“What… What are you… You saying” Newton stuttered.
” Keaton and the governor, we lost them Newton, we lost them” Ricardo replied.
Newton’s world crumbled a hundred times immediately, his jaw dropped and his arms fell.
He looked at the house and took a step closer, then he stopped.
He took another glance at it before retracting that step, then he ran crazily to his car.
He was in tears throughout the drive to the hospital that night.
He got there pretty fast, and he walked in slowly.
It took almost ten minutes before he could get close to the ward.
He kept hoping for it to be a joke, or better still a dream, he can’t possibly lose two important people at once, how will he live?
His foot was hitting the ground as he dragged it deeper into the hospital.
He finally got to the front of the ward, and met everyone crying.
Every single person has tears in their eyes, even the nurses are crying.
“She can’t possibly go like this!!!, She can’t leave doctor!!!, Please bring her back to life!!!! ” Francisco’s voice cried inside the ward.
Newton stopped, looking at everything silently.
Ricardo sighted him and walked to him.
“Newton” he sniffed.
Newton looked at him and laughed insanely.
“And why is everyone crying?, Who died?” He said senselessly.
” Newton… ” Kennedy came over, And Newton faced him too.
“You’re crying too?, Who the heck died!” He yelled sorrowfully.
” You need to calm down right now Newton, just….
“Keaton can’t be dead, right Francisco?, And not my dad either. Not my dad!! ” He yelled
” Newton….
Newton walked into the ward without halting for once, and his body shook when he beheld the two bodies.
Keaton’s body is beside the governor’s, their faces hasn’t been covered yet.
Ronaldo was holding Francisco down, keeping him from going wild.
Newton started staring at them, smiling slowly.
“Are they sleeping?, Huh?, Someone should wake them up and let them talk to me, I badly need to talk to them, please” he said, facing one of the doctors.
The doctor only looked on in pity.
“Keaton…. Kea… Ton wake up, Keaton!!!!” Newton finally shouted, climbing her bed.
” Keaton open your eyes and look at me for a bit, I need to tell you something please open your eyes!!”
He jumped to the governor’s bed too.
” Dad talk to me, look at me and call me the best son in the world again, dad please…. Dad!!!!”
” Keaton….. Dad… You both should stop joking and wake up this instant!!, Wake up and stop sleeping!!!! ”
Newton’s tears mixed with the blood that’s coming out of his nose as he screamed.
He even got confused on who to look at.
Keaton or his dad.
Everyone just watched as he swam in sorrow, calling their names to wake.
When it’s obvious they’ll never wake, he got down from the bed and laughed.
“I need to swim, I badly wanna swim” he said, still laughing as he started unbuttoning his shirt.
“Newton” Esmeralda’s eyes widened.
“I feel so hot, like very hot” Newton laughed again, flinging the shirt away from his body.
” I wanna swim!!!” He screamed, more blood escaping his nose as he started scattering his hair.
He started taking off his trousers too.
Kennedy and Ricardo rushed to hold him.
“You can’t do this, get back to your senses Newton” Kennedy said.
“I said I need to swim, I’m gonna die if I don’t! ” Newton wriggled out of their hold and continued trying to take off his trousers.
“Newton please don’t go mad, Newton!!!” Monique cried.
“Hold him please” the doctor said.
Newton took off his trousers and was about to run out of the ward when Kennedy and Ricardo grabbed him again.
Lady Sawyer came in immediately, and her eyes widened to see him almost naked.
“What’s up?” She faced the doctor.
“The shock must have made him lose his mind”
“I wanna swim!!!! ” Newton laughed and cried at the same time.
“I’ll sedate him” the doctor said and got an injection from the equipments tray.
He loaded it and gave Newton a shot on the arm.
Newton’s eyes closed, and he slept off immediately.
“Shift the bodies to the morgue, right now” Lady Sawyer ordered, wiping the tear that’s falling from her eyes.
“Yes, my lady” the doctor replied and called for the morgue attendants.
As they came in and started shifting the bodies out, Francisco held Keaton’s bed, kneeling beside it.
“Aren’t you really gonna wake up?, Aren’t you?, Please open those eyes, Keaton I love you so much!, Open up for me amor!, Please wake up baby!, Keaton wake up!!!”
” Cisco you have to let her go” Ronaldo drew him away from the bed, and he increased his tears.
” Keaton!!!!!”

Governor John Knight, the current governor of New York passed out as a result of chronic asthma, it’s the saddest news ever aired, because along with him, one of his twins… Keaton Knight also died of brain tumor….
The sad news filled New York and the cities beyond to the brim, it’s a sad night for the citizens as everyone who has a heart almost cried their eyes out.
Governor John Knight is the best governor they’ve ever elected in years, but his tenure has been cut short by his sudden death.
His burial was scheduled for the second day, and it has been declared as a day of grief, everyone must be in black to give respect to his soul.
Esmeralda came back home at past 1 and met her dad crying, she was expecting it anyways since he’s a very emotional person.
“I just wish he didn’t die, even when I was in San Francisco, I do hear about his good deeds, he’s so rare” he sobbed.
Normally, Esmeralda would have started trying to console him immediately, but she’s in a tight spot too.
Keaton is dead
Her dad is gone, and Kennedy talked about breaking up.
Her life is a total mess too, and it took a lot of effort to even drive home cos she’s tired of life presently.
She started climbing the stairs without minding her crying dad.
Mr Douglas stood quickly, then he rushed to hold her shoulder.
“Princess, tell me is everything alright?, Are you like this because of her death?, Or is something else the problem? ”
Esmeralda’s lips curved and tears came out of her eyes immediately.
” Meralda talk to me, no secrets” Mr Douglas said, and she nodded.
” Keaton is dead” she cried loudly.
” Let’s pray for her soul to rest in peace, that’s the only thing you can do for her right now” Mr Douglas said.
” Her dad died too” she sniffed tearfully.
” We should pray for his soul too, let’s pray” Mr Douglas replied.
” Newton was behaving mad, he lost his mind” she said.
” Huh? ”
” Kenny… Kenny h@tës me now” she proceeded.
“Kenny?”
Esmeralda nodded and continued crying as she narrated everything to him.
“He has every right to do that, I didn’t train you to be foolish Meralda, but I’m glad he stopped it before it could happen, now stop being a baby and calm down” Mr Douglas pulled her into a tight comforting hug.
“Dad!!!” She cried loudly.
