
“But you both like each other.”, Harley said and Emily tried to hide her blush.
“Oh she’s blushing!!”, They teased her as they climbed her.

#Training ground
“Cyrus did you sleep well?”, Ember asked as she interlocked her arms into that of Cyrus.
“You don’t normally ask that? What’s wrong with you? You look a bit different.”, Cyrus said and ember blushed.
“Do I look more beautiful?”, She asked as she tucked her hair behind her ears.
Harley looked at them and glared hard at Ember.
“If only your glares could kill, ember would be dead by now.”, Alex said to Harley finally gaining her attention.
“I am not glaring.”, She denied and Alex just laughed.
“You are really a jealous type.”, He said and she only scoffed.
“So what about you? You are not jealous whenever you see Emily with another guy?”, She asked.
“Of course I am, Emily is the type that hardly relates, if I see her with a guy then I will get jealous.”, He said.
Cyrus just stared at both Alex and Harley, they have been talking since and they were even laughing.
He clenched his fist seeing Harley so happy around Alex, maybe he should have trained her himself.
“What could they be talking about?”, he wondered.
Ember looked at Cyrus and Harley.
She saw how Cyrus looked at her.
She clenched her fist ready to attack Harley but she quickly recovered.
She can’t attack her yet, she would wait till they go to their mission today.

Everyone was set for the mission and after some minutes they arrived to the location where they were informed demons were.
Harley improved a lot than the last time, she was able to attack and defend herself.
“Oh see who we have here.”, Magnus said appearing in Harley’s front.
“Why aren’t you with your lover? No — that shouldn’t be the question, why are you still alive?”, He asked and Harley just glared at him holding tightly to her sword.
“Cyrus must really love you to go back on his word, I am so curious to know what he sees in you, how about I taste you?”, He said shamelessly and Harley boiled in anger.
“Calm down dear, you shouldn’t get angry yet or are you still in virgin? You know — I would love to taste Cyrus’ woman.”, He said and laughed.
“That’s if you leave here alive.”, She said as she attacked him but Magnus was way stronger than her.
He just swung her, making her back him and he caged her in his arms.
He moved towards her neck and sniffed her.
“You smell nice, you will surely taste nice.”, He said and Harley struggled to free herself.
“Let go of me, you demon.”, She yelled.
Then suddenly Magnus disappeared with her.
Ember quickly followed them, she was curious to see what Magnus would do to her.
“What do you think you are doing? Why am I here?”, Harley asked when she found herself into an abondoned building.
“What do you think?”, He asked as he went towards her.
Harley tried to move back but she was glued to that particular place she was.
She was unable to move her hand, she was already beginning to panic.
“Let go of me you monster!”, She screamed as his hand trailed towards her body.
“Your lover is the only monster I know, he killed his parents, brother and his former lover, he has even killed a lot of people and you are calling me a monster.”, He said.
Then suddenly ember appeared.
“What do you think you are doing? Let’s just kill her now.”, She said and Harley gasped seeing Ember.
“Ember? You are with him?”, Harley asked.
“What are you doing here? You aren’t suppose to be here.”, Magnus yelled.
“It’s too late now cos I am here already, let’s get rid of her now.”, Ember said.
“Please …. Please spare my life.”, Harley pleaded.
“I’m pregnant with lord cyrus child.”, She lied and they looked at her shocked.
“You are pregnant?”, Magnus asked falling for a little lie and she quickly nodded.
“That is another reason to get rid of you.”, Ember said angrily as she closed her eyes and the building caught fire immediately.
“We can use her and the baby against him.”, Magnus said to Ember.
“Let’s go now, it’s better she dies. I will have Cyrus all to myself.”, Ember said as she held Magnus and they both disappeared.
“Please don’t leave me here.”, Harley screamed as she tried moving her body but it was useless.
The fire was already beginning to get to her and there was smoke everywhere, she was already choking and breathing heavily.
Harley was finally giving up, at least she would die without any worry.
“Hailey…”, That same cold voice that makes her so nervous called her.
Even now, he still pronounced her name wrong.
“Cyrus …! Are you really the one?”, She asked and he raised his brow.
“Do I look like different?”, He asked still with his cold and huskily voice.
“Thank you for coming for me Cyrus.”, She said as she bursted into tears and rushed to hug him.
“Don’t touch me, I don’t ….!”, He didn’t finish his statement when Harley hugged him tightly like her life depended on it.
Well her life actually depends on it…
It was the moment she saw him that she was released and was able to move.
“Let’s get of here.”, He said releasing himself for her grip.
He carried her and they both disappeared.
