The drive back home was so silent with Ricardo
staring out of the car window and Valentina
pressing her phone.
The car drove into the mansion and parked at
the garage. The driver opened the door for them
to come down.
Ricardo turned his back and began walking into
the house. Valentina stood there, looking at him.
“What’s wrong with him?” Valentina wondered
and made a phone call.
“Sis!” Iris exclaimed from the other end of the
phone. She was actually heading to her
workplace.
“Iris, how are you doing? It’s day two and I miss
you so badly” Valentina pouted, heading to the
house.
“Me too Tina, but I don’t want you to come back
early. You have to enjoy your stay there.” Iris
said entering the bar.
“Wow thanks sis. So how is school over there?”
Valentina asked heading to her room.
She spotted Myles and Minnie at the living room
watching a cartoon.
“Well it is cool! I’m beginning to make new and
cool friends though some are quite petty like
Gavin” Iris sighed.
“Gavin? A guy? Is he handsome?” Valentina
smirked.
“Don’t even go there” Iris warned.
“What?” Valentina laughed.
“Laugh all you can. By the way, don’t you think
you and your boss make a great couple. I saw
the picture where you two kissed, men it was
great!!” Iris laughed
“Iris!! I was just drunk beside that will never
happen again” Valentina said, removing her
shoes. She laid down on the bed.
“Never say never. Gosh! I can already imagine
you two at the beach, kissing and…”
“Bye!!” Valentina hung up before she could
finish speaking.
“This Iris is a psycho!” Valentina thought.
“Looks like mom gave birth to a pair of psycho”
Valentina chuckled and ached her brows.
“But why does everyone keeps pairing me and
my boss together?! I mean, don’t they see the
huge gap between us? He’s a billionaire almost
all the ladies are crushing on him and I’m a
nobody… How can he leave all those educated
ladies who are way more pretty than me just to
come and settle down with me…. Pfft, thats
nonsense” Valentina kept talking to herself.
Valentina stood up and changed to her home
wear. She wore a white top with a blue pair of
jeans before leaving her room.
She got to the living room and saw the twins
watching a cartoon titled “small foot”. She sat
down in between them and began watching the
movie with them.
Ricardo walked out of his room too, he changed
to a simply shirt and black jeans. On his way
out, he saw the three of them watching TV while
laughing.
He turned and made to leave but stopped when
he heard someone speak.
“Dad, where are you going!!” Myles asked.
“I just wanna tour around Paris” Ricardo smiled.
“Okay, dad. Bye!!” Minnie waved at him.
“Bye” He smiled and looked at Valentina who
was also looking at him.
“Be safe boss” Valentina smiled and turned
back to the TV.
He looked at her for a brief while before leaving
the house.

NIGHTSHINE CLUB**
“Here’s your ÇOçktail Miss” Iris served a lady and
went back to the counter.
She began cleaning the glasses with a white
piece of clothing. Once she was done, she
picked a bottle of wine and turn to keep it back
on the counter but halted when she saw Gavin
standing behind her.
“What do you want now?” Iris said and rolled her
eyes.
“What? My dad owns this place” Gavin
shrugged
“I know, but the last time I checked you aren’t
working here so what are you doing right here.
Thought we had an agreement that we’ll not
have nothing to do with each other so as to
avoid war” Iris said.
“And you seriously thought I’ll respect that?!
Come on! Me not pestering you is like a dog
stop hating a cat” Gavin said.
Iris sighed and pinched her brows. She pushed
him out of her way to keep the bottle of wine
she was having in her hand.
She made to walk pass him when he held her
hand and pulled her back. She yanked his hand
off her body.
“Easy, I was just kidding okay? I just want us to
be friends” Gavin smiled.
“Friends?” Iris crossed her hand and looked at
him suspiciously.
“Yeah, promise I won’t pester you….well I’ll try
not to” Gavin said.
“The way you’re suddenly nice to me. I’m I
safe?” Iris asked.
“Hey Gavin! What are you doing there?!”
Maxwell called.
“Coming” Gavin replied. He spotted a phone on
the counter and then took it.
“Hey! Give back my phone!” Iris made to take it
but he raised it up typing something on it.
Once he was done, he gave it back to her. Iris
punched him on the stomach which he felt
almost nothing.
“Weakling” Gavin winked and walked out of the
counter.
Iris looked at her phone and then at him.
“I’m sure he’s planning something for me again”
Iris mumbled.
“Who’s that cutie?” Maxwell asked, looking at
iris.
“Well let’s say she’s my target” Gavin said.
“By target what do you mean?” Maxwell asked.
“Think for yourself” Gavin replied and began
walking out of the bar.
“Hey! Wait up!” Maxwell followed behind.
Not quite long after, a car parked in front of the
bar. The driver opened the door and Charlotte
got down the car.
“Bye dad!” She waved and entered the bar.
Her eyes scanned round, searching for Iris. She
smiled when she saw Iris.
At that moment, Iris also looked at her. She
ached her brows, what she was doing here.
Charlotte began walking to her.
“Charl, what are you-”
Charlotte hugged her before she could finish
speaking.
“I’m so sorry Iris. Please forgive me, I didn’t
mean all what I said to you last night. It was all
out of jealousy, I don’t want us to be enemies…
I’m sorry” Charlotte was already shedding tears.
Iris smiled and hugged her back too. She helped
her clean her tears.
“Come on Charl baby, you’re too emotional. Of
course I forgive you, was never mad at you… In
fact I’m the one to ask for forgiveness, I broke
our sis code. Should have never kissed Luca
when I know you like him” Iris said.
“It’s okay, mistakes to happen” Charlotte smiled
and hugged Iris tightly.
“Friends?” Charlotte muttered.
“Always be friends” Iris hugged her back.
Two arms came and wrapped them up…
“You’re doing the group hug without me. That’s
not fair!!” Kimberly pouted while hugging them.
Iris and Charlotte chuckled.
“C’mon, I prepared a lot of cool stuffs for us
today. Let’s go!!” Kimberly said.
“Wait, I’m still working!” Iris said.
Kimberly turned to Mr Peter who was busy with
some clients.
“Can we borrow Iris for today. Please?” Kimberly
pouted
“Sure young miss” Mr Peter replied and smiled.
“You’re too kind. That Mr Pete!” Kimberly pecked
him and held iris’s hand.
“Done! Now let’s go!” Kimberly dragged her out
of the club.

PARIS, 07:40PM**
Ricardo walked into a one of the club in the
area. For about 3 hours now he’s been touring
the city and now he decided to end his day in
the club.
The music was blaring at each corners of the
club. He quietly walked to a seat and sat down.
With his casual wear it was quite hard to
recognize him…
A server walked to him dressed in some skimpy
clothes. She smiled seductively at him.
“What can I offer you handsome?” She smiled.
“Whiskey will do” He replied.
The lady left, making sure to shake her butt
while leaving. Ricardo’s eyes traveled round the
club.
Some where dancing, some were busy kissing
and romancing themselves while some were
simply sitting and flirting around.
“I’m sure there are married men in this club.
Busy f*cking some useless Bîtches, while their
wives are at home worried sick of them. Such a
rotten world we live in” Ricardo muttered bitterly.
A lady suddenly came and sat down beside
him. Ricardo looked at her and looked away.
The server came and served him his drink then
kept the bottle beside. He paid the server who
walked away after winking at him…
The lady who was sitting beside him, came
more closer to him making sure to press her
B@@bs on his arm.
“Hey Sëx¥, I couldn’t help but notice you’ve been
sitting here all by yourself. I’m sure you need
some good company” The lady whispered
seductively in his ear with her hands slowly
crawling to his thigh.
Ricardo simply stared at her, strangely his body
wasn’t reacting to her touches. Something
crossed his mind and then he pulled her closer
by the head and slammed his lips on her.
The lady wrapped her hands round his neck,
kissing him hungrily. Ricardo groaned and
broke the kiss, that kiss also didn’t make his
body react.
“Let’s just go to a room pretty boy. There I’ll-”
“Leave!” Ricardo said.
“C’mon hun”
“Leave now!!” Ricardo raised his tone abit. The
lady scoffed and stood up, she walked away
looking for another customer.
Ricardo continued his drink. These days he
doesn’t understand himself any longer… He
didn’t know for how long he stayed there

Valentina switched off the TV. She went
upstairs to check up on Myles and Minnie. They
were still sleeping soundly…
He closed back the door and went back
downstairs. She looked out of the window and
sighed. It’s almost 10 and Ricardo isn’t back…
Valentina sat down on the couch and brought
out her phone then began surfing while texting
with Kristina.
Few minutes later, she heard the sound of the
car drive in the mansion. Valentina dipped her
phone in her pocket and stood up then walked
to the entrance.
Ricardo staggered upstairs to the entrance while
holding his head.
“I shouldn’t have drink this much…my head
hurts!” Ricardo muttered.
Valentina opened the door and Ricardo almost
fell on her if not for the fact that he was holding
on to the door post.
“Boss..!! You reek of alcohol” Valentina twisted
her face.
“Just help me get to my room” Ricardo
muttered.
Valentina nodded and placed his arm on her
shoulder. She struggled and helped him walk
upstairs.
She kicked open the door to his room and they
both went in. Valentina placed him on the bed.
She knelt down and helped him remove his
shoes…
Ricardo kept rolling on the bed while holding his
head. Valentina lifted herself up abit arranging
the pillow properly under his head.
Ricardo stopped moving and now began
starring at her face. He didn’t know whether it
was the alcohol or his mind disturbing him but
he raised his hand and then cupped her cheek.
That made Valentina look down at him, she
looked at his hand on her cheek and tried to pull
away but…
Like a flash, Ricardo switched their position
such that he was on top of her.
“Boss…” Valentina called nervously, she was
slowly regretting why she helped him.
“Shh…” Ricardo said with swaying eyes. He
slowly began leaning.
Valentina shifted her head away from him more
and more so much that the bed was almost
swallowing her.
“Boss, no no no no” Valentina said and made to
push him away but he pinned her hands on the
bed and slowly claimed her lips.
Valentina’s eyes grew wider by the second. She
was completely trapped under him. She could
even taste the alcohol
Ricardo kept savoring her lips, kissing her
hungrily. He bit her lips and sucked then nibbled
on it.
Valentina tried as much as possible to resist but
he was such a great kisser! She found herself
giving in.
Ricardo released her hand when she stopped
struggling. She dipped her hands in his hair,
slowly melting in the kiss.
Contrary to the madness that Ricardo did earlier
this was the real deal! His heart kept hammering
against his ribcage…
He slowly broke the kiss and kissed her
shoulder, licking and sucking on it.
“Rick…” Valentina gasped.
His hands crawled it’s way under her shirt and
then caressed her bare waist and back. That
made all the hairs on Valentina’s body to stand.
He trailed his kisses back up to her ear and then
licked and sucked on her earlobe. That alone
made Valentina shiver.
His hand found it’s way to her jeans and he
made to pull it down.
Valentina came back to her senses and pushed
him away with all her forces. She stood up and
ran out of the room, her phone fell on the floor
in the process.
Ricardo dipped his hands in his hair and sighed
loudly. His head was still hurting like mad.
“F*ck!” He muttered and closed his eyes drifting
to sleep…

PARIS, MORNING**
Valentina slowly rose up to a bright morning.
She looked at the time on tge little clock on her
bed stand and saw it was 8AM. Gosh, she slept
for so long…!!
She wanted to call Iris but had to stop herself
when she remember it must be 4AM in New
York.
Speaking of calling, where’s her phone.
Valentina searched her bed but couldn’t see her
phone. Thats when it dawn on her that it must
have fallen in Ricardo’s room.
Valentina laid down on the bed as memory of
last night invaded her mind.
“I’m screwed.. How will I face him? What came
into me!! I should have pushed him away when
he kissed me but no, I kissed him back too. I
was indirectly taking advantage of his drunk
state… How will I face him. Valentina you are in
big mess..” Valentina kept whining on and on
while rolling on her bed like a kid.
She sat up with her hairs pointing in different
direction. Her thought drifted to how he touched
her, this was actually the first time someone
has touched her like that.
“Stop thinking about that. Instead think of how
you’ll face him today” Valentina said to her
mind and stood up from the bed.
She went to the bathroom to freshen up…

Ricardo walked out of his bathroom with a
towel tied round her body. He stopped on his
tracks when he felt something vibrating on the
floor.
He looked down to see it was a phone and it’s
not his. He picked it up to see Tina displaying
on it.
“Hello” He picked.
“Cardo!!” Kristina spranged up from her bed
when Ricardo picked Valentina’s phone
“Kris?” Ricardo furrowed his brows.
“What are you doing with Valentina’s phone?
Don’t tell me you two…”
“That’s not what you think Tina” Ricardo replied.
“I will make as if I believe” Kristina smirked.
“I’m not really in the mood for your teasing. Will
call you later” Ricardo hung up and looked at
Valentina’s phone.
Honestly, he didn’t know what to feel. One part
of him really regrets kissing her but the other
actually loved it.
Ricardo ruffled his hair and kept the phone on
the bed then went to dress up.

“Good morning boss, I came to take my phone
and I’m sorry about yesterday. Please don’t fire
me” Valentina said and shook her head.
“No, it’s not good!” Valentina said to herself. She
was actually standing in front of Ricardo’s door.
“Morning boss, last night I dropped my phone in
your room. Sorry about last night, it will never
happen again” Valentina said and then nodded.
“Yeah that’s better!” She smiled.
“Morning…. Ahh!!!!!” She screamed when
Ricardo opened the door to his room. He was
surprised to see her standing there.
“M…morning boss,,, I came t..to” Valentina
began stammering.
“You must be here for this” Ricardo handed her
her phone.
She slowly collected it and looked at him.
Ricardo avoided her gaze and walked away…
Valentina looked at him, surprised. She
shrugged and followed behind him…

TWILIGHT HIGH, 08:03AM**
“Gosh, the first test was so hard!!” Charlotte
groaned.
Iris chuckled…
“Well you need to get ready for we are writing
chemistry test in the next hour” Iris said.
“Not chemistry….” Charlotte whined loudly.
👥 Look, the three hottest girls in school are
coming.
👥 I love Kimberly’s new hairstyle.
👥 If they can just blow a kiss at me, my life will
be complete.
Iris chuckled when she heard the last comment.
“Looks like we are becoming popular without
knowing” Kimberly said.
“Well popularity don’t interest me” Iris shrugged.
“Hey Iris!!” Luca called coming to them.
Iris smiled and waved at him..
“I was going to revise chemistry. Wanna come?”
Luca asked.
Iris looked at Charlotte who looked down. She
looked back at Luca and shook her head.
“I can’t… Have to do something with Kim! Just
go with Charlotte, bye!” Iris said and pulled
Kimberly away.
Charlotte was left surprised. She didn’t know
what to do.
“Well guess its you and me. Let’s go froggy”
Luca patted her hair and led the way.
“Look who’s calling me froggy, you look like a
masquerade” Charlotte yelled, following behind
him.

Kristina got out of her car with a smile on her
face. She closed the door to her car and made
to walk out of the parking lot buy stopped when
she saw Logan standing not far from her.
It’s been almost a week now that they haven’t
exchange any word ever since she told him her
reason for acting the way she did.
Logan walked to her with a smile on his lips, he
hand was behind him…
“Logan” She called, honestly she missed him
trying to flirt with her.
“You called my name. Here, for you” He said and
stretched a rose to Kristina.
Kristina looked at the rose and then at him then
back at the rose before slowly collecting…
“From the way you’re looking at me you must
have missed me. Well don’t think I’ve quit, no I
was just thinking.” Logan said and leaned on
her car with his hands in his pocket.
“I was thinking of what I really feel for you,
whether it was just lust or love. Well my heart
finally came to a conclusion” Logan said and
stood straight then took a step closer to her.
Kristina took a step back till her butt hit the car.
Logan placed his hand on the car caging her.
“I came to a conclusion that I’m not giving up on
you Kris… Call me a fool but you’ve been in my
mind all these while. No matter how much you
shun me way I’ll always keep trying till I win
back this heart of yours.” Logan said and
pointed at where her heart was.
Kristina just stared at him, not knowing what to
say.
“I’ll try by all means to win back this heart of
yours and you know why?” Logan leaned more
closer till their lips were just inches apart.
“Because I love you” He whispered and took a
step away from Kristina. He looked at her for a
while before leaving.
Kristina looked at the rose in her hand and then
at him walking away.
“What did he just say?” Kristina asked to no one
in particular, unsure of what she heard.

TWILIGHT HIGH**
“And that’s all about the nitrogen cycle” Luca
concluded.
“Wow, it was so d@mn easy!” Charlotte smiled.
“Yeah” Luca looked at the time and it was
almost time. He began packing his things …
“It’s almost time, let’s get going Charl” Luca
said.
“You like Iris don’t you?” Charlotte said sadly.
Luca looked at her and ached his brows.
“I saw the way you look at her each time you
see her” Charlotte muttered and looked up at
him.
“Well,,,, I don’t know” Luca said lowly…
Charlotte held his hand and placed it on her
chest.
“Luca, this heart beats only for you. I was
supposed to tell you this a long while now but I
was scared… I love you Luca, for a long while
now.” Charlotte said, pouring out all her heart.
Luca just stared at her with a look of surprise on
his face. What should he say now?
Charlotte stood up to her toes and leaned closer
to him such that their lips were just inches apart
.
“Just give me a chance to prove to you how
much I love you. Just one and I’ll make you fall
for me” Charlotte whispered.
Luca stared at her face for a while then closed
his eyes and took a step back.
“I’m sorry Charlotte, I only see you as a friend
nothing more” Luca said slowly.
He carried his books and looked at her with a
sorry look before leaving.
Charlotte sat back down on the chair and
smiled hurtfully as a drop of tear fell from her
eyes.
“I saw this coming” She whispered and wiped
her tears but another fell.
“But why does it still hurt so bad?”
She looked at the time and stood up then wiped
her tears and carried her books then left fighting
back her tears.

Three days slowly ran by like it was nothing to
them. Nothing that special happened apart from
exams and other stuffs

“Finally!! Thank goodness those freaky exams
are over” Kimberly groaned walking out of the
school.
“Yeah me too” Charlotte replied.
“What’s wrong Charl you’ve been unusually
quiet these days” Kimberly asked.
Charlotte sighed and looked at them.
“I told Luca about what I felt for him and as
expected he turned me down” Charlotte blurted
out.
“Oh,, sorry baby girl” Iris said sadly.
“Let’s just forget about it. Who want to come to
a pajamas party tonight at my house!!” Kimberly
asked.
“Me!!” Charlotte exclaimed.
“Well I’ll have to ask for my mom’s permission
but well I know she’ll agree so I’m in” Iris smiled
too.
“Okay cool!! Have to run back home to prepare
all what we need” Kimberly said when she
spotted her driver.
“By Kim Kim!!” Charlotte waved.
Kimberly entered the car and not too long after
Gavin walked to the car. He looked at where Iris
and Charlotte were standing.
Gavin smiled and winked at Iris before entering
the car. That made Iris frown…
“What was that?” Iris wondered.

PARIS, 06:13PM**
Ricardo got down the car and began walking to
the entrance. Valentina got down too and
frowned while looking at Ricardo.
For the past three days he’s been snubbing her
around. Each time she’ll try to engage a
conversation, he’ll start talking about business.
Ever since the kiss incident that’s what has been
happening and honestly that angers Valentina
day by day.
She isn’t even angry because he’s snubbing her,
she’s angry at herself and more at him. Angry at
that darn night!!!
Valentina marched angrily to the entrance.
Myles and Minnie where busy discussing with
Ricardo and laughing till they spotted Valentina.
“Nanny Tina!!” Minnie exclaimed and made to
run to her but Valentina walked pass her in
anger. She gave Ricardo a very dangerous glare
that even sent chills to Ricardo’s spine. She
marched upstairs and slammed the door to her
room real loud.
“What have you done dad?” Myles asked, he
noticed the angry look Valentina gave to him
and honestly, it disturbs him.
Could it be because he was ignoring her during
all these days? Well he did that because he
doesn’t know how and where to start from to
explain things to her… Maybe that wasn’t the
best idea.

Valentina walked out of the bathroom and
rubbed her cream. She wore an oversized
sweaters with a white bump short then brushed
her hair and allowed it to fall freely.
Valentina wore her slippers and walked out of
her room heading downstairs. She stopped on
her tracks when she almost bumped into
Ricardo.
She looked at him and then looked away then
made to walk away but he caught her by the
forearm.
Valentina yanked his hand off her and glared at
him.
“Valentina…”
“What? Now you’re calling me by my name?!
After when I was just trying to help you out but
you kissed me and touched me then you
ignored me for three good days!! Why?! Is it
because you were disgusted in kissing a poor
girl?! Is it because you were disgusted in
touching a poor rat like me?! Huh!! Ricardo I’m
talking to you!!!” Valentina yelled angrily…
Valentina leaned on the wall and swept her hair
backwards then sighed trying to calm down her
anger.
She looked at Ricardo one more time and made
to leave but he pulled her back then caged her
against the wall.
“I’m sorry” Ricardo muttered, looking down.
“Huh?” Valentina blurted out.
“I’m sorry for making you feel bad, sorry for
getting you angry. I’m sorry” Ricardo said and
looked straight into her eyes.
