Amelia agreed and she went for a little walk with Maya, because Maya insisted.
“Did you see how quiet the palace is? Without king Henderson. I miss him a lot. I built my relationship with him and i find it difficult to leave him. When he’s away i miss him.”
“Maya…” Amelia called. “Yes, princess Amelia”
“He’s a good man and a fighter. And i believe he will fight. I can’t wait to see him standing. I wanna kiss him and tell him that i love him so much and am not ready to leave for any man”
“Maya..am madly in love with this man. He’s my only one”
“Seriously? If he’s your only one. What i am to you?”
“You’re my bestie. My best friend. I love you so much”
“Huh! I don’t believe that” Maya replied, looking away. “Com’on am serious” Amelia replied and hit her arm playfully as they stood talking.
“I can only believe that, if you smile for me.” Maya replied, Amelia gave a sweet smile, that shows how much she loves her. She didn’t mean to yell at her, she was only carried away by things and the situation on ground.
They were heading to the entrance of the palace building, while Ethan was looking for them, he was told they were at the garden. They met each other and Maya smiled.
“Ethan…” Maya called. “Did you get to see him? How’s he doing?” She asked, glaring at him.
“Let’s go inside. We can’t talk about it here” Ethan replied. “Alright” Amelia mumbled and they went to the living room, everyone was seated.
“So tell me about him” Amelia said. “He hasn’t regain consciousness yet. But the doctor said that they flushed the poison out his system and requires that we should pray for him.
Your highness i believe that Henderson will be fine. Please don’t think much about this” Ethan said, calmly. Amelia nods.
“Can I go to the hospital today? I just want to see him” Amelia said. “You can’t go today. I told the doctor that I will come later to check on him” Ethan said.
“Alright..” Amelia replied and stood up. “Have you guys eaten?” Ethan asked. “Yes..” Maya replied, Amelia walked out.
Through out that Ethan did he’s best to make sure Amelia was happy. He instructed Maya to stay with her until the king recovers.
On the next day, Amelia insisted that she was going to see the king at the hospital, she went there with Ethan. But she couldn’t go in. She could see him through the glass. She broke down in tears, Ethan had to help her, he comforted her and they left the hospital.
She came back to the palace and Maya welcomed them. She took Amelia to her bedroom, some times she spent her nights in the king’s chamber.
TWO WEEKS LATER
Amelia, Ethan and Maya went to the hospital. Amelia went with Maya to see the doctor, some minutes later she left her in the doctor’s office. She met a nurse on her way.
“Nurse please am looking for the king’s ward, am his fianceé” Amelia said, in a calm tone. The nurse directed her to his ward.
She stared at her man who was laying down on the hospital bed, but couldn’t move his body.
She went on her knees, close to her man “Am sorry baby. I don’t even know the reason why am apologizing.” She paused and chuckled.
“Remember your promises you made to me. Hey guess what, followed everything you said. I promise you that i will always eat even when you’re away. I ate. Yes i did. I also ate before coming here. I love you so much Henderson” she said, she took his hand and began to rub it slowly.
“You always say that i made your life complete. Not just me, you made my life complete and think of you every minute of the day.”
“Henderson listen am pregnant,I know that you already know that am pregnant. It’s now five months baby. Please get up, i want you to see your child. Maya also calls my baby her nephew. And she said that he will be great like his father” Amelia chuckled softly.
She continued, “And i went to church before coming here, I feel good you know. It’s been awhile and father told me that my request will be granted. I feel very excited. Please wake up Henderson. Your palace is quiet, your guards and cabinets aren’t happy. Your grandma, she’s sad”
“She is very sad. Please get up. Please Henderson. Remember the promises you made to me…” She was still saying these words to him, when his hand began to move the nurse who walked noticed it, even Amelia noticed it.
“Please call the doctor” Amelia yelled. “Don’t worry babe the doctor will be here okay. Am here with you and I will always love you”
The doctor rushed in immediately,he asked Amelia to leave. He doctor checked him up some hours later, they were still in the hospital. They were sitting and Amelia was praying silently for him, the doctor came out with smiles on his face, they stood up as they saw him.
“How is he?” Ethan asked. “He’s fine, this is a miracle he’s great fighter and he survived” the doctor said with a smile.
” You can see him, please don’t make him stress himself, he needs rest” the doctor said. “Thank you so much” Amelia muttered, she was the first to walked into the ward.
Maya and Ethan,they went to his ward he was laying, He’s eyes were closed, they stood and watched Amelia as makes moves.
“My lord..”Ashley muttered she moved closer to him”My lord…” she mumbled in tears.
“It’s okay honey i should be apologising not you” Henderson mumbled. “Apologize for what?”
“For trying to leave you, despite knowing that you’re pregnant.” He mumbled. “Com’on it’s fine” She replied.
“please let me see my best friend” Ethan said. Amelia smiled and make way for him. Ethan moved to him and he smiled “Am glad that you are awake” Ethan said with a big smile. “Thank you..” Henderson replied.
“Good morning to King Henderson the great fighter” Maya greeted with a smile. “Oh wow! I didn’t know that you were here.”
“Hmhuh! You were busy with your love. A cry baby. Am glad you have woken up and i love the smile on her face” Maya said, with a smile. Henderson smiled.
“Ethan, what about my grandma?” Henderson asked, concerned.
“She’s at the palace. I will go tell her that you’re awake” He replied. “Alright, bro” Henderson mumbled and made a little adjustment while laying on the hospital bed. “You want to get up”
“No, sweetheart. Am fine” He said. “Okay!” She replied, she caress his cheek and gave him a kiss. “I love you..” She whispered softly to him. He nods.
“Your majesty, I will be going to the palace to tell the Her Majesty that you’re awake” Ethan said.
“Alright, i would like to have a meeting with the cabinets”
“That will when you get back” Ethan replied, sharply. “No. That will be when he recovers” Amelia interfered.
“Okay, your highness” Ethan mumbled and Henderson glanced at him. “I will take my leave, please take care” Ethan said.
“I will go with you. Since the love birds are now together” Maya teased. “Alright babe” Ethan replied and they left the ward.
“How’s our baby doing?” Henderson asked.
“He’s fine. We are 5 months now” She said, happily. “Wow! That means I spent two weeks in the hospital”
“Yeahhh! But my happiness is that you’re awake and fine. Are you hungry?” Amelia said.
“I’m good, besides am just recovering and the doctor haven’t said anything about food” He replied. “Okay..”
“Where you crying the moment you saw me laying here?”
“Who wouldn’t?” She questioned. “Hmm..” He mumbled. “I thought I’d lost you. So i went to the church before coming here and began to remind you of the promises you made to me.
You can’t just leave me like that. We will grow old together, we’ve alot of things to do in future. You can’t leave me like that” She mumbled and bow her head on the bed.
“Com’on! Am sorry babe” Henderson mumbled.
