Amber and Kim came home, they opened the gifts that was given to her. “Kim, I will have this one that has Uju’s name on it.” Amber mumbled.
Kim chuckled and asked her why.
“I don’t trust her. Uju can do anything silly.” She replied. She carried it to her room and kept it in the closet and left.
She returned back to the living room, Kim showed her a car key from the little box.
“What do I do with it?” She asked, pissed off. Kim hissed, “Don’t tell me you are not going to take this key. I mean com’on, it’s a gift from someone who loves you.”
“And I don’t love him. Is that too difficult to understand? I’m chasing money and stupid people will be busy running around looking for love.”
“So you are saying that, I am stupid. Huh?” Kim asked, staring at her. “That’s not what I mean, okay. You’ve found love already, so you’re not among and your wedding is coming up soon.”
“Amber!” Kim called, looking at her. “Yes, why are you staring at me, like that?” She asked and chuckled.
“It’s not funny.” Kim replied. “Okay, fine.” She muttered and raised her hands up. “Amber he’s different. Com’on girlie, you deserve something good and whenever am praying, I always put you in prayers.
You deserve good things too, I don’t want to see you single after getting married. I want you to be the next in the line.”
“Check out this watch, it’s very expensive.” Amber changed the topic. “Amber, stop. Just stop it, I don’t like when you change the conversation to something stupid.” Kim half yelled.
“Oh really? Why can’t you just stop bring up the conversation? For peace to reign and to avoid change of topic, don’t bring it up.”
“Wh@tëver, that won’t stop me from bring it up. Kunle is good.” Kim said, Amber chuckled.
“He must have done something to you.” Amber mumbled.
“What do you mean by that?” Kim asked. “Hmm, maybe he has cast a spell on you. Or maybe he gave something to give me, so that I will start loving him. The truth is that, I am a busy business woman. I ain’t got no time for men.” Amber said, smiling.
“You will definitely get time for men, for Kunle.” Kim replied, Amber gave a deadly stare before looking away.
2 DAYS LATER
Amber was at home, when her mom walked to her. To have a mother and daughter talk.
“Mom, please have a sit.'” She said, the moment she saw her. She sat down and glance at her.
“Any problem?” Amber asked, calmly. “No, no problem at all. Uhm Amber i want to talk about something. It’s very important. Kate came around yesterday, so we talked about something.”
“Okay, something like what? Wait, is it because of the house?” Amber asked, staring at her.
“Amber, promise me that you won’t get angry.” Helen said. “What is it? Just say it, mom.”
“No, you have to promise me that you won’t get angry.” Helen said, staring at her.
“Well…okay I promise.” Amber replied and waited patiently for the words that will coming from her mom.
“Actually, Kate and I were talking about you. I mean I…there’s this guys, He’s from the east side. And he’s from a wealthy and a good family.” Helen said.
“So you and auntie Kate were talking about marriage. Who found the guy? The young man that you’re talking about.”
“I did, I know his mom. Okay it’s just a blind date and if you don’t like him, no problem. But make sure you go and see him.”
“I’m busy with work and you don’t expect me to go out there when it’s work time.” She replied.
“You know I am a business woman and my business comes first.” She added, looking for way to ignore what her mom said.
“It’s a date. Okay it’s a dinner date, besides you are going there to see him for the first time.” Her mom said.
“I’m supposed to be resting by that time, mom you said that I should have rest, whenever I come back from work. And today, I was planning on having a good rest.” She replied.
“What..? Seriously…”
“You can tell that to someone who doesn’t know you, the real you. Anyways the dinner date has been fixed, make sure you go there by 7pm.”
“Wait, how did you know the time? Since you know the time and address why don’t you go for the dinner date?” Amber said, and chuckled.
“You know it’s not possible, besides am not getting younger. Amber my prayers is that, you will get married to a good man and into a good family. A man who will love and support you, that’s my prayers every morning and every day.”
“I can’t believe that am having this conversation with you.”
“Mom, I love you. I have always love you.” Amber replied, smiling. After spending some time with her, Helen left.
Amber fixed her gaze on the laptop, when a message pop up on the screen on the laptop. She sighed softly.
“I can’t believe, she sent the address through the laptop. What happened to my phone?” She thought.
8pm
Amber drove down to the restaurant, she got down from the car and headed to the restaurant. The waitress directed her to the table.
“Good evening ma’am.” The young lady greeted, sweetly. “Good evening, uhm actually am here to see someone. And I don’t know his name, i mean I haven’t met him before.”
“Oh, you’re Miss Amber, right?” The waitress asked. “Yes.” She replied, without wasting time.
“Okay ma’am, the person you’re looking for is right there. He has been waiting for you.” The waitress replied, pointing at his direction.
“Alright, thanks.” Amber said with a smile and walked to the man. He stood up and offered her a seat. She sat down and brought out her phone. She didn’t look at his face.
“Hi, Amber. We meet again.” He muttered and removed his glasses. She chuckled and stood up.
“Please, please have a seat. Okay. I’m not like every other guy, who’s gonna use and dump you. I have dignity and respect for women.” He uttered, Amber didn’t say a word but other for champagne.
“So how was your day at work?” He asked.
“Cool…” She replied. “Just champagne?” The waitress asked.
“Yeah and I will pay for it.” She replied, the waitress left and some minutes later, she came back with it.
“Hmm, my name is Chisom Nwafor. But you can call me, Chi. Yeah.” He said with a smirk.
“What do you want from me?” She asked, staring at him. “The first time I saw you, I was carried away by your beauty and I love you, your body. You got the body baby, banging body. I can’t stop imagining some crazy stuff, you know between you and I. I swear I want to make you mine.”
“Listen, I know men like you. All you want from a woman is her money, her wealth and you won’t add anything to her life. Expect pain.” Amber grin.
“No, com’on I heard you celebrated your birthday some days ago without a boyfriend. Hey com’on, you can’t be this beautiful and you’re single. And you got no man to serve you down there. I don’t even know, if you have tasted a díçk like mine.”
“I can pay you, after spending a night with you. That’s to show you that am not after your money.'” He added, with a smirk.
Amber looked at away in anger, she bite her lips softly and drank all the content in the glass.
“Do I look like I want your díçk? Men like you won’t stop showing how stupid and useless you are.”
“Alright, I’m sorry. I have been feeling this way for a long time. I’m sorry I said these words to you.”
“Sorry for yourself.” She barked at him and stood up, and was about to leave when he stopped her and once again apologize. Amber agreed to stay with him, even though she never wanted to.
“Excuse me, please. I want to use the restroom.” He mumbled. She only fake smiled at him. He left and asked the waitress for the restroom, she directed him but he insisted that she take him there.
She agreed and she took him to the restroom.
