Amber could help but join him laughing, she tried to sit up. “Babe, relax.” He said, concerned.
“Alright. Have you called mom? Simi? Or Derrick?” She asked. “No, I didn’t call anyone before leaving the house. I was only thinking about you.” He said and remembered the slap she gave him.
“Did you know that you slapped you? Gosh it was so painful, but the pain you were feeling at that moment was much, no wonder you reflect it on me.” He said and frowns.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know that it will lead to it. And mom didn’t explain more about this delivery, but I’m happy that it was a safe delivery.” She said.
“Me too.” He said with a smile. “Are you hungry?” He asked.
“No, I think all I need now is sleep. I want to have some rest, it’s 12am already, don’t forget to call moms, Simi and Derrick.” She said.
“Alright, I will. Have some rest.” He said and kissed her lips slightly as he caress her softly cheeks.
“Finally, I think this whole sleepless nights is over.” He thought and smiled, sheepishly.
He dance and danced, Amber smiled and closed her eyes as the sleep hits her badly.
Kunle called her mom, she picked up wondering why she he was calling her by this time. “Hello mom, good morning.”
“Good morning, my dear. What’s the matter?” She muttered, with a gloomy eyes.
“Ehn, mommy Amy has given birth to….what? Ahh! Praise to the Lord, thank you father.” She cut him off, happily danced and sang songs of praises to God for listening to her prayers.
“How’s she doing, my dear?”
“She’s fine.”
“And the baby?” She asked.
“He’s fine mom, and they sleeping I would have given her phone so that you can talk to her.” He glanced at her, sleeping peacefully.
“It’s okay, my dear. Please take care of yourself and I will be there tomorrow morning.” She said.
“No problem mom.”
“Don’t forget to tell your mom about this good news, she will be very happy as I am.” Helen said, happily.
“No problem mom, Oshey ma.” He said and hang up. He called his mom and told her about the good news, she was very happy.
“Mom, easy you’ll come over tomorrow to see her.” He said, smiling. “Ahh, finally I’m now a granny.” She said, happily.
“Of course, you are.” He replied.
“God, I thank you for safe delivery. Hey!, see me. The latest grandma in town.” She said, happily.
“Ehn, mom. I know you’re very happy about this,don’t forget to get some sleep. Okay, you’ll be here tomorrow to see her.” He said.
“Yes,my son. Have you called Helen?” She asked.
“Yes, mom.” He replied. “Ahh, thank you Lord.” She said, happily. “Mom, I will hang up now.” He said.
“It’s okay, I will tell your sister about this good news. Take care my dear.” She said and he hang up.
Kunle’s heart was filled with happiness, he sat on the couch in the ward. He slept off, while staring at his wife.

As early as 7am they were already in the hospital, Kunle’s phone rang so that he can take them to the ward. He picked up and kissed his wife before leaving the ward, he saw them coming the doctor who help to deliver Amber’s baby directed them, Kunle showed them to the ward.
Amber mom and his mom walked into the ward, by then Amber is already awake. She smiled on seeing her mom and her mother in law.
“Mom!” She called her mom. “Yes, my love. How’re you doing?” She asked.
“I’m fine mom.” She replied. “I hope it wasn’t that painful?” Tricia, her mother in law asked, she smiled and shook her head negatively.
“Congratulations Amy.” Derrick said.
“Thank you.” She replied.
“He’s so cute, and he got your eyes Amy.” Simi said, smiling. “Really?” She questioned and looked at her husband, who was smiling.
“Babe!” She called him. “Yes!” He answered and pulled a chair, holding her hand. “Do you want anything?”
“I want to say thank you for not giving up on me.” She said, he wiped the tears on her cheeks.
“Don’t shed a single tears,I love you.” He said and kissed her lips, she reciprocate.
“Awwn, I love this.” Simi giggles and held Derrick, he smiled and kissed cheek.
“Mom is here.” He whispered,she smiled. “I love you.” She muttered. “I love you too.” He replied.

Tricia glanced at Amy and Kunle’s, “Kunle!” She called.
“Yes, mom.” He answered.
“Has Amy eaten?” She asked. “Oh…I forgot.” He replied, scratching hair. “I was carried away by happiness.” He said.
“It’s not his fault, I didn’t tell him that I’m hungry.” She depended him. Helen looked at her, “I know, don’t forget that you’ve given birth and you should always eat good and nutritious meal, because you’ll Brë@štfeeding your baby.” Her mom said.
“Alright, mom.” She replied. “Let’s go get the food.” Derrick said. “Okay, what will you like to eat?”
“I need hot rice and stew. With a lot of fried plantains.” She said. “Gbam! You’re back to your normal self.” He said.
“Mom, he’s making fun of me.” Amy complaining to her mother in law, she gave him Kunle a deadly glares, he smiled and left with Derrick to get the food.
Kunle and Derrick came back with the food, a lot of nylon containing different food, Kunle bought two for Amy, the same meal.
He gave the food, she finished it and he gave her another one, she declined it. He thought maybe it’s because of everyone is around.
He whispered to her, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m filled, I don’t want to eat again.” She muttered. “Okay.” He said.

Amy was discharged from the hospital, they got home. She walked into the house, while Kunle was carrying the baby. Simi carried the other baby stuff.
They went into the room, Kunle lay the baby on the cot.
“You’re welcome back, babe.” He said and kissed cheek.
Amber’s friends came to the as they got the good news, she was very happy to see them.
“Your baby is cute.” Stacy said, smiling.
“Thank you.” Amy replied. “You’re now a mom, be good and take care of this lil man, he looks like you.”
“Why’s everyone saying that? He looks like me.” Amy said, smiling. “Because you are his mom.”
They spent some time with her, before leaving.

Amber’s mother came the next day, she told her about the hot water things, most African are familiar with it.
Helen woke Amy up, they went into the bathroom together, Amy saw the bucket of hot water and a bowl of water hot. And before I forget a small kitchen chair.
“Mom, it’s too hot.” Amy said, already scared.
“Come sit on it…it’s for your good. It will help you, so that you can heal faster.” Her mom said.
While her mother in law was in the kitchen, she was cooking. She dished out the meal and told Kunle to carry it to the room. He carried it to the room, he opened the door and dropped the food, he heard screaming coming from the bathroom, he walked closer and the little he could capture was his wife sitting on a bucket and the vapor of the hot water was coming out.
He felt for her. He ran his hands on his hair and sighed heavily, he sat on the couch, but the scream was too much he couldn’t bear it anymore.
He left.
“Mom, please it’s okay.” She pleaded as her mom dip the towel in the bowl and brought it closer to V, she held her hand trying to stop her. She removed her hand from hers, touch the towel on her V, she screamed out.
“Ahh, mom. This is…..pain.” She said and tears fell from her eyes. Her mom smiled at her and apologized.
“Don’t worry you’ll be fine.”
“Will you do this tomorrow morning?” She asked, staring at her. “Well, yes. For two weeks.” Helen said.
“Ahh, mom. It’s too much nah.” She mumbled.
Helen sighed heavily, “I’m done for today, till tomorrow morning.” Her mom said.
Helen bathe her and tied the towel on her body, they came out the bathroom.
She dressed up, and went to her baby who was still sleeping peacefully. “When will he wake up?” She asked, her mom.
She smiled, and walked to her as Amy was staring at her baby. “I was in this shoes, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to check if you are still breathing. Or Derrick.” She said.
“That’s crazy..”
“Yeah, I know. But imagine the pain a woman lost her child after carrying her baby for nine or ten months.”
“That’s sad.”
“Exactly, the baby is your joy and don’t worry with time you’ll understand what I’m talking about.” Her mom said, smiling.
“Go sit down and eat, Tricia will be here anytime and she won’t like it if you’re not eating, whereas there’s food here.”
“Thank you mom, you’re the best.” She said with a smile.
