(*Come to me now??…*)

“Deal? What sort of deal is that?” He asked with her breath so close to his face, he didn’t help but notice her lips. He heaved, “What are you saying? I don’t understand.”

“You don’t? You paged me three days ago and tell me you love me. Why would you do that?”

“And I’ve been paging you since then and you never bothered to even look at it not to speak of taking it. Did you even reply to any of my texts at all?” He was pissed, “Yeah! because am that insignificant to you.”

She creased up her face,”You have no rights to get angry at me Dee.” She pointed at herself, “I’m the one who should be angry and not you!” she yelled.

He began to pace around the room trying to control himself. To control the anger which clutched around his throat, the moment he set his eyes on her.

“Would you even believe any word I say? Would you even listen when I speak?”

“This is not what we should be talking about Dee! I’m talking about your misconduct! I’m talking about what you think of me. Why you said those words so carelessly, as if you were trying to save me from shame! I know that Jeff, is not doing a good job at all. Always hurting me and making me feel bad but” She sobered, “…I never told you to…”

“Carelessly?” he interrupted deeply hurt by her words. Why do they hurt so much? “You know what? … just leave.”

“Leave? I show up at your place and you tell me to leave?”

“Yes, because if you don’t…” he swallowed his words.

“If I don’t? You will hit me hunh! Wow! It never occured to me that you hit women now. Wow!” she clapped her hands feigning laughter. She advanced closer to him. Her eyes burning into his, she held the collar of his shirt again, “Hit me! I want to see you do it.”

“I won’t hit you, so please, leave. You wouldn’t want me to tell Jeff that you’re here.”

“What? Stop bringing Jeff into this.” she warned.

“I have to.”

“Why? You…” He kissed her roughly. He rolled his tongue against hers pressing her into his body. She wriggled, she wanted to get away from his hold. But, she began to kiss back and to gather him closer and tighter to her own skin.

He pushed her off.

“Go.” he said.

She smacked her lips, her gaze was on his lips. How swollen and pinkish! She really wanted to kiss him again.

“Why would I go? I’m sleeping here tonight.”

“You don’t dare.”

She chuckled. “Why? You don’t want me to stay?”

“You have a boyfriend. Know when to set your limits.”

“Limits?” she gasped in surprise, “And you kissed me!?”

“And I can kiss you again. An attractive woman is right here infront of me and you think I won’t do that? I’m a man yunno.”

She giggled. “When did you start being a man since we knew each other? What? Attractive?” she laughed, ” You’re not kidding me right?”

“Does it matter? I’ve always seen you as a woman.” he said sternly.

She began to laugh. It felt good. Having this sort of heated conversation with him. Otherwise, she won’t have known about what he thinks of her in the least.

“You’ve always seen me as a woman?” she asked.

“Yes, I love women.” He snapped and brushed past her, heading to his bar stand. She frowned. He loves women? Oh, that part didn’t cross her mind at all. How flirty and Sh|tty he could be.

She seem to forget all his sëxual escapades with several women. And De_ra who is in the picture now. She sighed and followed him to the bar stand. She grabbed a seat and a wine glass. She served herself some wine, she took a sip and then sighed out.

“We don’t really need to fight Dee.”

“Really?”

“Yes. We’ve been friends for so long to start being childish now.” He dropped his wine glass on the table noisily glaring at her. What did she do again this time. What did she say?

“You…childish?” he asked, almost loosing his breath, “Everything I say, everything I do, you…” he paused touching his forehead. The wrinkles on his forehead seem to multiply each time she utters a harsh word.

“Why do you always see it the wrong way? I tell you that…” he paused and looked away from her face. “I LOVE YOU and you don’t even believe me. You think am being sympathetic! Because of what?”

“Dee wait…”

“Oh, because I’m not up to your standards. You prefer to keep me as your best friend than to date me?”

She shook her head repeatedly. She was in a daze and her heart beat quickened.

“No, that’s not true Dee. I just…”

“Yeah, you always think for me. Things I do and things I didn’t do, right from high school!” he yelled deeply stressed out. He scratched his hair repeatedly.

“Then why did you hold it in?”

“Hold it in? You being serious right now? Must I really say the I LOVE YOU word before you see that I really do.”

“Yes! You should’ve told me!”

Silence. Both panted for breath, “Since when?” She suddenly asked, he looked up to her face biting his lower lips.

“Maybe since high school but I realized that I did, two years ago…when I saw you with Mark.”

“Mark??” she gulped.

“Yes, your ex. That’s when I realized that I really did.”

“Two years!!”

“I said it’s way longer than that.”

She stood up nervously shaking her head. No. He watched her closely and made her sit on his lap. “What if…” He circled his arms around her waist pulling her into his skin, “What if I told you that I’ve been in love with you since… Maybe the first day that I met you?”

“But you didn’t…” She pushed him off almost crushing down in tears, “Why are you telling me about this now? I’m getting married to Jeff by next week!”

He gulped, that can’t be true. She’s joking right now.

“Don’t marry him. Come to me now. I think I’ve loved you enough.”

She shook her head. She pushed him away and bolted out through the door…
