Lord Dom jotted up immediately and grabbed his long coat, reaching out for her gun before he stormed out.
“Aria!” he shouted at the top of his voice and ran out to see her holding a gun.
“Daddy, it’s a real gun,” she said, and he let out a sigh in relief.
“Why did you scream? Where did you get the gun?”
“Daddy, I came out to receive fresh air and felt it on the ground. I picked it up and shoot, I was startled to se it’s a real gun, it really freaked me out,”
“Why on earth are you outside?!” he yelled, and she flinched in fear.
“Daddy…” she cried.
“Aria, Aria, what happened?” Celia asked, running towards them.
“Daddy… you just got angry unknowingly,”
“Fvck shlt!” he grumbled, throwing his fists in the air.
“Aria, come here,” Celia said, and escorted Aria back in.
*
Celia prepared a mug of coffee and microwaved the fish paste before taking it to Aria who was already in company of her father.
“I got angry unknowingly… I’m sorry,” he muttered, wiping her tears.
“Daddy, I’m sorry I scared you,”
“No, you didn’t scare me. The gun did,” he said pinching her cheek and she smiled.
Celia stood afar looking at them in envy. Just like Aria, she was also deprived of a mothering affection and even though her father was present, his presence never made an impact in her life.
“Celia, are you ok?” Aria asked, and that was when she realized that she was in tears.
“I’m fine… something got my eyes,” she said, and broke down in tears.
Lord Dom collected the tray from her and lead her to sit on the couch till she stopped crying.
She sniffed in and wiped her tears before looking at Aria who was giving her a weird look.
“I’m sorry, I… it’s just the onions I guess,”
“Ok. But why are you on my Daddy’s coat?” she blurted, and Celia’s eyes widened.
Celia and Lord Dom gaze met and he instantly looked away like telling her to carry her own cross.
She cleared her throat and looked at Aria’s demanding face.
“What? Can’t you talk?” Aria snapped.
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about!” Celia blurted, and they both looked at her.
“What do you mean? You’re on my Daddy’s coat and you can’t explain it?!”
“This isn’t designed for just your Daddy, I also have it,”
“How can it be yours? The coat is obviously bigger,”
“I like bigger sizes!”
“That’s a lie! Start speaking now!”
“Fine. I’ll tell you the truth,” she said, and Lord Dom chuckled softly.
She shot him a glare and he rolled his eyes before looking away.
“It’s for my boyfriend!” she shouted, and they both looked at her.
“What boyfriend? My Daddy and I are the only one here,”
“My boyfriend before coming here. I took it from him!”
“I don’t believe you! That’s obviously my Daddy’s!”
“Aria, that can’t be mine,” Lord Dom interfered, and Celia scoffed —he obviously can’t beat his daughter.
“It is. Look at what I stitched on it,” she said, pointing at the stitch.
“What?” Celia gasped, looking at it.
“Why are you on my Daddy’s coat?! And Daddy… why are you also on a coat? You always wear your pajamas,”
“Actually, Aria. There must be a mixup here. The coat is mine, obviously. But this is for Celia’s. We both left it on the couch,”
“Why?”
“Because I expected Celia to take out the laundry. I must have grabbed hers while rushing out,”
“But it wasn’t on the couch when I came out,”
“Yes. It was in the laundry,”
“Why did you picked it from the laundry when you have other coat?”
“Aria, why am I the one answering all your questions? Why did you go out to receive fresh air at this time of the night?” he asked, hoping that change the topic.
She battled her lashes, and looked away, “I had a nightmare,”
“Why are you always having nightmares?”
“I don’t know. I’m not in control of that,”
“Do you want us to return home? Is it this place?”
“No! I’m just starting to enjoy the break! Thank you for the food Celia, I enjoyed the coffee. You should dispose this,” with that, she ran to her room.
Lord Dom exhaled heavily when she left and glared at Celia who reciprocated the energy.
“Did you just glare at me?!” he snapped.
“You did it first!” she lashed back.
“What? To begin with, why are you on my coat? You should’ve get dressed before rushing out,”
“I was as scared as you!”
“And what would you have done if we were in danger? Would you barging out help anyone?”
“I… I…”
“You weren’t thinking. Gosh,” he blurted, and turned to leave but later retreated, “You’re Aria’s nanny, you should take care of her. I’m sure something is bothering her, and she doesn’t tell me everything,” with that, he left.
“What could be bothering a little girl?” she thought, and let out a heavy sigh.

***IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF NEW YORK***

LORD DOM’s MANSION^^^
^
Jake was busy trying to review some documents when his phone beeped. Emma has been sending him multiple texts when she got the time, and has been disturbing him with calls that he was almost convinced that she was unemployed.
His phone rang again and he made a fist before picking it.
•
📲*What exactly is your problem?* he snapped.
📞*Why are yoy yelling at me? You told me to call if I sense anything suspicious. There is a man here winking at me. Gosh, a customer is coming. I’ll get back to you,* with that, the call ended and he dropped the phone already frustrated. That was the 10th call in about 30 minutes.
•
“There should be a way to close the case with this,” he grumbled, looking at the documents when his phone rang again, “For fvck sake!” he shouted, and picked the call without checking the caller.
•
📲*Forget it! Don’t ever call me again and you can uninstall that app as well!* he yelled
📞*Who’s stalking you?* he heard Lord Dom’s voice and he gasped before checking the caller again.
📲*Boss, I’m sorry,*
📞*I was thinking you’d be bored out of your mind, but I’m glad that I was wrong. Something has been keeping you busy,*
📲*I’m sorry, Boss. It’s nothing important,*
📞*Of course. It shouldn’t be as important as what I’m about ro discuss,*
📲*I’m all ears, Boss,*
📞*I was sent a threat. I found a gun on the island. Mr. Cason will prepare how I’ll send the gun over to check it out but I’m sure it’s an unregistered gun,*
📲*Boss, you should return to New York. What if you get attacked for real?*
📞*If it’s a gun, then it’s not from the East. The East can’t give their men guns to threaten their enemies. There is a mole in the vila, and I’ve another unknown enemy that is sending me this threats. Attacking Aria was just a threat, and leaving that gun behind was another. Additionally, I found hidden cctv cameras in the building as well. My new enemy is a mole under my roof,*
📲*Boss, you shouod return regardless. Your life is in danger,*
📞*That’s exactly what they want, but I won’t give them that satisfaction. I can take care of myself,*
📲*Of course you can! But how about the Little Lady? She’s thier target to get you!*
📞*You think I don’t know that? But I won’t give them that satisfaction because that’s what they want,*
📲*Boss, this is a dangerous game,*
📞*There is a mole in the villa. Mr. Cason doesn’t really know his way around the boys, you know them better,*
📲*I’m also on in Boss, but beyond all your safety is more important,*
📞*Just do as I say,* with that, tbe call ended
•
He let out a sigh when the call ended, and he saw the numerous messages that Emma sent.
Jake left his room and headed to Mr. Cason’s office, there he met him in company of someone but he ended thier conversation and dismissed his guest the moment he saw Jake.
“Are you the mole?” Jake blurted, and Mr. Cason scoffed.
“That’s so random,”
“The Boss was attacked where you sent him to! He was threatened again today! What are you after? Do you want the South?!” Jake lashed, and Mr. Casonchucked.
“Can you defend that statement?”
“Why? Isn’t this too obvious?”
“Then prove it, if you’re able to prove it then you win,”
“Are you admitting to it?”
“You’re a lawyer, so do it the legal way,”
“Don’t mess around, sir. I won’t let you go freely this time,”
“What’s your point?” he snapped, and grabbed Jake by the collar.
“No violence, let’s do it the legal way. You’ve a license yourself,” he said, and jabbed Mr. Cason’s hand off him.
He spun around to leave and was almost at the exit but Mr. Cason stopped him.
“I can be the Boss if I want to. It won’t take me anything to get rid of the Boss and get New York under my control but that’s not my style. If there is a mole, we should fish them out together and protect the Boss, our Boss,” he said, and Jake took the exit.
“Such an incentive fellow,” he scoffed, and returned to what he was doing.

***IN MALDIVES ***

LORD DOM’S ISLAND HOUSE^^^
^
Lord Dom left Celia and went out to look at the gun. He removed the bullets and looked around. He touched all the walls scanning the bricks until he saw the hidden camera. He returned inside to get a stud and removed all the cameras before exhaling heavily.
“Who could it be?” he thought.
He sent all the details to Mr. Cason who assured him of getting to the bottom but he wasn’t rest assured, so he called Jake.
After dropping the call with Jake, he went to his bar to drink thinking of whoever the spy could be but no one in particular came to his mind.
“Having another enemy in addition to the East is really overwhelming,” he grumbled, and emptied his glass of wine.
He wanted to fill another glass when someone hold his hand. He looked up to see Celia.
“You’re still up,” he said.
“I couldn’t sleep after putting Aria to sleep,”
“How is she? Did she tell you anything?”
“I don’t think you want to hear it,”
“I can handle anything… my only fear is being unable to protect my daughter as I promised,”
“Because you think you failed her mother?”
“What do you mean?”
“You aren’t the only one hurting, Aria is hurting too,”
“What do you mean? What did Aria tell you?”
*
*
FLASHBACK***
*
Celia exhaled heavily and went to Aria’s room to meet her still up in the dark.
“Why did you barged in?” Aria snapped and turned on the light.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you were asleep. I wanted to check on you,”
“Celia, do you’ve any pills you to take to sleep?”
“You mean insomnia drugs? Why do you need that?”
“I can’t sleep. I always wake up from my nightmare and stay ip all night because I couldn’t return to sleep,”
“What?”
“Good night, I want to sleep,”
“I know something that works better than the drugs,” Celia said.
“And what might that be?”
“Sharing. When I was young, I always had nightmare that makes me unable to sleep,” she said, and Aria looked at her.
“What do you always do? What works?”
“Sharing. I always share it with my cousin,”
“That’s a lie,”
“It works. Try me,”
“I doubt if it’s works,”
“Try me. We’re both alike, you know that,”
“I saw Daddy hurting himself, and… I always see it anytime I close my eyes. It’s so scary… he was burning himself with the steel… Daddy is so weak, but he tries to act brave. I wish I could protect my Daddy, I… I… I’m so scared,” she cried, and Celia embraced her I tears.
“That works. You’ll feel better now,” she assured, and Aria wrapped her hand around her.
*
*
FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Celia sniffed in after she concluded her story and Lord Dom made a fist unable to believe his ears.
“Aria saw me, Aria saw me hurting myself…” he shivered, and Celia held his shivering hands.
“Why… why’re you hurting yourself?”
“Because it’s all my fault. She dled because of me,” he muttered, and she embraced him.
“It’s ok to cry, I won’t see you,” she said, patting his back gently and he broke down in tears.
“It was all my fault. Anne dled because of me, and Aria is hurting because of me,” he muttered.
“It’s not your fault, nothing happened because of you,”
“What do you even know?!” he snapped, and pushed her away.
“Arggh…” she winched when she fell carelessly and twisted her ankle.
“Are you ok? Did I hurt you?” he asked worriedly, and she broke down in tears.
“I don’t know. What happened to your wife might not be your fault, but it is your fault that I fell. You pushed me when I was just trying to comfort you,” she cried, and he looked at her in shock.
“Yes, this is actually my fault,” he muttered staring at her already at loss.
