《《《CHAPTER THIRTY》》》
🍒DEVA🍒
“”My lord, the portal will be ready by 12pm, so do as much as you can to bring Deva out by 11,” Hades said.
“I will,” Lucifer replied before turning to face me.
“Your friends will have to come with us, or else that would be another reason for your mother to get you back,” he said, his hands encircling me.
“It will be suspicious if we all went at once. What if Paula and her husband go first, then Dariana before us?” Lucifer nodded.
“That will be faster and better,” he agreed.
“I want the portal ready by 11 instead,” he said to Hades, who nodded before disappearing.
“If only I had my powers with me, all this nonsense wouldn’t have been happening,” I could sense the guilt in his voice. I felt sorry that he lost his powers.
“Sorry about that,” I said, then hugged him. His warm embrace comforted me.
“Why did you lose it?” I asked, raising my head to look at his perfectly structured face.
“You don’t need to know, Deva,” he replied, and I sensed something was off.
“Am I the cause of it?” I whispered.
“You? Of course not, darling,” he reassured me, touching my face.
“You aren’t, I promise,” he smiled, then tried to hug me again, but I resisted.
“If you tell me the truth, I will understand. You can’t keep lying to me, Lucifer, and besides, I…” I trailed off.
“I am not lying, Deva,” his exclamation took me aback.
“See, I didn’t mean to yell at you, but when I say nothing is wrong, then nothing is okay,” he said, then walked out of the room.
I couldn’t say anything; instead, I stood there, muted.
I knew he was obviously trying to hide something from me, and I still didn’t want to cause any problems between us.
I walked with Lucifer into the dining room. Mother asked for us, and I won’t lie, my heart was beating furiously.
“Sit, my children,” she said, pointing to seats in front of us.
As we began eating, the delicious food in front of me distracted me momentarily.
“So… I have been preparing this for a while now, and I have kept it a secret from you both,” Mother said, smiling.
“What is that?” I asked, still eating.
“You both are getting married today,” I stopped eating immediately, and my gaze turned to Lucifer, who was looking at me too.
Wait, what?
Moments later…
“At least it is the real Filip you are getting married to,” Dariana said while making sure my corset was well-tied.
“So… technically, you are getting married to the lord. It’s your mother’s loss,” Paula said.
“But… it’s not like I would not want to get married to Lucifer. I love to, but… he is the one I am scared for. He is going through this all because of me,” I confessed. Lucifer didn’t say anything after my mother spilled the tea. I felt like he was going to be really upset because marriage is not something you joke about in any of our kingdoms.
“He should understand if he really loves you,” Dariana said.
“Loves me?” I asked before laughing out loud.
“No, he doesn’t. He only likes me, that’s all,” I said, smiling.
Dariana and Paula both looked at me but said nothing, instead making sure my hair and makeup were okay.
Who knew I was going to get married today to Lucifer in my mother’s palace? Could anything get any worse?
●●Throne Room●●
I don’t know how my mother planned all this without me or even Lucifer knowing.
It was kind of a traditional wedding, which meant there was going to be a blood covenant. Wow, this was intense.
I stood in front of Lucifer, who was neatly dressed and looking quite handsome. His gaze met mine, but he wasn’t looking happy at all. I understood; a blood covenant was not something a lord like him would embrace willingly, which meant he was going to be bonded to me forever.
“Sit, please,” the priest said, smiling at both of us. I nodded before sitting, followed by Lucifer.
“Marriage is a choice, and a blood covenant defines the love you have for each other,” the priest began, then stretched out his hands.
“Your blood is going to run through each other’s veins, which means any pain he feels, you will feel it,” I could feel Lucifer stiffen when he heard that.
“There is no going back when it is done,” the priest continued, but instead of hesitating, I stretched out my hands.
“You both will become one, and now your pain will be his pain, your joy will be his joy, your peace will be his peace,” she brought out a knife and then cut my palm slowly. The pain wasn’t compared to the one I was feeling in my heart.
“Your hands,” she said to Lucifer, who hesitated before stretching out his hands.
The priest cut through his hands but stopped abruptly.
“Wait…” he paused, then his gaze turned to Lucifer.
“My lord,” he mumbled and was about to bow.
“No, just continue with this,” Lucifer said to the priest, who nodded his head immediately. Thank goodness Mother couldn’t hear what they were saying.
The priest, who was looking tense, brought both our hands together.
“Hold each other’s hands into that bowl,” he said, and we held our hands together, our blood beginning to drop into a bowl below us.
The priest began to say some incantations; my gaze turned to Lucifer, who wasn’t looking at me at all.
“Now drink,” the priest said, then brought the bowl closer to my mouth. I drank from the reddish-blackish blood.
“Pass the bowl to him,” I passed the bowl to Lucifer, who also drank from the blood.
“Now you are one, tied by blood, feelings, and marriage. By the powers given to me by Devona Kingdom, I now pronounce you husband and wife.”
Mother was the first to start clapping, looking so happy, not knowing she had just put herself into more trouble.
The priest couldn’t stop looking at Lucifer.
“Don’t you dare tell anyone about what happened today,” I said to the priest, who quickly nodded.
“Don’t worry; you will be rewarded when all this is over,” he nodded then walked away.
“We will still be leaving today,” I breathed out in relief; that was the first word Lucifer had said to me.
“That’s great,” I smiled.
“Congratulations.”
“Congratulations, my princess.”
“Congratulations, my princess.”
The amount of congratulations I got today almost made me sick. I was so tired and angry at the same time.
Lucifer wasn’t even helping at all; I felt so bad and guilty.
“Now your little monster won’t have any chance with you anymore,” Mother said, smiling. This was so ironic; I wish I could tell her that she just got me married to him.
“I will be in my room now,” I said then smiled.
~~~
I sat on my bed quietly, today had been overwhelming. I longed for someone to assure me that everything would be okay, but the person I most wanted to hear it from was angry with me.
Tears welled up as I felt like a toy princess, tossed about without control. My life felt unbearable.
“Deva,” the sound of my name made me jump.
“Grandmother?” I called out, spotting her figure in the corner of the room.
“Deva, my child.” I rushed to hug her, finding solace in her embrace.
“Don’t cry, my child,” she said, kissing my forehead.
“I missed you,” I admitted, pulling back from the hug.
“My life is so terrible,” I cried out.
“No, don’t say that. You have a perfect life, my child,” she sighed, cupping my cheeks.
“It’s hard sometimes, but not all fairy tales start perfectly. Remember Freya?” I nodded, recalling her stories from my childhood.
“Freya didn’t have a perfect life; she was a maid but later became the first queen of Devona,” Grandmother reminded me.
“So, Deva, this is just a phase. Have hope; it’s hope that can reshape your life,” she comforted me with a hug. I felt better knowing she cared.
“Today is going to be rough and tough for you, so I would advise you to think like a queen.”
Tough day? It’s already tough.
“Deva,” I turned to see Lucifer standing at the door. Grandmother had disappeared.
Lucifer approached, concern evident in his touch as he reached for my face. I recoiled, but he persisted.
“Leave me alone,” I pleaded, but he remained undeterred.
“I was scared, Deva,” he admitted, surprising me.
“I never considered marriage since I was born centuries ago. I am the lord of hell,” he confessed.
“It’s not that I don’t want you, of course I do,” he continued.
“From today, your pain will be mine, and that’s torture,” he said, holding my hands tightly.
“The pains I endure daily would be too much for you,” he added, now grasping my elbows.
“No, Lucifer, I would do anything for you,” I insisted.
“I should be the one saying that, not you,” he murmured.
“I’m not good for you, Deva. I don’t even understand how these feelings work,” he confessed.
“What exactly do you see?” I questioned, determined to understand.
“There’s nothing you can do about it. It’s a blood covenant, and I want to share in your pain,” I asserted.
Lucifer sighed, gazing at me for a moment before pulling me into a hug. I smiled, reciprocating the embrace.
“Can you kiss me?” I requested. He chuckled, rolling his eyes.
“Do you even need to ask?”
As our lips met, a soft tingle spread throughout my body. His warmth enveloped me, and I couldn’t help but release a small Mõ@n of pleasure. We began slowly, with tender kisses that grew deeper and more intense with each passing moment. Our tongues intertwined in a passionate dance, exploring each other’s mouths eagerly. I tangled my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened, losing ourselves in the blissful moment.
With each kiss, our bodies pressed together with increasing urgency. I could feel the hardness of his arousal against me, igniting a fire within me. Soft Mõ@ns escaped my lips as his hands roamed over my skin, tracing every curve and contour. My own hands trailed down his chest and stomach, teasing him and fueling the desire between us.
Breaking the kiss, we gazed into each other’s eyes, the longing evident in our shared gaze.
“It’s so hard to resist,” he whispered before pecking my lips.
“Your mother wants to see me. When I come back, we will leave and never return,” he stated, and I nodded in agreement, returning the peck on his cheek.
“Be careful, okay?” I hugged him tightly, savoring the moment.
As 11 pm approached, it was time for us to depart. Lucifer hadn’t returned to my chambers since he left an hour ago.
I smiled to myself, spinning around the room. Lucifer was everything to me, and I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
Sitting back on my bed, I glanced at my fingers, feeling a mix of boredom and happiness. As I stood up, a sharp pain shot through my thigh, causing me to whine in discomfort. Quickly lifting my gown to inspect the area, I found nothing visibly wrong, yet the pain persisted.
Another sharp pain, this time in my ribs, caused me to scream out loud. Confused and in agony, I managed to make my way out of my room, the unbearable pains driving me towards the throne room. There, I encountered two guards blocking the entrance.
“Open the door!” I demanded, but they remained silent.
“I said open the d@mn door!” I screamed, frustration and pain driving my words, but they continued to ignore my pleas.
Standing face to face with the guard, the weight of the moment pressed down on me. With no other choice, I dug deep within myself, tapping into an unknown well of power. Little did I know, it was a dark magic that lay dormant within me, waiting to be unleashed.
As the guard advanced, a surge of energy erupted from within me, engulfing them in a whirlwind of shadowy tendrils. Their screams were drowned out by the darkness that consumed them.
Stunned by what I had done, I stood amidst the aftermath, bewildered by the display of newfound power. Fear and curiosity mingled within me as I realized the extent of my abilities. This unexpected revelation marked the beginning of my journey to understand and control the dark magic that dwelled within me.
Entering the throne room, chaos greeted me. Lucifer, once a figure of power and darkness, now lay bound by chains, his body battered and bloodied. Crimson stains marred his once pristine attire, evidence of the violence inflicted upon him.
The chains rattled with each labored breath he took, a stark contrast to the air of menace he once exuded. Wounds adorned his form like macabre trophies of a vicious battle—stabs on his thigh and ribs, testament to the ferocity of his attackers.
Beside him stood a figure shrouded in darkness and malice—my mother. Her eyes gleamed with a wicked light as she surveyed the room, her gaze locking onto me with chilling intensity.
Before my mother could make a move, Paula rushed to my side, urgency etched upon her features. She insisted that I follow her, but I hesitated, unsure of the dangers that lay ahead. Despite my protests, Paula’s resolve was unwavering, and she insisted that I accompany her. Lucifer nodded for me to go.
“Please go,” he murmured, tears streaming down my cheeks. He was in this condition because of me.
We fled through the palace corridors, our footsteps echoing in the empty halls. Just as we reached the entrance to the portal, a guard emerged from the shadows, his eyes glinting with malice. With a swift motion, he unleashed a burst of power, striking paula from behind.
I watched in horror as Paula crumpled to the ground, a cry of pain escaping her lips. Anger surged within me, a fierce protectiveness overwhelming my senses.
As I stood over Paula’s fallen form, grief and rage mingled within me. In that moment of turmoil, a figure emerged from the shadows—Maze, summoned from the depths of the portal. With solemn determination, Maze reached out to me, urging me to follow.
Despite my anguish, I knew I had to heed Maze’s call. With a heavy heart, I tore myself away from Paula’s lifeless body, knowing that she had met her end in another palace.
Together, Maze and I raced towards the portal, our steps quickened by the urgency of our mission. But before we could reach safety, a guard fueled by malice and dark power intercepted us.
In a desperate bid to protect me, Maze faced off against the guard, engaging in a battle of wills and magic. With each clash of power, the air crackled with tension, threatening to consume us all.
In the chaos that ensued, I unleashed the full extent of my dark magic, a primal force born of grief and fury. But even as I fought to defend myself, I knew that more guards would soon arrive, drawn by the tumultuous energy that surrounded us.
Sensing the imminent danger, Maze seized the opportunity to drag me into the portal, sparing me from further harm. As we vanished into the unknown depths of the portal, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for leaving Paula behind, her sacrifice weighing heavily on my conscience.
To be continued…
