“LILITH!” The screams of her friends were the last thing Lilith heard before colliding with the cold ground and succvmbing to the darkness.
_________

“Lilith?” Lou called out, poking her friend’s face with her index finger but there was no reaction or any sort of movement.

“What do you think is wrong with her? Is she dead?” Calliope panicked.

“Dead?” Lou repeated, frowning a little bit. “That doesn’t make sense, does it?”

“I think it does. She fell off a tall building. You don’t expect her to make it out alive, do you?”

“Why not?” Delphine chimed in, facing Calliope. “Why can’t she survive the fall, huh? We are immortals. We can’t die simply because we fell off a tall building or get stabbed with a knife or anything else. We only go to the world of void and nothingness when we lose our soul. I don’t think I should be reminding you of that.”

“I think she needs the reminder, honestly.” Lou rolled her eyes.

Calliope bites her lower lip and lowers her gaze, feeling stupid for having such a reckless and crazy thought.

“What are we going to do now?” Lou asked after a moment of silence. “She is cold and…pale. We can’t leave her out here like this and why the hell is it pouring down so heavily like this?” She said the last words through clenched teeth.

“You are right, we can’t leave her out here like this.” Delphine sighed. “We might get in trouble for this but as long as Lilith gets better then it is worth it.” She grabbed Lilith’s left arm. “Let’s take her to the palace. Only the king and queen can handle this situation.”

Announcer: Welcome to Seattle and thank you for using our airline. We hope to see you again. Have a good day!

A figure of a tall young guy of eighteen years can be seen in the scene, stepping away from the checkpoint while dragging his suitcase from behind.

He was wearing black ripped jeans, a black turtleneck long-sleeved shirt, and a black coat with an undetachable hoodie.

His face was hidden well underneath the hoodie but his pink plump lips were the only thing visible to see in his face.

He walked out of the airport and out to the open, examining his environment. It was raining and people were running back and forth for shelter.

The boy stood still in the rain, ignoring the harsh and unfriendly weather. Suddenly, a black Benz drove and parked in front of him.

A man in his late forties jumped out of the car and rushed to the young man.

“Sir, welcome back home.” He bowed deeply.

“Get my bag,” The boy rudely said and clambered into the car, not having the decency to return the man’s cheerful greetings. “Feels so good to be back here.” He smirked, taking off the hoodie from his head and revealing his whole face.

His eyes were red and his fangs were noticeable when he ran the tip of his tongue over his lips. However, his eyes changed back to their usual blue color and the fangs disappeared, making him look like a complete human.

A few moments later, the driver entered the car after dropping his boss’s suitcase in the truck. He turned on the ignition and drove off.

It was raining tremendously, bringing along with it a booming thunderstorm and splitting the sky with bright lightning.

A woman in a long black gown and red stiletto heels stood by the window, watching as the rain splattered to the window glass and how it rolled down until it faded away and created fog.

Her shiny black hair was neatly combed and put up in a high ponytail. Her appearance speaks of elegance and wealth.

The woman reached out to the table beside her and wrapped her black polished fingernails around a champagne glass of red…wine?

She lifted the glass and brought it up to her red lipstick lips, taking a sip of the content in the cup.

She exhaled sharply, having a weird smirk on her face.

“Madam,” An elderly woman called out from behind, bowing her head.

“Yes, Rose?” The woman answered without sparing the maid a glance.

“Everything is ready, Madam.” Rose informed.

“Hmm. Are you sure? My son is returning home after all these years,” She slowly turned around. “I want everything to be perfect.”

“Everything is perfect,” She assured.

“One mistake, and I will kill you.” The woman threatened, glaring at the old maid.

Rose trembled in fear but didn’t make it obvious. Her madam h@tës weakness and anyone who exhibits such feeling will be killed.

The Hills family are known for riches, fame, and perfection. They are known and admired all over the world. However, there is something about them that humans don’t know about. A secret that they have concealed for many, many years. A secret about their true identities.

“Yes, madam.” Rose replied, not having the courage to look at her madam in the eyes.

There was a knock and the door to the large home office was pushed open, revealing a young man in his early thirties.

“Hi, dear sister.” He winked.

“Rose, you may leave now.” The woman waved the old maid off, glaring at her brother.

Rose bowed her head to her madam and the man who was now seated on a black couch. She left the office afterward, shutting the door behind her.

As soon as they were left alone in the compartment, the woman dropped the champagne glass on the black desk while still glaring at her brother.

“What are you doing here, Kai?” She groaned.

“I heard my nephew is returning home today.” He smirked. “I am here to welcome him. That makes me a good uncle, right?”

“Good uncle, my @$$!” She rolled her eyes. “I thought I warned you never to show your face to me? Do my words mean nothing to you now?”

“Oh, Hannah,” Kai rose to his feet, shoving his hands into his pants pocket. “Get off your high horse, will you?”

“Don’t Füçking do that,” Hannah growled, her brown eyes changing to red. “You will not speak to me in that manner, young man.”

“Or what? Are you going to kil_” He was cut off by his sister’s sudden attack. She had a shard of glass plunged into his chest. “Oh, Füçk.”

“The next time I’m going to stab you, it will be with a dagger and not a broken glass, I promise you that.” She backed away from him.

Kai chuckled darkly, pulling out the glass from his chest and tossing it away to the floor. The open wound the glass had left on his chest started closing up.

“Make sure to keep that promise, dear sister.” He winked again and left the office.

“Leave my Füçking house, Kai!” Hannah yelled, knowing fully well that he was going to hear her even after leaving the office.

“No way!” His response came after a moment of silence.

“That bastard.” She snarled, balling her fist.

Beverly was pacing back and forth in the restroom, clenching and unclenching her fist while breathing heavily from fear.

Brent leaned against one of the cubicles with his arms crossed over his chest and his gaze upon the ceilings. He hasn’t said a word. Neither of them has.

The tension in the air thickens and Brent couldn’t take it anymore.

“What were you thinking, Beverly!?” He grunted. “Do you know what you’ve done? Do you know how serious this crime is? Bullying is one thing, but committing murder is a whole different story! We are doomed.”

“Stop shouting at me.” She snapped. “You think I don’t know what this is going to cost for us, especially my mother?” She sniffled. “But I swear it wasn’t on purpose. I didn’t plan for any of this to happen. I was pissed off and lost my sense of reasoning.”

“Füçk!!!” Brent cursed loudly, tugging at his hair.

“What are we going to do now?” Ivy whispered, staring at all of them.

“No one must know that we are involved in this,” Brent stated. “No one. Not even our parents.”

“Do you think that’s going to work? Everybody knows that we bully Esme constantly. They also knew we were searching everywhere for her until we were directed to go to the rooftop. I think we are the main suspects right now.” Clara reasoned.

“There’s no proof that we truly went to the rooftop, is there?” Kevin furrowed his brows.

They shook their heads.

“I’m leaving here,” Ava grabbed their attention. “I am not a part of this. I know absolutely nothing.”

“What?” Beverly raised a questioning brow. “What did you just say?”

“I said I’m leaving. I’m out of this…this…this d@mn group.” She said and attempted to storm out of the restroom when Beverly jumped in front of her, blocking her path.

“Do you think you can walk away from this?” She asked.

Ava blinked thrice, swallowing nothing.

“What do you want from me? I said I didn’t want to be a part of all this. I want to quit the group.”

“Once a betrayal, always a betrayal. Remind me, aren’t you the girl who betrayed her best friend just because you wanted to join our clique?” Brent said from behind.

“I was stupid. I made a mistake and I regret it.” Ava stated.

Immediately, Beverly gripped Ava by the hair and started pulling very hard.

“Argh, let go!” Ava cried out.

“You don’t have the right to make decisions here, dear Ava. If you dare try to play us, I swear I will make you pay dearly for it.”

“Are you kidding me?” Ava smirked. “You should be begging me right now, Beverly. I can tell the cops what I saw. Don’t forget I am a witness to this case.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“It’s no threat but a promise. Now let go of my hair!”

Instead of releasing Ava’s hair, she pulled it harder, earning a loud yelp from the fellow.

“You don’t scare me, Bîtch. What did you say? You are going to tell the cops on me? You are a witness?” She giggled. “Brent, Clara, Dave, Ivy, and Kevin are also witnesses. What do you think will happen if they all decide to blame you? Don’t forget, people tend to believe the lie of three people over the truth of one person.”

Ava moved her gaze to the others behind and saw them giving her the ‘We are in this together.’ look.

It was obvious that if she do anything stupid, she would be the one to lose.

“I’m sorry.” She apologized, accepting defeat.

Beverly smiled and let go of Ava’s hair.

“Wise choice. Now be a good girl and think of a way out of this mess.”

“Are you sure you are doing the right thing?” Thea asked for the hundredth time.

“Yes for the hundredth time, Thea. What is it? Why are you scared, huh?” Ixora groaned.

“Why shouldn’t I be scared? Do you know what will happen if the king finds out? Lilith is his favorite child, remember? He doesn’t joke with h_”

Ixora cut her off.

“So what? He killed my child decades ago and what? He expects me to forget about it and move on? Never. I’ve been plotting, conspiring, and hoping for an opportunity like this. An opportunity where I will be able to repay Dahlia for what she did to me.” Her eyes turned red from anger. “Because of her, my daughter was killed by her father. I will make sure Dahlia loses her daughter as well just as I lost mine.”

Thea was silence.

“I know you are worried about yourself and your children. Trust me, I am also worried about my other two kids but,” She shook her head. “I can’t seem to forgive and forget about the death of my baby girl.” She cried uncontrollably, blood rolling down her face.

Thea rose to her feet and pulled her co-wife into her arms, stroking her back softly.

“I understand where you are coming from, Ixora. Any mother in your shoes would have done exactly what you are doing. Dahlia needs to feel the pain of losing a child.”

•••••••••••

“What happened to my daughter?” Dahlia asked the girls worriedly, staring down at Lilith’s cold and pale face.

“We don’t know. One minute we were on the school rooftop discussing and in the next minute, Lilith was falling off the building.” Lou explained.

“Why? How? That story makes no sense. Lilith is a demon with wings, height is not our weakness. And besides why…” Dahlia’s voice trailed off as a thought came into her head. “No… No, it can’t be.”

Hannah was standing in front of the door, having a huge grin on her face.

Rose and some other maids stood beside their madam, anticipating the arrival of the young master.

Five minutes later, the door was flung open and the young boy picked up from the airport walked in.

Hannah’s eyes sparked with excitement as she rushed into his arms.

“Mother,” He breathed out, wrapping his strong arms around her slender waist.

“My handsome son, you are finally home.” She stated, peppering his face with kisses and love. “I miss you so much, dear.”

“I miss you more.” He replied, examining his surroundings. “It feels so good to be home, mom.”

“And it feels so good to have you home, love. Come on inside. Rose, take the suitcase to his bedroom. Hurry up.”

“Yes, madam.” Rose grabbed the suitcase and bowed her head to Hannah and the young master. “Welcome home, Sir.”

He just waved her off, paying no attention to her or the rest of the maids.

Hannah and her son go further into the mansion and go to the living room.

They sat down on a two-sitting couch and started talking about nothing and everything.

However, they were interrupted by the voice of someone the young master least expected to hear.

“How is my favorite nephew doing?” Kai asked, joining them in the living room.

Hannah groaned at the back of her throat, shooting daggers at her brother through her eyes.

“Are you still here?”

“I told you that I won’t leave until I welcome my favorite nephew home.” He said.

“First of all, I am your only nephew and secondly, when did we become close?”

“Ouch, that hurts, Kingsley.” Kai whined, placing his palm on his chest.

“King.” The young boy corrected. “Not Kingsley.”

“Kingsley is your name if I am not mistaken. That’s exactly what your mother named you after birth 150 years ago. I was standing right beside your mother when she named you so there is no way I’ve forgotten your name, Kingsley.”

King jumped up to his feet and attempted to go at his uncle but his mother snatched his hand, stopping him in his tracks.

“You are just returning home, don’t let anything ruin your mood.” She told him calmly before staring at her brother. “Get out of my house, Kai.”

“Come on, S_” She cut him off immediately.

“I. Said. Leave. My. House. Get out of there!” She roared, the walls and floor shaking from the impact of her voice.

Kai threw his hands up in the air as if in surrender and started backing away.

“See you around, Kingsley. And you too, Hannah.” He turned around and left the house.

“I Füçking h@të that man. Why did you even let him into the house.” King asked his mother, frowning.

“I kicked him out, trust me. But I didn’t know he didn’t leave like I had told him to. I’m sorry he ruined your mood.”

“He didn’t. He’s not worth it at all.” He grumbled.

“That’s my boy.” Hannah praised, smiling.

“That reminds me, what of my father? Doesn’t he know I will be coming back home today?”

“Your father left for a business trip but he will be home tomorrow morning.” She answered. “So, are you hungry?” She wiggled her brows.

King smirked, his eyes changing to red and his fangs appearing. He is now in his vampire form.

“You know the drill…”

“Camden,” Carmen called out, approaching her twin brother. “We need to talk.

Camden shut his locker and faced his sister, raising a questioning brow at her.

“Talk about what? And how come are you not avoiding me like you always do.”

“Oh, shut up.” She scoffed.

“We will leave you to talk to your sister, man.” Ricco offered, smiling at Carmen but she paid him no attention at all.

Harley, Ricco, and Oscar walked away afterward.

Carmen leaned against Camden’s with her arms crossed over her chest.

“I want to discuss with you about last night…” She began.

Camden shook his head.

“No, I don’t want to have that conversation with you. Mm-hmm.”

“The same way I didn’t want to have the conversation with you last night but you forced me into listening to you, remember?” She rolled her eyes.

“Why are you bringing up that topic right now, right here?”

“Because I can’t concentrate on anything. I had my head wrapped around last night and your question is on repeat in my Füçking head. I feel guilty for…nothing.” She mumbled.

Camden stared at her for a moment and he could see the sincerity in her eyes.

“I’m sorry,” He apologized.

Carmen frowned. Uhm, why exactly are you apologizing? I don’t get it.”

He sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

“I should never have spoken to you in that manner. You are my twin sister and nothing will ever change that. I guess I was just caught up in the moment. I’m truly sorry.”

Carmen ran the tip of her tongue over her lips and said, “I care about my family.”

“Huh?”

“Last night, you asked what matters to me in this world. I’m giving you an answer now… my family matters to me, Camden.”

“CARMEN!” Harriet yelled, running to her best friend alongside Maeve.

Carmen pushed herself off the locker and watched them come to her.

“What is it?” She asked by the time they got closer.

“Haven’t you heard?” Maeve questioned, breathing heavily.

“Heard what?” Camden asked.

“Oh, hi, Camden.” Harriet waved, blushing stupidly but she was pulled back to reality when Carmen snapped her fingers in front of her.

“Back to earth, girl. What is going on?” Carmen queried.

“A student jumped off the rooftop in the junior section. She has even been rushed to the hospital but nobody knows if she’s going to make it out alive or not.” Harriet said.

“What? That’s…bad.” Carmen shook her head sadly. “I wonder what could have made her jump off the rooftop.”

“Well, that’s not even the main thing,” Maeve cleared her throat. “Remember the girl we said Beverly and her boyfriend usually bully?”

Carmen slowly nodded her head.

“What’s her name again?” Harriet thought for a while before saying, “Esmeralda. She is the one who committed the suicide.”

Camden’s mouth dropped open with his eyes widened while Carmen almost stumbled but held on to herself.

“What did you just say?” She gasped out.

“I said Esmeralda jumped off the school building, why are you acting this way? Why are_” Harriet was interrupted by Carmen’s scream.

“WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SISTER!?”

“Sister?” Maeve and Harriet repeated in utmost surprise and confusion.
