Louis stopped the car right in front of the entrance to his house and the reason he had stopped was because of the man standing in front of the gate starring at it.
He got out of the car going to him to ask why he was there.
“You see am actually looking for someone here”The man replied.
“If you are looking for one of the maid then I suggest you use that entrance”Louis replied.
“But am not here to see the maid. Am actually looking for Louis Finnegan”The stranger said
“Then you are looking at him”Louis replied.
“Really? Your the one have been hoping to meet” The stranger replied with a mischievous smile on his face.
Rose got back home after school. She wasn’t working in Louis mansion again and so she had a lot of free time in her hands.
Luckily Louis have decide to leave. Deciding to keep himself safe for her sake and for his mother sake.
She walked into the restaurant about to head upstairs when she saw her mother running towards her. Looking worried.
“What’s wrong mom?”Rose asked.
“Your father! Your father has gone looking for Louis” she said.
“What! But he doesn’t know about Louis. He doesn’t even know that Louis is a vampire”Rose said.
“He found out yesterday. The only reason he came back Is for Louis. He told me about it last night but I thought… I thought….lets go look for him or it will be too late”her mother said as they both left the house in a rush.
The taxi stopped in front of Louis house and quickly Rose ran into the mansion with her mom trailing behind her.
She was heading into the house until she spotted Mrs Brad.
“It’s a surprise to see you. Have you change your mind about quitting?” Mrs Brad asked.
“I didn’t come for that. I came to ask about Louis. Do you know where he is?”Rose asked.
“He left some time ago and he was with a man”Mrs Brad said confirming Rose fears.
“Thank you”Rose said as she began to call Louis even as they went back to the taxi.
“He is not picking mom. Do you think Dad did something to him already?”Rose asked as she began to shiver in fear.
“Let’s think positive and that reminds me. I had put a tracking device on your father. Have always used it to know where he is whenever he leaves” Her mother replied.
“Then let’s track him down”Rose said hopefully..
Louis woke up to find himself all tied up in a chair. The last thing he remembered was talking to the stranger and then something was hit on his head.
“So you are finally awake?” the stranger asked as he stood starring at him.
“Who are you and why did you bring me here?”Louis asked.
“Why are people often taken like this?” he asked.
“To be killed. You are someone who shouldn’t live” he replied again.
“And what right do you have in saying that”Louis asked.
“The right of being your Slayer”He replied and Louis mind drifted off to Rose father.
“Somehow you managed to escape me but not anymore. All vampires need to be extinct and it’s my job to make that possible “He said as he pulled out his sword.
“Aren’t vampires human too? Not all of them feed on human” Louis said trying to pull out of the rope.
“Stop living a child dream. Vampires are dangerous and they will keep on feeding on human because they are beast. Beast that deserves to be killed. Am sorry kid but I cant sit back and let you go free threatening the life of innocent human. People like you are a threat to human and also to my family” He said as he carried his sword up about to slay Louis when Rose yelled out.
Quickly she ran towards them and stood in front of her father.
“What are you doing here Rose?”He asked.
“You can’t kill him dad”Rose said
“Why? Why can’t I kill this beast?”He asked.
“He is a young boy Jordan. Just leave him alone” his wife said as she also run into the ware house.
“He is a beast who deserves to die. Move away Rose!”Her father yelled at her.
“He is not a beast. He is someone I love father!”She said and it was enough shock that got him putting his sword down.
“What did you say?”
“I love Louis father. I love Louis a lot and I know that he ia a vampire before falling for him. He is not a beast and he is no danger to anyone”Rose replied to her father question.
“He is no danger to anyone. Why don’t you just stop with this slaying thing. Even though they are Vampires. They are also human”Rose mother added.
“Must I let him go free just because you say so?” Rose father asked.
“Yes but if you choose not to do that then you are just going to have to kill me first”Rose said challenging her father.
“Rose!”Her mother yelled out.
“Do you think I can’t do it?” He asked as he took up his sword again. Preparing to strike but Rose stood still not bothered about being hurt. Not even Louis call could make her move.
Her father stopped, starring at his daughter who stood protecting the beast behind her. Realising that she meant what she said. He put the sword down in defeat.
“Just stop this Jordan”Rose mother said as she took hold of the sword.
“You win”He said as he left her in the room before walking off with her mom trailing behind him.
Rose turned to Louis to remove the rope around him and they both hugged each other. Thinking that they had come close to death.
“You could have been killed”Louis said to her.
“He is my father. He won’t do anything to me”Rose said as she kissed him.
“So am I safe or is he still going to come back “Louis asked
“My father might be many things but he is a man of his word. He won’t try to do anything again”Rose replied happily and a while later the two left the ware house.
FEW MONTHS LATER
“Isn’t it pretty?” Louis asked as they stood at the restaurant balcony where Louis had booked for just them alone looking at the sunset.
“It is”She replied as she gaze at the beauty of the scenery.
It’s been months since that dreadful day. Just like she assure Louis. Her father didnt try to do harm. The slaying thing ended for him and he decided to stay home and help run the restaurant.
Rose had thought that her father will never grow to like Louis but with Louis visiting all the time. Her father had no choice but to accept his presence in his daughter life.
Louis mother had no problem with his relationship with Rose. In fact she was glad about it.
“You haven’t really told me why you brought me here?”Rose asked as she turned in his arms to stare at him.
“Just wait a bit longer”He replied.
“But why? Have been curious for a while now and what’s that box in your pocket?” She asked ruining the surprise he had wanted to give her.
“it’s meant to be a surprise”He said bringing out the box.
“Don’t tell me that you are planning to propose?” She asked “But am not ready for that”
“Don’t fret! It’s just a little gift I want to give to you. It’s like a promise of our love” he said as he brought out the ring.
“It’s beautiful”Rose gasp out as she let him put the ring on her.
“I hope that with this our love will become stronger and wh@tëver might happen in the future. We will face it together”He said and she nodded gently.
“I love you Rose. Thanks for coming into my life and making it worth living. I always thought that with me being a vampire. I would never get to be happy like the way a normal human will but with you here. I can be rest assured”He said and she kissed him softly on the lips.
“Am happy to have you too in my life. I love you Louis”She said gazing up at him with all the love in her.
“And I love you more”Louis replied as he kissed her this time and for a while the two of them forgot about the sunset and the people around them.
All they were thinking about is their for each other. A love which will forever last them.
