“It’s fine. No matter what, I love you.” she said and he was relieved. He hugged her. “If you keep on trusting and forgiving me like this, I swear, I’m never gonna hurt you babe.” he promised.
She chuckled pushing him away, “I waited for you. The pizza got cold.” she pouted.
“Pizza? What’s it with pizza today?”
“What?”
“Even De_ra ordered pizza for me …”
She sprang up and: “Let’s go eat out. Bill on me.”she interrupted.
He laughed. “Same thing she said when I said that I don’t want pizza.”
She frowned. “What do you want to eat. Promise to make it now!” she said heading away but he caught her and back hugged her.
“You don’t have to. It’s too late already.”
“I still have to cook.”
“Are you that jealous?”
“I’m not jealous. I just…”
He giggled behind her. “See? Even your face says it all. You’re so jealous right now.”
She wriggled off him. “I’m not.” she headed upstairs while he followed her. “You’re so jealous right now!”
“I’m not! Why would I be jealous of her? Tch! I have some important things to do than to be jealous. ” she replied as she walked into his bedroom.
He followed her in and closed the door quietly, “Tell me…”
“It’s okay.” she snapped rolling her eyes nervously around her socket.
She was jealous. She couldn’t hide that from him. He stepped closer and kissed her forehead. “Let’s go to bed.” he whispered.
Her cheeks heated up. She blushed.”It’s too early to sleep now.” she managed to reply.
He raised her right palm to his lips. “Then what do we do my angel?” he kissed her palm.
“Let’s watch some movies.”
“Movies? Yes, I was gonna see one with you but, I didn’t try so hard to get a ticket.”
“And why didn’t you try so hard to get a ticket for us?”
“Because I want to be home like this with you.” she mumbled looking at the floor. She can’t believe she have become someone who’d stoop so low because of a man. But it feels good. Especially because it’s him.
He touched her jaw and lifted her face up to look at him.”I’m sorry I made you wait so long for me. I promise to be home if that’s what you want at all times.”
She smiled. “Now let’s go watch some movie.” she said and went out while he followed her again.

Curled up in his arms, they watched the TV.
“Why is he yelling at her like that?” she asked Dee as the major actor on TV kept shouting at his girlfriend non-stop.
“That’s because he loves her.” he replied.
She scoffed. “That’s not it. He h@tës her so much else, he won’t yell and get angry at every little thing she does.”
“You don’t get it.”
“I do. He’s one of the worst guys in the world. Why be so displeased with wh@tëver she does?”
He peered into her face. “Why are you so pissed off?”
“I h@të guys who make girls feel like Sh|t.” She replied with so much disgust written all over her face.
“Then did I make you feel like Sh|t each time I yelled at you?”he asked.
She nodded her head. “Yes.” she paused. They watched the movie for about ten minutes before she continued. “I always felt like you h@tëd me so much each time you open your mouth and run it at me.”
His eyes almost popped out. “Did you just say run?”
“Yes,” she sat up from his laps. “Grow up! Hey Diane, are you a kid? Hey Diane! I wonder when you will act like a woman.” she mimed him.
“I never knew I pose and act like that.”
“Well now you know.”
“But that because I love you.”
“Then your love is weird. Why yell at someone you love?”
“That’s because…it’s just so hard to believe that you love someone. You try so hard to not do it. And when it occurs to you that it’s like a beautiful stain which never washes away, reality hits you and then you get so angry whenever you see that person making you feel so vulnerable.”
He held her shoulder and made her rest her head on his chest. “Then, you will want to protect that person but you don’t know how to do so. And you can hardly control yourself whenever someone tries to mess with her. You get more angry when she keep on making wrong choices and being so stubborn.”
He changed the channel to TV news channel.
“Election happening in Nigeria today. Peter Obi who is a president aspirant in Nigeria with his party being Labour party (LP) keep winning in all polling units though there places where the Nigerian citizens are so scared of. Maybe the election is gonna be rigged…”
His phone started ringing. De_ra was calling.
Diane saw it but pretended not to have seen his phone. He wanted to ignore her call but couldn’t.
“I’m sorry but am gonna take this call.” he apologized and grabbed his phone.
“Yes, hello. Why are you calling?”
“Are you watching the news?” she asked him.
“Yes.”
“Okay, I think I’ve got an idea on how to make this our business more global. Both DD’s cosmetics and Dee Marius perfumes depends on this.”
“Okay. So what’s the news got to do with this?”
“Can you make a meeting sit tonight?”
“Are you insane? It’s too late.”
“Just Ten O’ clock.”
“Can you please tell me about this your business idea first?”
“That election happening in Nigeria, I know, we are so late and I realized it so late too but, I think we need to support that man. Invest in him, he will be surprised that an American company as far in as New York is investing and supporting him. When he wins, we can try entering Nigerian market.”
He was surprised. How did that idea come to her head. Just as he was getting so worked up and disturbed about the move of things in his company, her mind found this idea.
“Great idea! How did you kick on this!”
“No time to be happy. We have until today ends to do it. By tomorrow, it might be so late.”
“Okay, I’m gonna get off the phone. I need to page my secretary about this. We need to sit for a meeting with the board members and every one working in the company tonight.”
“Okay” she said while he hung up. He came back and saw Diane already sleeping. He hurried upstairs and grabbed his coat since it’s gonna be so chilly outside. He wore it and grabbed a blanket. He put on his boots and grabbed his car keys.
He went downstairs and went over to Diane’s side. He covered her up with the blanket up to her neck level and then kissed her forehead.
“Heading out?” her eyes sprawled open.
He nodded his head.”There’s an urgent business that I really need to take care of.”
“It’s too late. Can you please not go? ”
“I’m sorry but I need to. Don’t worry but I’m gonna be back before you know it.”
“It’s De_ ra again, right?”
