Simi drove the car to his house, since he didn’t want to go to the hospital. She helped him, while they climbed the stairs.
“Are you sure, that you will be fine? It will be better if I take you to the hospital, so that the doctor will check you up.”
“I’m fine, don’t worry. It’s just a minor stuff, it’s just bruised nothing else. Don’t tell mom about this.”
“Uhm…I don’t think I can keep quiet, you know my mouth is always talking especially when something like this happens.”
“Simi! Simi!! How many times did I call you?” He asked, staring at her. “Two times.” She replied.
“Don’t tell mom about this, I need to freshen up.” He said, she nodded and was about to leave, when he called her back and tipped her. See the smile on her beautiful face, she left his room, thanking him. He smiled.
“I can’t believe that, I was almost hit by a car. Thank God nothing happened.” He muttered.

That same day at night, her mom was discharged. They arrived at their house, Amber went to the cook and prepare her mom’s favorite soup. Egusi (Melon soup) she finished cooking and dished out the soup and semo, just the way her mom would like it.
“Hmm..I can’t remember the last time you prepared something like this.” Derrick mumbled.
“Just looking for what to say..” Amber rolled her eyes. “Don’t listen to him, he always teasing you.”
“I know mom, it’s now his daily work.” Amber replied, smiling. “What..? All am saying is that you’re a good cook.”
“Thanks, please keep quiet and eat.” Amber replied.

After eating, Amber retired back to her bedroom. She glared at the laptop on the table and rolled her eyes.
“I know I’m a workaholic, but not tonight I need to rest and you too needs rest.” She muttered, and raised the duvet to her body as she lay on the bed.
She was about to close her eyes when her phone interrupted, she began furious and grabbed the phone in anger, she glanced at the call and sighed.
“Hello Amber, am sorry I didn’t call you. I was busy.”
“It’s okay.” She mumbled and yawned tiredly. “How’s mom doing? I hope she’s fine?”
“Yeah, she was discharged today.” Amber replied, playing with her fingers. “Alright, we will talk tomorrow. I know that you’re tired.” Kim said.
“Yeah, thanks for caring.” She replied and hung up. She dropped the phone and went back to the bed, but she didn’t get sleep immediately it took some minutes before, she slept off.
Next day, Amber woke up very early she prepared something for breakfast. When she was done, she went to her mother’s room and luckily she is already up, she told her that breakfast is ready.
Her mom’s reaction made her laugh, Helen eyes were wide opened. She looked around the room to be sure that this is coming from her daughter. She nodded and Amber left, Helen went to the bathroom and brushed and washed her face before coming down.
Amber went to her brother’s bedroom, hmm rich man kid. He was still sleeping. She tapped him, but he wasn’t responding to her.
“Derrick, wake up. Breakfast is ready.” She muttered and immediately the young man opened his eyes and sit up.
“Good morning, Mide.” He greeted, with a sleepy eyes. “Good morning, you’re still sleeping when you have papers today.” Amber said.
“I was about to wake up, when you came in.” He defended. “I was about to wake up, when you came in.” She said, in a mockery tone.
“Go brushed and come downstairs for breakfast. Don’t be late.” She said and stood up from the bed.
“Okay, what did you cook for breakfast?” Her brother asked. “When you come downstairs, you will see for yourself.” She replied.
“I know, you prepared something good, my big sis.” He giggled, she couldn’t help but laugh at his mischievous behavior. She left, while he went to the bathroom.

“I hope you like the fried egg and plantain?” She asked, her mom. “Yes, it’s delicious.” Derrick replied, immediately. She looked at him and sighed tiredly. “What?”
“Was I talking to you? Huh? I was talking to my mom, here.” Amber said, looking at him.
“Well, she is my mom too. That’s why I replied and you should have lots of plantain, I know you love plantain so much.” Derrick mumbled and smiled.
“He’s right, com’on have some too. You’re now becoming the woman I want you to be, you will live long.” Helen muttered, smiling.
“Derrick how was your exam? I’m sorry I interrupted.” Helen apologized. “No mom, it’s fine besides you’re more important.” He said.

After eating, Amber helped her mom to her room, she gave her some medicine described by the doctor, she took the meds. After some minutes, she laid on the bed, while Amber left her room.
Derrick left the house and Amber quickly dressed up and left the house, while she was driving she remembered the incident that happened on her way to the hospital, she drove passed there and made a revise to the spot, she came down and asked someone if the man that was almost hit by a car was taken to the hospital. But the man said no. She became worried about it, because she didn’t get to see his face only the girl. Who called him, bro.
“Gosh, I’m so stupid. I almost killed someone yesterday. God, I hope that he’s fine.” She prayed silently as walked to her car.
She went to her office, to continue from where they stopped yesterday. Some minutes later, they rounded up. She shook hands with the business partner, with smiles on her face.
They left, she went to her office and Kim was already there waiting for her. “Hey babe..”
“What’s up?” Kim said, smiling. “I’m good and you.”
“I’m fine, seems like you’ve gotten another contract. With this your designs, and I saw the one you posted on Instagram, it has alot of likes.”
“Yeah, that’s why the contract was here and it’s here to stay.” Amber said, smiling.
“I’m so happy for you, babe.” Kim replied. “Nne, I’m the happiest woman on earth. I was on this stuff, when I got a call. I said myself that the devil is a liar, this contract belongs to me.”
“So what would like to have?”
“Uhm, nothing. I’m good.” Kim replied. “Seriously, com’on nah. You’re in my office and you should have something, uhm your bestie here has the contract so say what you want. I will send someone to go bring it.”
“Are you shy?” Amber asked, looking at her. Kim chuckled softly, “Of course I know you aren’t. So what do you want?” Amber asked. Kim told her the things she wanted, Amber place a call and ordered for champagne.
“What about that guy, you went to meet at the restaurant?”
“Kim, that man is shameless. He’s the worst man I’ve ever came across, you won’t even believe what he did.”
“What did he do? Did he try to molest you?” Kim asked,
“He wouldn’t try that, I personally will have his @$$ in jail, I don’t care how rich he is. I will deal with him.”
“So what did he do?”
“I caught him, having séx with a waitress.” She said, looking away. “What..? What kind of stupid man is that? How could he do that?”
“My dear, I won’t blame him. I won’t blame my mom either, sometimes things are made to happen, so that we will learn.”
“So what are you learning from this?” Kim asked, confused. “Living my life, the way I want. Keeping men away from my sight. And besides they were never on my sight.”
“Don’t tell me that, please. Because this one failed doesn’t mean others will. There’s someone destined for you.”
“Thank you, Seer. The great seer.” Amber hailed in a funny way. “I’m serious, you think everything is a joke.” Kim rolled.
“Did I say something wrong, now? I was just hailing you. So how’s Femi doing?”
“He’s fine, still on the wedding stuff.” Kim muttered. “It’s nothing to worry about, everything is covered.”
“Are you nervous? Com’on it’s your big day sis. I can’t wait to see you in that luxury gown.”
“I’m thinking about the wedding night, Amber.” She mumbled and fold her lips. “What? Wait, don’t tell me that you are scared. You signed up for it, so you’re giving it to him.”
“No problem, just make sure you caught that flowers. You’re the next in line.”
“Seer, I respect you..” Amber said, jokingly. “Have you called mom to know how she’s doing?”
“No, I will do later.” Amber replied.
“Are you sure?” Kim asked. “Yeah.” Amber replied.
“Alright, I have to go now.” Kim mumbled. “Oh..did you come with your car?” Amber asked.
“No, Femi’s car. Ehn what about the birthday present, the car he gifted you?” Kimberly asked.
“I thought, we’ve talked about this, I gave it to my brother. I don’t need it.” Amber said, bluntly.
“Alright, madam. I will take my leave take care of mom and yourself.” Kim said and left her office.
