“Is this where you live?”Isobel asked as she stared at the little bed sit.
“It is. Are you angry that it’s small?” Oliver asked.
“Am not angry and I can easily adapt to any where. It’s just my first time seeing a house this little. It somehow makes me feel sad”She replied wondering how people have lived in a room which is half the size of her bathroom.
“Why would you feel sad?”Oliver asked wanting to know why she felt that way.
“Have been living a life of luxury all this years while a lot of people struggle by living in this kind of place. It somehow makes me feel bad”She said again.
“You shouldn’t feel bad. It’s just the way people are born. Some are born Rich and some are born poor. All the rich have to do is to share some of their wealth with the poor”Oliver replied as he put down the take away food he bought.
“That’s a good thought. Not once did I think of that” Isobel said as a smile lit her face.
“As soon as I get back. I will do my best to give to the needy and I will also pay you back for your help”Isobel added.
“Why? Is it because am poor?”Oliver asked.
“That and also because you are my helper” she said sending a smile his way.
For a while Oliver was transfixed by that smile and he would have keep on being transfixed If he didn’t snap himself out of it.
” It’s best if you eat. You stop babbling if you eat”Oliver said as he pushed the take away food to her.
“It’s pork! Have been meaning to eat it for a while now but due to my trying to keep shape for the wedding. I had to keep to let go of it but now am going to eat to the fullest” Isobel said looking like a five year old kid being given a great treat.
“Thanks Olive” She said excitedly as she licked her lips before taking a pork to eat.
“I told you to stop calling me Olive”Oliver said as he stared at her eat.
“No, No , No. I like olive better”She replied as she chew a mouthful of pork before smiling at him again.
Oliver couldn’t help but to smile back due to the funny way her mouth is.
“I think I will be laughing more thanks to you”He whispered to himself
“Did you say something?” She asked having heard him mutter something.
“Me! Uh…..what do you intend to do about your Fiance and best friend once you return” Oliver said quickly.
“Those two will be cut out of my life for good. Ever since I was in high school. Have only looked at Peter but he never even noticed me and then I met Stephanie and we got close and all of a sudden. Peter began talking to me. Someone that had never noticed my existence. I should have noticed that something was going on between those two then but my love for him made every other thing dissappear”
“He proposed to me when we graduated from college and like a fool I began the wedding plan and Stephanie helped me. Those two smiled at me and assured me that my wedding will be something great and it indeed turned into something great”She said as she smiled sadly.
“I just couldn’t let them get away with what they did. I wanted a pay back and I said all those things at the wedding even though it never happened between us” Isobel Confessed and that relieved something deep in him.
What’s he thinking? Why would he be relieved at hearing that Isobel and her husband to be haven’t been intimate.
“Well wh@tëver happens. Have decided to move on from it all. Although am feeling sorry towards my father. Have made a vow to forget the whole thing and those two will be cut out of my life for good. Once I make my mind to cut someone out of my life. There is no going back to it”Isobel said determined.
“What you did back there was cool”Oliver said suddenly.
