●Noah apartment●

The clock struck two. Irene stepped out of the bedroom, now dressed in a sleek navy-blue pantsuit with gold earrings that shimmered under the light. Her hair was pulled into a clean, elegant bun. She adjusted the strap of her structured handbag as she turned to Noah.

“You ready?” she asked, slipping her phone into her purse.

Noah, now in a fitted grey suit and black tie, grabbed his tablet and car keys. He gave her a slow once-over and smiled.
“Always, especially when you look like that.”

She rolled her eyes, blushing faintly. “Let’s go, Mr. CEO.”

They exited the apartment, walking in sync down the hallway like the power couple they were.

Conference Room – 3:10 PM

The meeting room was pristine, modern, and filled with a few department heads seated around the oval glass table. The city skyline served as a backdrop through the wide floor-to-ceiling windows. Irene placed a folder down before each executive, while Noah took the head seat, his demeanor shifting to business-mode.

“Alright, let’s begin,” Noah said calmly, his fingers laced together. “Irene, please walk us through the new strategy proposal.”

With a confident nod, she stood, clicking the remote to bring up her slides on the large screen.

“Our Q4 strategy focuses on three major pivots: market personalization, client retention through loyalty programs, and an internal restructure of the creative team for more agility.”

Heads turned. Eyes followed her movements as she spoke, her voice measured, clear, and authoritative.

Noah watched her proudly as a boss and as her fiance

As the presentation wrapped, one of the executives asked, “How soon can this be implemented?”

Irene replied smoothly, “Phase one begins Monday. I’ve already drafted the timeline and delegated roles. I’ll coordinate directly with the department leads to ensure a smooth rollout.”

There was a brief silence, then Noah spoke, his voice firm but warm.
“This is what excellence looks like. Irene, great work.”

She smiled, meeting his gaze just long enough to feel the electricity between them before shifting back to her seat with professional poise.

The meeting continued, but their glances didn’t stop—discreet, loaded with meaning.

Library

The library is quiet, sun filtering through tall windows, painting warm stripes across the wooden tables and rows of books. It’s almost empty—except for the hum of a fan and a student or two in distant corners.

At the far side of the room, a large table is scattered with lab notes, diagrams, and a half-open laptop. Sylvia sits alone, typing silently, eyes focused.

She checks the time: 11:07 AM.

A sigh.

She turns a page in her manual, muttering,he is late..

Then a voice came from her back
You’re seven minutes early in my world.

She turns and saw Kingsley standing there in a plain hoodie and jeans, a bit more casual than usual, a coffee in one hand, a file in the other.

You brought notes?,she asked surprisingly

I’m not completely useless. I even highlighted things or maybe you don’t know my rank in school,he answered

He then slides into the seat across from her, placing a drink beside her hand.

I didn’t know what you liked. So I guessed.,he added

If it’s bitter, we’ll have issues, she replied while eyeing the drink

Then they get to work. For the first thirty minutes, it’s focused—mostly. Exchanging notes, typing out sections, cross-checking results.

But as the silence grows more comfortable, the dynamic starts to shift.

You always write like you’re trying to impress someone,he muttered

Maybe I am,she replied

Who?,be asked

She hesitates, then shrugs and replied,
Myself or let’s just say someone special

Kingsley watches her a moment.

That’s good of you then,he muttered

Sylvia looks up, surprised by the softness in his voice. Their eyes meet—longer than before.

Then she glances down at the paper again.

Why do you act differently at people except from your friends, she asked

Maybe I’m just felt like and you are also different from what people imagine, you seems cool, he replied

Bit by bit something shifts in the air. It’s no longer just about lab work.

You ever let anyone really see the real you apart from your friends

Only once and I don’t even know the person

Sylvia tilts her head slightly, intrigued nad muttered, its Sounds mysterious.

Or tragic, depending on the ending,he adeed

Before she can answer, a loud shush from the librarian interrupts them. They both stifle a laugh.

Then he asked,You wanna… take a break?

Sylvia blinks and muttered, a break

There’s a café next block. You can judge my taste in bitter coffee again,he muttered

She considers it then closes her notebook and muttered, you paying since you brought the idea

Deal,he replied and they both stand and left for the cafe

For a moment, as they walk side by side toward the library doors, they look like two people who were never supposed to connect—yet somehow did.

Jeremy Apartment

The soft hum of the fan filled the room, blending with the quiet tapping of keys.

Jeremy at his desk, shoulders slightly hunched, the glow of his laptop screen casting shadows across his sharp features. His room was neat, almost too neat not a single paper out of place, the bed untouched since morning.

He paused, adjusting the brightness on the screen. It wasn’t schoolwork. Whatever he was working on didn’t look like a typical assignment just a dark interface, a blank screen waiting for a command, and lines of text written in a format most students wouldn’t understand.

His eyes scanned something intently, lips pressed into a thin line. Then, almost out of nowhere, he leaned back and closed the screen slowly, as though deciding something.

He glanced toward the window — the curtains swayed slightly from the night breeze, but he didn’t move.

Instead, he picked up a small notebook from the drawer. Its black cover was worn at the edges, pages marked with small symbols and quick notes in faint ink. He flipped to a page, read it for a long second, then tore it out and burned it in the small ceramic dish beside his desk.

No hesitation.

Once it was ash, he pushed back his chair and finally stretched, rolling his shoulders as if nothing had happened.

Then he picked up his phone, typed out a short message “Done already and I already hacked their cctv footage”and hit delete a second after sending it.

Then he went out of his Apartment and entered one of his cars and drove off to meet someone.

The café is quaint, with potted plants at the entrance and warm light glowing from the windows. A chalkboard sign reads “Weekend Brew – Caramel Mocha & Trouble” in loopy handwriting.

Kingsley and Sylvia sit at a corner table by the window. Two steaming cups rest between them. A small notebook lies open with the last lines of their practical report.

The mood is relaxed, oddly light.

Okay… not bitter. I’m impressed,Sylvia muttered.

Told you I could guess right,he replied

Don’t get cocky and that was luck, she muttered

Then maybe we should test my luck again sometime,he replied

She glances at him sharply, but his expression is unreadable. Her lips part slightly, unsure whether to take it as flirting or sarcasm. She goes for safe.

I’ll bring a quiz next time,she muttered

Looking forward to failing it in style,he replied

They both chuckle. For a moment, the world feels simple.

Then Kingsley’s hand accidentally brushes against hers as they both reach for the notebook. She freezes. He does too.

She doesn’t move her hand.

You always do that,she muttered

What?he asked

But before she can respond, her phone vibrates. A message. She glances down, then exhales and stands.

We should wrap it up. We’re done anyway, she muttered

Yeah. We are,he muttered

They walk out side by side. Not touching. Not speaking.

Science lab

The afternoon sun streamed through the science lab’s windows, making the polished tabletops gleam. Most of the school was quiet, the echo of distant footsteps the only sound outside.

Lily stepped into the lab, heart fluttering more than she wanted to admit. Her fingers gripped her notebook a little too tightly.

Jeremy was already there, seated at their shared lab bench. His sleeves were rolled to his elbows, head tilted as he adjusted the components of their circuit model with careful precision. His calm focus only made him more distracting.

He looked up when she entered, and for a second — just a second — their eyes met.

“Hey,” he said, voice low and even.

Lily smiled quickly. “Hey. Sorry I’m late. Got stopped by Ms. Granger.”

“No worries,” he said, returning to the setup. “I just started.”

Lily sat beside him, trying not to seem too eager, too awkward, too obvious. She pulled her textbook open, but barely read a word. She could feel the heat rise in her cheeks every time jeremy leaned in to adjust a wire or test a switch.

“You okay?” he asked after a moment, glancing at her sideways.

She jolted a little. “Huh? Oh — yeah. Just… long week.”

He nodded. “Same.”

They continued working in a gentle rhythm. Jeremy handled the more technical bits with quiet confidence, while Lily kept track of the data. They didn’t talk much — but the silence wasn’t uncomfortable. Just… careful.

At one point, their hands brushed when reaching for the same wire.

Lily pulled back quickly, biting her lip. “Sorry.”

Jeremy only gave a slight shrug. “No big deal.”

But her heart was hammering in her chest.

As they wrapped up, Lily hesitated. She wanted to say something more — something personal — but the words tangled in her throat. Instead, she just started packing her notes.

“Thanks for… helping today,” she said, barely meeting his eyes.

Jeremy nodded, slinging his backpack over one shoulder. “See you Monday.”

And just like that, he was gone.

Lily watched the door close behind him, hugging her notebook to her chest.

She didn’t know if he’d ever see her the way she saw him.

But for now… this was enough.

And Jeremy who forgot something in the lab was rushing back and from her afar he noticed Lily was going to slipped

So he called out her name but she didn’t hear so he started running towards her

Lily who was lost in thought slipped and she close her eyes as she slipped.

But an arm caught her mid way………
