EVELYN’S POV
“How is she… Pregnant?” I asked myself, starring at the girl waiting for taxi.
I have to confirm maybe she has moved on, I hope so.
I was crossing the road towards her “Anna Leigh!”
She panicked as she saw me and started walking off the sidewalk.
I walked faster “Anna Leigh, please wait, we need to talk.”
I increased the speed of my legs and finally reached her “Anna, wait.”
“What do you want?” She sighed.
I gripped my bag strap “It’s a while I just wanted to see you, how are you doing?”
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
I rolled my eyes “I’ve been good, why?” I asked, folding my arms.
“Please don’t h@të me.” She said softly “Look, I know I ruined your relationship with Adam 6 months ago and I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
I don’t know if I should h@të her or not, it’s not her fault anyways.
I took a deep breath “Can I go? My legs are hurting.”
“We can just get a drink.” She scoffed “We can go to the Cafe nearby.”
“No need.” I snapped “Taxi?”
“Anna Leigh, please.” She made a sheepish face.
I took a deep breath in hesitation “Sure.”
We went to LA Cafe and I was served with banana smoothies while Evelyn was served with coffee.
I sucked through the straw, enjoying the smoothie without thinking twice because I was really thirsty.
“They say banana smoothies stimulates the nervous system for you and your baby.” She smiled.
I nodded, not caring about wh@tëver she said. I know I shouldn’t have accept the drink but I can’t help it, my baby keeps asking for it.
EVELYN’S POV
I took a deep breath, feeling guilty about her. I know she might have gone through a lot but not as me. I just have to make it up to her.
“Look Anna Leigh, I don’t want us to h@të each other.” I held her arms and let go of it immediately “I want us to be friends, like best…”
“Friends?” She laughed angrily “I don’t mean to be rude but when we first met in high school, I knew you’ve always being jealous of me because I was dating Adam and your parents and his parents have always want you two to get married, neither you nor Adam told me anything about it, then you got married to him and kissed him after your husband literally dumped me like trash in front of you.
Not only that, when we’re about to reconcile after so many years, you came and destroyed everything with your daughter.” She stood angrily.
Tears was coming out of my face “I…” I shrugged, stammering “I didn’t mean for all these to happen but…”
“Save your fake tears to yourself, Evelyn.” She cut me off and smiled “Congratulations, You have a happy family.”
“I’m sorry.” I sniffed.
She sighed and took the drink cup, starring at it for a while “Thanks for the smoothie.” She poured the remaining contents on my dress.
“Argh!” I gasped in shock and stood.
She pouted “Opps, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean for all this to happen.” She said sarcastically.
I frowned at her. Didn’t she did this on purpose?
She scoffed with a smirk “I know, that’s how it feels.” She walked out of the cafe, leaving me in a ruined mess of emotions and Gucci dress.
*Later In The Evening*
ADAM’S POV
“Who wants mushroom pizza?!” I smiled, bringing a tray of big round pizza into the living room where Abigail’s studying.
“Yay!!!” She clapped.
I sat beside her on the couch and placed it on the coffee table.
She’s covered her books, took a slice of pizza and had a bite “Yummy!” She grinned “Thank you, daddy.”
That touched my heart, now I’m starting to feel bad about neglecting my child. I’m just unable to accept that I’ve lose Anna Leigh.
“Let’s play a game.” I said, as I brought out chess board game and we started playing, more like I’m allowing her to win.
The reason why I’m playing with her, not because I’ve accepted her fully but her mom isn’t back home yet since morning.
EVELYN’S POV
I returned back to work to keep myself from thinking about what Anna Leigh said earlier. I returned home and stand at the door entrance feeling bad.
I think I should tell Adam, he’ll be so excited he’ll be ready to leave me and Abigail just to be with her.
I sighed as I opened the door and walked into the living room.
“I win again!” Abigail cheered as they’re both playing game and eating pizzas, enjoying father and daughter moment.
I smiled as my heart warmth enjoy watching this beautiful moment.
“Wow! Not again, that’s my little girl.” Adam hugged his child.
I feel like taking a picture. I don’t want this to end but it has to.
“Adam.” I called his name.
He saw me and stood immediately “Evelyn, you’re home.”
“There’s something I need to tell you.” I sighed “Ann…”
“I’m eating the pizza!” Abigail interrupted.
“Hey, you better leave some for daddy.” Adam snapped playfully.
“Duhh.” She made a funny face which made me laugh.
He chuckled and took a deep breath “Sorry, you were saying?”
“That I wanna join in the game.” I lied.
He shrugged “Yeah, Wh@tëver.”
I giggled as we all sat on the couch, playing chess game, laughing, and having fun. I don’t wanna miss this moment. I guess I don’t have to say anything about Anna Leigh to ruin my happiness.
But with everything Anna Leigh told me, does it proof that I’m a bad person?
