Chapter Twenty six
Louis got back to his tent only to find Peter there.
“Why are you here? Where is Rose?”Louis asked.
“In my tent. She said she doesn’t feel like sharing the tent with you tonight”Peter replied and immediately Louis turned to leave too but Peter stopped him.
“It will be best if you let her be. She looked stressed and unhappy. What exactly did you do? I thought you two were getting along well”Peter asked as he sat up on his bed.
“I confessed my feelings to her”Louis replied
“And she rejected you?”Peter asked.
“She did and she was angry. Angry that I confessed when I told her to get rid of her feelings for me “Louis said.
“She couldn’t have welcome you with open arms. You messed up too”Peter told him grimly.
“I did”Louis replied sadly.
“So, will you give up?”Peter asked.
“She doesnt want to see me. You staying here certainly proves it and besides am going back tomorrow”Louis said.
“But the school trip only ends at the end of the week. Why are you leaving?”Peter asked.
“Just got a call from mom. She has to talk to me about something important. So I leave tomorrow” Louis replied.
Rose layed on the bed brooding over what happened a while ago when she got a call from her sister.
“What’s up?”Rose asked.
“I told you to call me to gist me about your trip but you being you, I have to call as always”Bella said into the receiver.
” Sorry. I didn’t have the time”Rose replied knowing how nosy her sister will get soon .
“Really. You sound a bit dull. Is something wrong?”Bella asked.
“Stop exaggerating”Rose chided.
“I know when something is bothering you. Start spilling it. Who knows I might be able to help”Bella said.
Rose thought about it and wanting to know what someone else will think about it. She asked her.
“So your saying this friend of yours have had a crushed on a guy and when the guy found out he told her to get rid of her feelings for him but the guy in general returned. Telling her not to do as he says because he has fallen for her too?”Bella asked, rephrasing all what she said.
“Yes”Rose lied.
“She should just accept. She might feel that he is insincere but once she accepts him then she will get to know if he is sincere about his feelings”Bella replied.
“But isn’t it giving in too easily?”Rose asked.
“Who cares? As long as this friend of yours still feel something for him then she should give him the chance to prove to her that he loves her. If I were her, I will agree and get him to pamper me for the rest of my life”Bella replied.
“This is not a joke Bella”Rose admonished.
“Am not joking Rose. If you love him then just accept him. Give him a chance to prove to you that he loves you”Bella said suddenly.
“You really th…..now wait a minute. It’s not me we are talking about”Rose yelled at her.
“Do you think am a fool? I don’t know who he is but you should give him a chance sis. Who knows be might be the prince charming who will takes us out of this life we live”Bella said referring to a rich young billionaire.
“Just shut up and go to sleep”Rose retorted.
“Don’t hang up! Will you give him your answer tomorrow? Just say yes to him. Say…..”
Rose didn’t let her finish talking because she ended the call. She layed back on the bed thinking about what Bella said.
He loves her and there is no harm in accepting him and she has been hoping for something like this to happen. She had thought that it would take a miracle for him to notice her but he had and had also confess to her. Why should she let this opportunity slip away and she should stop kidding herself because she knew deep down that she wants to accept him.
Having made her decision. She got out of bed wanting to head to his tent when she stopped herself.
She wasn’t dressed properly and she can tell him tomorrow and also she could let him suffer through the night and relieve him tomorrow. She thought as she went back to sleep.
Rose headed to Louis tent. Fully dressed and ready to give him her answer too. She got there only to see Peter alone.
“Hello missy! Did you enjoy spending time in my tent?”Peter greeted cheerfully.
“Yes and thanks for lending it to me last night”She said as she searched around the tent for Louis stuff which were no longer there.
“Where is Louis?”She asked and Peter pulled on a sad expression.
“Louis is on his way back home”Peter replied.
“Why is he suddenly leaving?”She asked
“Turns out that his mother needs him. She already arrange for the flight which will be taking him to London where she is currently but If you want to talk to him and tell him something important before he leaves then I suggest you go after him. He just left a while ago”Peter said and on hearing that Rose ran out of the tent. Heading to the camping ground entrance.
Rose began to call him but there was no answer. The entrance was a few walking distance to the camping ground and so it took a while for her to get there.
She made it only to see a car leaving and though she called after it, chasing the car. It didn’t stop.
She gave up running and crouched on the floor thinking that he was gone when her phone began to ring.
On seeing the caller, she picked immediately. “Get out of that car! Don’t go. Am right here on the road side watching you leave. So stop the car!” She said, agitated.
She watched the car stop at a distance and Louis got out of the car. On seeing him, she began to run towards him while he did the same.
He met her half way and pulled her into a fierce hug. She stood in his arms, crying gently while she embraced him back.
“You jerk! How can you leave? How can you choose to leave for London?”She said hitting his chest as she cried softly.
“London? What do you mean?”he asked as he took hold of her hand.
“You are going to meet your mom in London. How can you do that when you confess to me last night? You should have waited to hear my answer “She said and his puzzled expression changed to one of a smile.
“Whoever made you believe that I was leaving for London certainly decieved you”He said as he wiped away her tears.
“Really? But Peter told me that you were leaving and…..”she stopped when she realised that Peter must have lied to her.
“Am indeed leaving but it’s not for London. My mom just arrived from her trip and she wants to see me before she leaves for her next trip”He said and she closed her eyes in embarrassment. Thanks to Peter lies she had made a fool of herself. She thought as she buried her face in his chest while he laughed.
“Am very grateful to Peter right now. After all his lies got me to see you before I leave”he said as he held her face to stare at her.
“Really? Were you sure you wanted to see my face? Remember you were already leaving”She chided softly.
“That’s because I knew you didn’t want to see me and besides I planned on going back home to think of ways to get you into my life again. I was already thinking about it that I didn’t notice your call earlier” he said as he gaze at her with love.
“Then I better let you leave to start thinking of ways to woo me”She said as she moved out of his arms only to be pulled to a tight embrace again.
“Just tell me what I want to hear”He whispered into her ear and she tightened her hold before saying it.
“I love you Louis. I never stopped loving you” she whispered into his ears and he pulled back to stare at her.
“What’s it? Did I say it wrong or……”She didn’t get to finish her sentence because he shut her up by kissing her.
Rose was taken back by his kiss but she opened up to him. Pulling him close while she kissed him back. She have secretly wondered what kissing Louis will be like and it turns out to be the best of the best.
He pulled away to stare at her before hugging her again.
“I love you too. Don’t ever doubt that”He whispered into her ear and she pulled him close while she grinned like a fool. Happy to hear him say that.
