“Anita!!!” Lotus shouted and for a while, a short wind blew, Anita was gone when it stopped.
“No, no she’s my only companion, she’s my only one… Anita” she cried slowly .
She squatted and continued crying silently, burying her face in her knees.
“eonni” Anita’s voice called and she stopped crying suddenly, she looked up to see Anita standing in front of her.
“Anita!” She stood, rushing to her.
She carried her off the ground, hugging her tightly.
“Anita don’t go” she sobbed, rubbing her hair.
“I hope I don’t get punished by the heavens for doing this” the grim reaper said and Lotus quickly looked up to see him.
“I’ve decided to give her more time” he said.
“Thanks, I’m so grateful , thanks for not taking her away” Lotus said and he vanished.
“I was so scared, I didn’t want to leave you yet” Anita said as Lotus rubbed her face.
“I love you little one” she said.
“I love you too Lotus” Anita smiled, wiping Lotus’s tears.
“But your tears have a distinct scent” she said, sniffing the air.
“Really?” Lotus asked.
Anita wiped the last trace of tears on Lotus’s face and made her sniff the scent.
It smells exactly like the scent she smells from Starr.
“Why is my tears smelling like him?” She wondered.
“Who?”
“Starr, one of the friends I made” Lotus replied curiously.
“There’ll surely be a reason, and do you know what the name of this scent is?” Anita asked.
“No”
“Pomelo” Anita said .
“Pomelo?”
“Yes” Anita smiled.
“Let’s proceed with our walk, no grim reaper to take you away anymore” Lotus said, putting her down.
Anita led the way while Lotus followed.
The bright streetlights and the moon sitting on the sky plus the stars kept fascinating her and she won’t stop staring at everything.
The passerbys kept looking at her, wondering if she’s deranged as she talked alone since Anita is invisible to humans.
They finally got to a site where spoilt cars were stacked and amidst the cars is a totally burnt one.
Anita pointed at it.
“I was burnt with that car last week Thursday” she said.
“Why?”
“I saw how one of my classmates pushed my best friend down the school stairs and killed her just because she mistakenly bumped into her, she knew I saw her and threatened me not to talk so I was so scared, I even fell sick cos of the fear that she might kill me too…so on Thursday I decided to go watch the kids who do play at the park not far from my house, I spent just ten minutes there before deciding to go home but on my way back I was kidnapped and taken to a secluded part of the street, I was thrown into this car which has already been wet with gasoline, it was set on fire and I…. burnt till death” Anita said sadly.
“Who exactly ordered the kidnap?” Lotus asked.
“Mr Do, the killer’s dad” Anita replied.
“Where are your parents?” Lotus asked.
“Can we teleport?”
“Yes, my magic will make us, just tell me where your house is” Lotus replied .
Anita said it and Lotus held her hand, it only took a sec before they appeared in front of an house.
A big mansion.
Lotus made herself invisible and they went in together.
The couple are still in the living room, crying devastatingly.
Anita’s pictures is everywhere in the living room walls, both the personals and the ones she took with her parents.
She’s obviously the only child.
Anita cried sadly as she watched her parents cry in such state.
Lotus placed a comforting hand on her, determined to make the so-called Mr Do and his daughter pay for their crimes.
She made them land at home and luckily she was able to make her stop crying then she put her to bed and came downstairs.
The wet ground made her know that goddess Rivera is around.
She ran to the living room and met her sitting magnificently on a couch.
“Goddess!” Lotus bowed.
“It’s not something you can interfere in” Rivera replied.
“But she was killed unjustly, her parents are still wailing and crying, I can’t just watch goddess, I’ve come to love her so much” Lotus replied.
“You love easily, will you really be able to let her go when the grim reaper comes back?” Rivera asked, facing her.
“For now, I just want to revenge for her”
“And I told you not to interfere, don’t meddle with humans, it’s dangerous, your fate is already cruel, do you want it to become crueller?” Rivera replied.
“Goddess I really don’t mind, I just want to….help her”
“You’re really stubborn aren’t you?, Are you interested in knowing why you can’t sing as a human?” Rivera asked.
“Why can’t I?”
“The moment you start singing, your cruel fate will start manifesting, do you really want to do this?”
“Goddess I want to sing, I want to sing as a human, I really need to, I don’t care about the cruel fate anymore, it’s already cruel to be banished from Quenshi” she replied.
Rivera gave her a pathetic look for a while before sighing.
“Granted” she said and vanished with the water.
Lotus ran to her room and stood in front of the mirror.
She spread her palm and a violin appeared on it.
She played the tune and started singing loud.
She kept singing without stopping for five minutes and when she finally stopped, she screamed.
“I can finally do it!, I did it!, I did it whoa!!!!” She shouted happily, running out of the room.
She started running around the house and when she got to the back of it, she was surprised to see a pool.
When she took a walk round the house yesterday, she didn’t get here, maybe that’s why she didn’t see it .
“River?, Wow!”
She quickly transformed and jumped in, swimming happily while flaunting her tail.
