Chapter twenty-two

Harley thought of her plan very well, she knew that it was dangerous but she has no choice.
She will just have to be more careful.
Just as she has planned, age told Alex that she felt a bit uncomfortable with Cyrus and hearing all the terrible things he has done.
“Lord Cyrus isn’t a bad person, please just give him a chance.”, He said.
“No matter wh@tëver happens later in the future, please don’t leave his side, don’t listen to the enemy.”, He said and it only made confused.
“Why do you want me to be with him badly?”
“It doesn’t matter right now, please just stay with him and don’t leave him.”, He said.
“You sound like you are going somewhere, are you going somewhere?”, She asked.
“I just don’t know what his enemy might be planning right now, anything can happen.”, He said and she nodded.
She tried reading his mind but her effort was futile, it was just as if she doesn’t have any power in her.
“This is more confusing! If he truly care about Cyrus so much, he wouldn’t betray him right?”, she thought.

“Have you done what I asked you to do?”, Magnus asked Alex.
“What you asked me to do is not that easy, I need to look for the right time.”, He replied and Magnus gripped his neck.
“Don’t you dare betray me or else … You think you can fool me, you can easily poison Cyrus if you want to but you don’t want to do it right? I see that you don’t value the life of your parents and lover.”, Magnus threatened.
“Please let me do something else, let’s not poison him. You can look for other ways to bring him down.”, Alex suggested and he was slapped hard across the face.
“I think i need to kill one if your family to show how serious I am, I will go with your sister first.”, He said and Alex went on his knees immediately.
“Please I can’t do it, my conscience will hunt me, please don’t make me do it.”, He pleaded in tears.
“Kill his sister.”, Magnus ordered his guards.
“Please i will do it, I will do it.”, He said and Magnus ordered them to come back.
“I only give you three hours, if Cyrus doesn’t take the drink, then forget that your family and lover ever existed.”, Magnus said.

As Harley closed her eyes to sleep, she started seeing the future.
She hasn’t seen the future ever since her parents died and she was doing so now.
She always sees bad things, it either someone is in danger or someone is about to die.
She saw someone vomit blood on the floor and lay on the bed helplessly but she couldn’t see the face.
She tried to see the face but it wasn’t clear but it was clear that the person was a male.
“That must either be Alex or Cyrus.“, she thought and ran out of her room.
She needs to see the both of them.

“I have been wanting to talk to you about something important.”, Cyrus said as alex served the wine.
“What is it lord Cyrus?”, Alex asked feeling uncomfortable.
He wouldn’t be surprised if Cyrus suspects him as the soy betraying him but he just hope that he understands.
“Sit!”, He ordered and Alex did so without looking at lord Cyrus.
He gaze was just on the floor, he couldn’t dare look into his eyes.
He tried as much as possible to stop his hands from shivering but he couldn’t.
Cyrus just stared at him wondering if he was truly betraying him.
“I want you to find out something.”, He said and Alex nodded.
“There is a spy in this academy, I want you to find out of the person is.”, He said and Alex gulped.
Cyrus took the drink in his mouth about to drink it but then he stopped again.
“Are you betraying me Alex?”, He asked and Alex gulped again in fear.
“I know you can’t, I just wanted to confirm.”, Cyrus said and gulped down the wine.
All of it.
Alex couldn’t stop the tears rolling down his cheek.
“I’m sorry lord Cyrus, I am really sorry.”, He said as he went on his knees.
“I am sorry for everything, I don’t deserve to be your right hand man. I deserve to die.”, He said and Cyrus wondered what he was talking about.
Cyrus began to feel a bit uncomfortable, he was burning inside him… He was feeling hot.
He touched his chest, it was aching him so much that it became unbearable for him.
He felt a liquid drop from his nose and he looked at it and it was blood.
His eyes widened immediately he realized what was going on.
“You — poisoned my wine?”, He said like a question.
“Please forgive me lord Cyrus.”, He said still on his knees as he placed his head to touch the ground.
“Why?”
“Why do you have to be the spy? Why wasn’t it another person? Was I that terrible to you for you to betray me?”, He asked as tears gathered in his eyes.
“I am sorry, I was forced to do it. Magnus threatened to kill my family and Emily, he also threatened to expose me to you. I didn’t want to do it.”, Alex said in tears.
“Did Magnus send you to this academy?”, He asked, his hand still on his chest.
“Answer me!!!”, He shouted and alex nodded.
Harley finally got to Cyrus room, she had ran all the way from the girls dorm.
“Cyrus something bad wants to happen.”, She said but Cyrus Didn’t even turn to look at her.
His eyes were glue to alex and his own were glued to the ground.
“Answer my question! You know how much I h@të repeating myself.”
“Yes.”, He replied and Cyrus clenched his fist in anger.
“Cyrus your mark is …!”
“Both of you should get out, I don’t want to see anyone especially you, Alex. You just get out of this academy and my life — if I ever set my eyes on you, you won’t live to the next day…!”, He said and Harley wondered what happened.
“Cyrus hear me out, something…”
“I won’t repeat myself, I don’t want to see anyone right now.”, He said and entered one of his room.
“The academy is in danger and it is my fault, I am not doing this anymore, I can’t do this anymore. I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be an immortal. I’m tired of this punishment, I just want to die.”
“How long am I going to get punished for killing my family? I can’t protect anyone anymore, I just want to be a normal person, why does it have to be me?”
“Grandpa if you are looking for anyone to take of this academy, then look for someone else, I will prefer to die than go through all of this.”, He said as he started throwing things.
The mark changed colour and the torture began.
