She entered the house and her eyes met with her mother’s who was staring at the door as though she knew she was coming soon.
“Mom,” she called slowly
“Go and shower and come back here immediately,” Mrs Knight turned and left.
Whitney bit her lips and turned to the path which led to her room.
She entered and quickly do her things
The door opened and Wendy showed up.
“Big sis are you okay”Wendy asked
“I’m fine baby”Whitney replied
” Dad and Mom need to speak with you,”Wendy said and left the room.
Whitney shook her head. She stood up and went out of the room.
“Dad!” She smiled when she saw her father in the living room.
Mr Knight simply smiled.
“I heard what happened from your Mom, was that true?” He asked.
“Yes,” Whitney answered
“I still found it hard to believe you girls fight over a boy ?” Mrs Knight scoffed in disbelief.
“Is that why we sent you girls to school,you girls are still young” She added
“I’m nineteen and I’m old enough to start making decisions for my self . For crying out loud, I’m not six years old!” Whitney Sh|t frustratingly.
“Are you tryna talk back to me right now?” Mrs Knight said.
“You shouldn’t be doing this right now,” Mr. Knight said.
There was a knock on the door.
The door opened and Lightney walked in then Whitney rolled her eyes
“Betrayal”she mumbled
Lightney sighed silently immediately she saw her father she knows there’s trouble already
“Good afternoon dad,mom”Lightney greeted
What was she up to actually? Playing the victim card or what?
“Mom,” Lightney said hugging her
Mrs Knight sighed and pushed her away from her slightly.
“This is not the time for this, we need to talk” she said.
Lightney bit her lips gently. She glanced at Whitney to find her staring at her, slowly she looked away.
Mrs Knight folds her arms across her chest and breathes out loudly.
“I believe you know why I called for this meeting, isn’t it?” She started.
Lightney lowered her head and didn’t utter a word.
“Let’s have our seat first, then we can discuss,” Mr Knight said.
“Do you know what I’m glad for right now?” Mr. Knight asked after they’ve all settled down.
“I’m glad Karina told me before it get too late?” He said
“Firstly, I never knew my daughters are fighting because of a boy. I mean, at this age?” Mrs Knight scoffed.
“We’re 19 Mom,”Whitney interrupted, rolling her eyes.
Mrs Knight ignored her and continued.
“And then… You slapped your sister?”
“I wouldn’t say it was a mistake, Mom” Whitney muttered.
“What?”
“I know no amount of words would take back what I did, but what I know is that it wasn’t a mistake,” Whitney mumbled.
“I love him. I’ve always did since the day I set my eyes on him. But I have to act like I don’t so I could know his true feelings for me but my so called sister went behind my back to snatch him from me I was heartbroken. I later found out they aren’t dating but Faking it to let me fall for him,then I decided to give him a chance,then I find out my sister is also in love with him” she sniffed.
Lightney sat there, trying to register what she just heard in her brain. Whitney loves Lucas? Like she does?
“I love him, Mom” Whitney sobbed
“I really can’t believe this right now. Even if you love him, does that mean you have to fight your sister ? For Pete’s sake, you two are sisters! How could you do that to her? You grew up together, you literally do every single thing together, Lightney has sacrificed many things to you yet you could do something that outrageously to her??” Mrs Knight half yelled.
“I’m sorry, Mom” Whitney sobbed.
“If someone is to be blamed for this, then it’s you I perfectly understand Lightney’s plight but the wrong thing here was fighting your sister That was totally wrong, I’m disappointed in you actually cos we didn’t raised you this way” Mr Knight said
“But, if we do look at the other side of it, then it’s actually your fault. You could have let him know you love him instead of acting like he’s your worst enemy”Mrs Knight said
“And you…” She turned to Lightney
“How long were you trying to keep this from me, huh? Till forever, huh? Till when it becomes too late and you both become sworn enemies?” She asked.
“I….” Lightney trailed off not knowing what to say. She glanced at Whitney who was still in tears and somehow she felt bad. She didn’t even know her twin sister was in love with Lucas and she knowingly dated him even though it’s fake
Now, she understood why she couldn’t bring herself to h@të her even after everything
“And do you know your punishment?” Mrs. Knight asked.
Whitney stared at her through her tear stained eyes.
“This ain’t the time for tears, White. You need to do what’s right, and mind you… I won’t forgive you for this, I’m so very disappointed in you,” Mrs. Knight said.
Whitney’s face dropped and she quickly got to her feet, she went to her and held her arm
“I’m sorry, Mom.Please don’t be mad at me, I won’t do it again,” she said.
Mrs Knight glanced at her husband who only nodded his head
“Fine. Just do it ever again cos I won’t take it easy with you then,” she muttered.
Whitney smiled widely and kissed her cheek.
“Thank you,mom. I love you!” She faced Mr. Knight too.
“I love you, Dad!” She smiled.
“That’s not over,” Mrs. Knight suddenly said.
“You two…. Can’t believe you both were trying to become enemies without informing us, who does that?” She scoffed.
“You’re to stay in the same room for a week,” Mrs. Knight announced.
“What?” Whitney shouted.
“Exactly what you heard. You’ll be going to school together and come back home together till the one week is over, or two weeks?” Mr Knight said.
“Dad!”Lightney shouted, stomping her feet on the ground
“A week is okay, honey. They just need to reflect on their mistakes” Mrs Knight smiled.
“Gosh, can’t believe you two. Kids nowadays” she shook her head and stood up.
“Light…. I don’t want to ever see you with any guy again, and you too White,” Mr Knight said.
“I’m gonna kill them if they do so,” Mrs Knight yelled as she made her way to the kitchen.
“We won’t, Dad,” Whitney smiled.
“Good. Now to your room!” Mr. Knight said.

Whitney entered the room with Lightney behind her. She couldn’t believe they would be sleeping in the same room for a week.
The room suddenly felt awkward with the silence that ensued between them.
Lightney cleared her throat when she noticed Whitney’s stares on her.
“I’ll be in the restroom” she mumbled.
She was walking to the bathroom when Whitney hugged her from behind.
“I’m sorry,” Whitney apologized.
“For slapping you and calling you names, for everything” she muttered.
Lightney faced her and held her hands.
“You should have told me,” she said gently.
“It must have been hard for you, isn’t it?” She asked softly.
Whitney shook her head and tears streamed down her cheeks.
She pulled Lightney to a hug.
“It’s hard,” she whispered.
Lightney sighed and started patting her back slowly with her palm
“It’s okay,” she consoled.
“I’m sorry for everything,pearl,” Whitney said. pearl is the name she personally gave to Lightney.
“It’s been long since you called me that,” Lightney smiled softly.
Whitney sniffed.
“I love you,” she mumbled
“And I do too, big head”Lightney chuckled
“You can have Lucas all to your self okay,I won’t fight you” Whitney said
“No he’s yours just don’t let us fight over him anymore,he should choose who he want between us”Lightney said
“Yeah he should”Whitney smiled
