[# Chapter Three

Meira followed everyone into the capacious living room to witness the showdown between father and son. Theo began screaming at Ryat while he stood there, brows dipped, eyes cold. Not to mention he was inches taller than his own father, the man had to look up in his face when speaking to him. As she continued to watch and listen, her eyes were glued to her stepbrother. It was impossible to tell what was going through his mind when he was stoic-faced. He stood as still as a statue. What was he thinking?
“Ryat, you’re my son, by blood. We are family. My blood runs through your veins. I know I hadn’t been the best father, I could’ve done better. You’re right to be angry, and everything you said was true. I know, son, I understand you. I know you’re a man now, no longer the little boy I could b*lly to boost my ego, but from the bottom of my heart, Ryat, I want to say sorry,” he calmly said, heart tearing. A sly tear glided down his cheek. “I’m sorry for not being there for you, sorry for missing all of the most important parts of your life, sorry for not being a good father and role model. I know that nothing I say will ever fix what I’ve broke, but Ryat, I’m willing to start over.
“Ryat, my son, I am sorry for what I’ve done to you. For not believing you. For not listening. For just being a total *ssh*le. My son, my boy, all grown up now. I wish I could turn back the time and undo everything. I should’ve been a better father, and a husband to your mother. I may not have been there before, but I just want you to know that I’m here now. I’ll be prominent in your life from now on, it’s surely not too late to make amends. Ryat, let’s work things out,” Theodore’s heart raced as he waited for a reply. He stared into Ryat’s unblinking eyes desperately. That’s his son, from a quiet little boy to a handsome man.
Ryat just stared at him. No reaction. No tears. No nothing. Not even a blink he spared the man. Finally, he licked his lips in order to moisten them and leaned his head back a little, eyelids lowering. He thought for a while as he search Theo’s face, then, he heaved a sigh. Ryat intensely looked into Theo’s eyes, boring through his soul, then flatly stated:
“It’s too late to apologize.”
Then he walked out, a return not promised.

????????? ??????? – 8:35 ?.?.
Ryat peered into the sea of scintillating lights. He was perched on the roof of a black Range Rover, in his hand was a half empty bottle of Tequila. He scrolled mindlessly through the social media apps on his hand, his elbows propped up on his knees. The fact that the vehicle was parked next to a cliff didn’t in the slightest bother him. Not finding anything interesting on the phone he threw it inside the expensive car through the top opening and hopped down. His mind wandered back to what happened three hours prior to this moment, the memories replaying in his mind.
‘Sorry for not being a good father’, ‘I should’ve been a better father’, ‘Let’s work things out–’
Out of rage he threw the bottle over the cliff, his body heaved from the anger pumping through his veins. Ryat leaned against the side of the vehicle, eventually sliding down the side to sit on the asphalt. He was alone in an abandoned parking lot. Sometime passed, headlights shone on Ryat still rooted on the ground. The car weaved into the lot and parked under a tree. Four boys then alighted from the vehicle. Upon spotting Ryat on the floor they rushed over to crowd his space.
“I h@të him,” Ryat spoke bitterly. “After destroying my mental health, all he has to say is ‘I’m sorry let’s work things out’?” his voice cracked as he spoke, his eyes turned red, hot tears threatening to fall but he’d be damned if he let them. “Füçk it.”
“C’mere man, everything’s gonna be okay. You’re gonna be okay. Just know we’ll always be here for you. If nobody got you on this planet, just know that we do. I know how you feel, man. I understand you,” a male with dirty blonde hair and black roots held Ryat’s face before pulling him into a hug.
“Some nerve he has to even Füçking talk to you. I should’ve been there, he’d swallow every goddamn word. Sorry is the same as putting glue on a broken pipe, it won’t do Sh|t,” another male with impossibly bright emerald-green eyes brought out a blue bandana. “Here you go, man.”
“Carnage, just know if you need anything, even if any of us is sick, call. Make a phone call. We’ll come get you even if we gotta go through hell first, we understand your pain man, we’ve all been there,” a third male with slit brows offered him some water. “It’s good you called, because if you didn’t I just know you’d shoot someone d**d.”
The fourth male with honey brown eyes and a silver lip ring didn’t say anything, he just comforted his friend as best he could. After all, if he were in this situation Ryat wouldn’t hesitate to comfort him. For hours the group sat around their friend, playing depressing music and reveling in each other’s company.
“You okay man?” the third male asked, the look in his eyes tender. “Tell me if you need anything.”
“Got any cigarettes?” he looked over at him.
“Of course the Almighty Carnage would ask for something that ruins kidneys,” the third male snorted, prompting Ryat to elbow him. “What the Füçk man, you know I ain’t lying’.”
“Shut up, Korpse.”
“Alright, now that Carnage is okay-ish, let’s get to why we’re here. Bro, we found her,” the first male’s lips curled into a wicked grin. “She’s in Santa Cruz, California living with her fiancée.”
“Bridgette’s in Cali?” the last male finally said something. The once compassionate look in his eyes morphed into an evil flame. “Wow, ain’t God good.”
“He’s d@mn good,” Carnage pushed himself off the ground and whipped out a cigar from the box Korpse gave him. He turned the lighter on, the orange flames illuminating his face and revealing the stoney expression he wore. He lit the cigarette and took one long draw, his friends came one by one to stand by his side. “So that’s where she’s been all this time, huh? I lost five years because of her b*llSh|t, it’s payback time.”
“Well, you know what they say boys,” the first male also lit a cigar and chuckled darkly.
“??????? ?? ???? ?????? ????.”
They laughed, but it wasn’t one of joy.
“Call Neptune and tell him to bring her and her fiancé to me alive. Venom, I want you to buy five feeder pigs for me and keep them on your sister’s farm, don’t feed them for a week. Bîtch really thought she’d send me to prison and run off into the sunset with her Prince Charming? God have mercy on her soul, because I won’t,” Ryat dropped the burnt out cigar and stomped on it.
“I never liked that h**, she looked sneaky. This, however, is un-Füçking-forgivable,” the last male spat in a patch of dry grass off to the side of the lot. “My stomach churns just thinking’ about her cunning @.”
“Füçk that h** man. Let’s get outta here and go do something fun. Remember that Füçker who raised his voice at my cousin? Squid has him and his Bîtch chained in his basement. He says we should come do our thing tonight,” the first male lifted his shirt to reveal an M-16. “But first, let’s sound the alarm.”
“The Bloodlust Bastards are back in town,” Korpse also took out a g*n, and so did the others.
Together the group of five walked to the end of the cliff that had no guard rails and fired countless rounds of bullets into the night sky, while doing so they laughed maniacally. Whoever did them dirty better pray to wh@tëver higher being existed, because nobody crossed the Heartless Boys of Arkville and went scott-free.
Karma’s coming and it had their name on it.

??????.
Meira shivered uncomfortably at the thought of meeting her ex-boyfriend. She was still crying over their tragic breakup. However, school is more important than some imbecile who can’t keep their d_1ck in their pants. Speaking of which, she hadn’t seen or heard from Ryat since he left.
He was seen on security cameras leaving in a Range Rover, but he wasn’t seen returning. The family members left last night, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton are on bad terms because Syahla can’t believe she married a man who treated his son so badly. Meira wasn’t too concerned, nor was Syahla, but they were both shocked about. Her mother had only married the man for his money, but what he did is still…disturbing. On so many levels. Hopefully he won’t try that with them.
No wonder why Ryat loathes him.
The young woman yawned as she climbed out of the black Rolls-Royce phantom limousine she traveled to school in every morning. From the parking lot she looked at the giant school building and rolled her eyes. She’d once again have to tolerate annoying humans. Meira just hoped graduation day would come sooner, though it was near. She walked through the lot, passed through the towering gates and walked into the building. She didn’t have any friends, which she preferred.
Humans were annoying anyway.
The time passed in a breeze and now she was seen seamlessly cutting through the crowd on her way to the library to study. Throughout the day she tried to focus on her schoolwork, but she was too distracted to properly get her notes done. Ryat occupied her thoughts, and he still did. On her way there she thought of buying him a cake on her way home. Her new ‘brother’ was a puzzling character, but she understood him–or maybe she didn’t. All of a sudden something crashed into her and all her books fell to the floor, her glasses also slid off her nose.
‘d@mn it, why now of all times? Give me a break already,’ Meira bent to pick up her books but someone kicked her hand away. ‘Ouch! What the heck!?’
“Hey guys, look who decided to show her ugly face in Arkville high again,” the captain of the cheerleading team, Roxanne Gardner, blew a pink bubble with the gum she chewed. “Aren’t you ashamed to show your face here? You’re so ugly it physically hurts to look at you, gosh my eyes feel like they’re bleeding.”
The crowd that gathered giggled at the unfunny joke.
“I’m really not in the mood for this, Roxanne,” Meira scoured the floor for her silver-rimmed glasses, she luckily found them before Candy did and slid them on. “I have a lot of homework to do this evening. Leave me alone.”
Roxanne laughed. “Miss Piggy has homework to do, wow,” she then kicked away the books. She and her friends proceeded to pick them up and rip them apart before her victim’s eyes.
“No! No stop doing that! That’s my homework and it’s due today!” Meira cried and tried grabbing her things but she stood no chance against the group of seven. “Roxanne, I’m not laughing give those back to me!”
“And if I don’t?” she tore the book in two and tossed it to the crowd who cheered as they finished ripping it to shreds. “The Füçk are you gonna do about it Bîtch? Go s**k Pastor Connor’s ÇOçk and tell him the Principal’s daughter messed with your Sh|t? Go do it then, sweetie.”
Meira shed tears seeing her books trashed on the ground, her bag had been taken off her and emptied. Everything was ruined and strewn across the floor. She’s so sick and tired of being b*lli*d everyday by Roxanne and her mongrels.
“Hold her down guys,” Roxanne removed her chewed up bubble gum up and smiled evilly.
Meira tried making a run for it but the crowd caught her and pushed her to the floor. She struggled to get up but Roxanne’s cheerleader friends pinned her to the ground. Meira could’ve sworn her life flashed before her eyes. Her heart pounded so hard it almost burst from her chest. No one helped her. Everyone helped to b*lly her. She was helpless and prayed to God a miracle would happen.
Roxanne stood over Meira, she could see her pink underwear from where she lay. Then, Roxanne stooped down, Meira’s looked up between her thighs. She watched in complete horror as the girl put gum in her hair, and so did all her friends. She tried to wriggle out of their grasps but she was outnumbered and overpowered.
Meira loved her hair more than anything else in the world. This was heart-shattering.
After the act had been committed, Meira managed to slip out of the crowd, but not before getting her clothes ripped, exposing her black and red polka dot bra. Humiliated and ashamed she ran out of the school with everyone laughing at her.
Tears blurred her vision, her body trembled, her heart pounded erratically. On her way out she blindly slammed into something firm. A delicious smell clouded her nostrils seconds later; it smelled like a Pinewood forest sprinkled with Vanilla. Meira took her glasses off to wipe tears from her eyes then put them on again to see what she had ran into.
Standing there, looking at her questioningly, was Ryat. The two were shocked to see each other.
His neatly lined dak brows were knitted together tightly, eyes running up and down her messy look.
“What happened to you?”
Without thinking much, between sobs she barely managed to narrate what happened, in the end running off. She felt disgraced to be seen like that. Roxanne had always been a pain in the neck, and this was not the worst of what she’d done. Meira had always tolerated her, but how dare she ruin her beautiful hair?
“Mom…” Meira cried over the phone. “???, ?????? ???? ??? ??????, ???…”
