Jeremy sat face down in a restaurant where his brother works waiting for his brother, shortly Eden walked out and tap his back.
He stood up as they started walking away.
“But why did they fire you? Did you get into a fight?” Eden asked and Jeremy shake his head negatively.
“It was one drunk lady that the rude rich guy who broke my head yesterday wanted to take advantage of, I don’t even know why I get myself involved with her, I saw him take her outside and I stay back but I couldn’t just ignore,” He replied.
They are walking back home since they don’t have a car.
“And you find yourself Saving her?” His brother asked and he nodded.
“Exactly, I was so stupid to punch a rich guy, now I have lost my job, how will I afford money for your treatment?” He blamed himself.
“Hey, you don’t have to blame yourself, I still have my job remember? And we will manage,” His brother replied.
“Am very stupid, we hardly eat enough meal and now the only valuable job that buys your medicine is gone, I will have to lose you because of a stupid lady,” He said almost tearing up.
“I still have 1 year before it enters the last stage, you can still look for another job,” his brother said calmly.
“Am very stupid, what was thinking? Jeremy, you’re very stupid,” he added and his brother hold his hands.
” we still have 1 year to be together,” his brother replied.
“1 year is not enough Eden! I have to take care of you and now I have lost the only job I had,” he replied.
A car stopped in front of them, Adel and Margaret stepped down from it and he frown upon seeing them.
“Hey, I emm… I wanted to say thank you for saving my…….
He grabbed his brother’s hand and start walking away.
“Hey I was still talking,” she said going after them but he didn’t bother to stop.
“I just wanted to say thank you,” She shouted and he finally stopped.
“Keep it to yourself cos I regret saving you cos you brought bad luck into my life,” He cut in and she was shocked at his reaction.
“I was only trying to…..
“Just keep it to yourself, lady,” he yelled and she flinched back in fear.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice at her, just because she wanted to thank you for saving her life didn’t mean you should talk to her that way, if your having a problem then fix it cos she’s not the case of it,” Margaret yelled back at him instantly.
The Jeremy shout at her brought back the lost memory as she started seeing things.
“It’s….. It’s …. Him…. he’s ….. He is here,” she said pointing at Jeremy who was looking at her confused.
Her breathing quickened as she won’t stop shaking, her whole body heating up as if she was in an oven.
Looking at Jeremy all she could see was another person’s face.
“Adel, Calm down… Nobody is here, you’re fine,” Margaret tried to calm her down.
“It…..it’s….. S…… Ste……
“Shhhh….calm down, take her a deep breath, ” Margaret said, Adel was covered with sweat.
Her whole body was shaking and her temperature raises, she made to talk but her mouth was shaking.
“Not again, Adel, please come back,” Margaret hugged her tightly tearing up.
