5 HOURS LATER**
Maureen was seen running into a funeral house. Her hair is tied into her pony. Her trousers is black and her jacket too. She’s wearing a black stiletto heel.
“Maureen” Desmond called and she stopped.
She quickly went to him.
“What’s up?” She asked.
Desmond shook his head.
“As if Whitney leaving us unexpectedly without saying a thing wasn’t enough. Now, John’s- She paused and wiped her tears
“Where are they?” She asked.
“There” Clark pointed.
Maureen breathed deeply and slowly walked to the hall where the two brothers were.
They were dropping flowers close to the coffin.
“Hey” She whispered to them both and they looked at her.
Ricardo came to them and forced a
dry smile.
“I’m their father” He introduced.
“Yes, I know. I’m Maureen. Jayden’s course mate and friend and I’m John’s…” She stopped halfway.
“I’m John’s friend too” She muttered.
“Thanks for coming. I appreciate” He whispered and left when he saw few of his fellow assemblymen coming.
John glanced at her.
“How did you know?” He whispered.
“Why ask? Its obvious. It’s all over the news and net” She replied.
Maureen looked at Jayden. His eyes were down.
“Its better you don’t talk to him” John muttered, his eyes blessed with abundant tears.
“He is shaken up by Whitney’s sudden departure” He added
Maurren took her gaze back to John.
“I know I h@tëd my mum but I never wished for her to end like this. She could have fought it till the very end” He muttered, letting the tears go.
“Maureen” He held her hands.
“I don’t wanna lose you either. I thought about it and I don’t wanna leave anymore. I wanna stay with you forever” He said, breathlessly.
“No..” Maureen whispered, taking her hand off.
“Maybe back then, I was right. Maybe we aren’t meant for each other. From henceforth, John. We aren’t dating. We aren’t a couple. We are exes… We mean nothing to each other”
“Then, why are you crying?” He whispered, wiping her tears. She quickly slapped his hand away.
“I told you before…never wipe off my tears…ever. Do what makes you happy, John and I will do what makes me happy and breaking up with you makes me relieved. I’m here cause of this incident and that’s all. This is our end. Goodbye” She forced a smile.
A MONTH LATER**
BERLIN*GERMANY**
Shannon eyes were out of the sport car. Whitney did the driving. The radio was on, playing cool music that suited the weather back to back.
Liam, however is still in class, in highschool.
Whitney sighed and faced her mum. She’s on sun glasses. She has always been on glasses since they moved to Germany.
“I thought I was the sick one. Why am I driving?” Whitney asked.
Shannon ignored her.
“Hmph. What a mum you are” Whitney muttered.
“Mum?” Whitney whispered.
Shannon turned to her.
“You aren’t crying…are you?”
Shannon laughed lowly, now facing her.
“No. Why would I?”
Whitney looked down, then back to the road.
“The tears are sliding down your glasses” She muttered.
“Oh” Shannon sniffed and wiped it off.
“That was awkward” She forced a smile and wore the glasses.
“Mum?, You need to stop and move on…please. Doing all this won’t rise Noel from the dead, you know”
“I feel bad…very bad… I’m so gross” Shannon snarled.
“And why do you say so?” Whitney asked, and pulled in front of the hospital.
“He died cause of me. If I was never a seductress or wh@tëver, maybe I wouldn’t be in this…. mess?, Maybe Noel wouldn’t be dead”
“You can’t undo it. Anyways, I warned you” Whitney said.
They were both walking through the hospital corridor now.
“You don’t have to remind me” Shannon hissed.
“Mum?… Here, car keys for you” Whitney handed the keys to her.
“Oh no. I ain’t driving”
“You are” Whitney said.
“I’m the sick one” She added.
“I ain’t driving, period. What if my tears smear my eyesight. That bad, you know” Shannon said, and kept the keys inside Whitney’s jean pocket
“Mum!!!” She wriggled, angrily.
AN HOUR LATER* DOCTOR’S OFFICE**
“So, what’s my daughter deal?” Shannon asked the male doctor sitting across them.
The doctor adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat.
“Here it is. Her test results. It is said,,, that your daughter is 2 months pregnant…
“Pregnant?” Shannon laughed.
“Who?” She asked, taking her glass down.
“One Miss Whitney Kennerson” He gestured at Whitney.
Shannon looked at Whitney who had no expression and had nothing to say.
“What’s up, Jayden” Shannon smirked.
Whitney took her face away.
“You’re just like me, naughty” She scoffed.
Whitney gave a louder scoff.
“Don’t worry, I’m gonna drive. We don’t want the baby getting any problem, huh?” Shannon winked and took the keys from her.
Whitney bit her bottom lip and looked further away from her mother.
She slowly took her eyes down and faced her tummy.
She rubbed it and never realized when a smile ran across her lips, despite her misty eyes.
9 YEARS LATER**
SEASON BANK**
“I’m not late, am I?” Whitney smiled, going into her counter. She was just coming from the restroom.
“Quite” Her partner, Celine smiled back.
They were both bankers… and they were attending to their clients and customers, alongside the other bankers.
“Huh?” Whitney suddenly remembered.
“Where’s my son? Where’s Michael??” She asked, looking around.
“Someone took him” Celine answered, flatly.
“What!! Who??”
“Some lady”
“Are you crazy? Why would you allow that?” Whitney ran off the counter.
“The little lad wanted to pee and I was busy. I asked the lady in cooperate wear to take him to the bathroom. Darn, I never did anything wrong”
“Michael!!!!” Whitney kept calling.
“Mum!!” A sweet, cute voice sounded at the other side and Whitney heaved.
