After he shouted Sylvia name he run to meet her and they both went to the staffroom.
As they left the cafeteria became silent and Khloe left the school furiously.
What the füç? just happened, Davis muttered and then he left.
Gosh Kingsley is becoming more cold to girls except Sylvia, Kenzie whispered.
She got what she deserve, she knows Kingsley doesn’t really give a füç? about her and she still act like he give a füç? about her, Jeremy muttered and left the cafeteria.
Everyday is full of drama can’t wait for us to finish exam,Damien muttered
Many students kept discussing about what just happen while some were busying eating.
★ Staffroom ★
On getting to the staffrom they went to meet Mr grant and he told them to sit down.
I sent for both of you because your chemistry practical pairing assignment was the best so far and I’m glad to inform you made me proud,Mr grant muttered
Thank you sir,they both chorused.
And before I forget you both will be incharge of the class activities as from next week since it’s free lecture week,Mrs grant muttered.
Okay sir but you have to announce it to the class also,Sylvia spoke.
I will make sure to do that’s and Kingsley here will inform you about how you both will do the class activities,Mr grant replied.
Okay sir,she muttered and they both took their leave.
Outside the staffroom Kingsley and Sylvia were seen walking beside each other.
So what’s your plan for the next week activities, Sylvia asked.
Nothing much but will just have to create time to talk about the activities we are going to do ,he answered.
This week is going be hectic how about we meet during weekend for the planning, Sylvia muttered.
Any day is fine by me and I will text you the location to meet me, Kingsley responded and left.
I wasn’t even done talking to him and he left or can’t he stand my sight except if we have to work together, Sylvia thought.
Then she started walking towards class.
★Cheerleader room★
Inside the cheerleader room Samara and friends were seen talking and Samara was pacing up and down.
You didn’t tell me Khloe was coming back today, Samara muttered facing Lisa.
She didn’t even tell me at all she was coming, Lisa replied.
Don’t tell me you are feeling insecure, Tiffany asked.
Of course not why will I be insecure,Samara answered and scoffed.
I think it’s high time I say my mind,Lisa muttered.
What is it, Tiffany asked.
Samara did he broke up with you or are hiding something from us,Lisa asked.
We didn’t broke up and I’m not hiding anything,Samara muttered with total seriousness.
Okay but if I found out you are hiding something you won’t find me funny anymore,Lisa muttered and left the cheerleader room.
Why did you not tell her the truth, Tiffany asked.
Cuz I’m going to get Kingsley back and I don’t really like Lisa and she is dumb not to know I’m clearly using her, Samara answered and Tiffany laughed.
Girl you are so bad and that’s why will go along well, Tiffany muttered and they continue to mock Lisa.
Unknown to them someone was eavesdropping and recording everything they were both saying.
Music room
Davis was busying playing the piano that’s he got so lost in his thoughts and the tune coming out of the piano was very melodious.
Lisa who was walking pass the hallway heard the tune so she traced where the tune was coming from and ended up in front of the music room
She entered the room and for the first time she was taken aback by the sight of who was playing.
She kept on staring until the tune stopped.
Are you done staring,Davis asked without looking up.
No I wasn’t staring, she replied and quickly composed herself.
Why are you hear in the first place,he asked coldly
I was captivated by the tune in the hallway so I decided to check who was playing the piano like a pro, she answered.
Never thought you could know anything apart from bullying,he muttered.
I don’t care about what you think of me but I must say you are good with the piano and can u teach me how to play, she asked.
I don’t teach fools cuz you are big fool not too notice you are being used and when you turn to someone better maybe i can reconsider teaching you, Davis answered and left leaving Lisa speechless.
Lisa walked towards a seat in the music rooma and started pondering over Davis started.
“I don’t teach fools cuz you are a big fool not too notice you are being used”
She kept on thinking about it till a bell rang and she left for class.
♠Science class♠
The air in the classroom was thick with afternoon laziness. With exams just two weeks away, most students were either panicking in silence or pretending not to care at all.
Mr. Grant stood in front of the whiteboard, arms crossed, as he made the announcement that flipped the mood like a switch.
“For this final stretch,” he began, “we’ll be doing peer-led review sessions. Two people will organize the daily activities—games, drills, question banks, even mock tests as from next week”
He scanned the room.
“Kingsley Brocks.”
Heads turned.
“And Sylvia Kelly.”
A pause.
Then a few muffled laughs.
Sylvia blinked and lily smiled at her
Mr. Grant smirked slightly, as if fully aware of what he’d done. “Both of you are sharp. Let’s see if you can sharpen others without drawing blood.”
Sylvia bit her tongue.
Kingsley just leaned back in his seat, unbothered as always.
After a while Mr grant left the class and everywhere became noisy.
Dude you got picked again,Davis muttered.
It’s gonna be a long week though, Kingsley replied and Jeremy joined them.
Guys how about we go for our fun trip this weekend, Jeremy asked.
I have plans on weekends, Kingsley replied.
Can’t you shift your plans from weekend guy it’s our fun trip we are talking about,Davis muttered.
Okay fine I will create time by weekend, Kingsley replied.
Finally I can spend two days away from stress, Jeremy muttered.
Then Kenzie and Damien entered their class and joined them.
What are you guys planning about, Kenzie asked.
Our fun trip this weekend, Davis answered.
Oh that’s true but guys I have to miss the trip,I’m traveling to Italy for my granny birthday,Damien muttered.
How about we do our fun trip in Italy them,Kenzie suggested.
Then they all agreed and choose Italy for their fun trip.
At another corner, Lily leaned closer to Sylvia, lowering her voice over the classroom noise.
“So,” Lily began, a grin forming on her lips, “how do you feel about being paired with the Kingsley again
Sylvia rolled her eyes. “Like being handed a shovel and told to dig through concrete.”
Lily laughed. “It could be worse. At least he’s not dumb.”
“True. Just dangerously uninterested,” Sylvia muttered, tapping her pen against her notebook.
They both giggled, heads almost touching as they huddled over Sylvia’s scribbled notes.
Then the classroom door creaked louder than usual.
Samara Monroe walked in like thunder in heels—swaggering, jangling, radiating chaos. You felt her before you saw her. The kind of girl who made noise just by existing.
She strolled into the classroom like it was a runway, gum snapping, smirk blazing, and trouble already brewing in her eyes.
Then she saw her.
Her gaze locked on Sylvia like a target.
“Well, well,” Samara purred, swaying toward them. “If it isn’t Princess Perfect and her shadow.”
Lily stiffened beside Sylvia, but Sylvia didn’t even lift her eyes from her notes.
Samara’s voice cut sharper. “Word is, you’re running the review next week. What happened—teacher finally gave the nerds a mic?”
Sylvia calmly raised her gaze. Her expression was unreadable. Still.
“He chose people who could teach,” she replied smoothly. “Not ones who need saving.”
A few students near the back snorted. One even muttered, “Ouch.”
Samara’s smile faltered, just briefly, before flaring again like a challenge.
“Careful,” she warned. “Being smart doesn’t make you untouchable.”
Sylvia stood, her movements slow and precise. She tucked her pen behind her ear.
“I’m not trying to be untouchable,” she said softly. “I’m just not easy to knock down.”
Gasps trickled around them like falling pins.
Samara stepped closer. “You’ve got a big mouth.”
Sylvia leaned in, her voice low and icy.
“And you’ve got two choices. Walk away… or stay and learn something for once.”
A thick silence stretched. Samara’s eyes blazed, but her feet didn’t move.
Then—
BRRRING!
The bell rang.
She scoffed and turned, stalking off, bracelets jingling like a warning—like chains slipping loose.
Sylvia sat down again, flipped a page like nothing happened.
Lily blinked at her. “Okay… remind me never to get on your bad side.”
Sylvia smiled faintly, not looking up.
“Oh, Lily,” she said quietly, “my bad side doesn’t show up in daylight.”
Just then, something slid across the table.
A folded note.
Unmarked.
Unclaimed.
Sylvia paused… then opened it.
Inside, one line—scrawled in red ink:
“Be careful Samara is not an easy person ”
Her eyes narrowed.
But her smile?
It grew.
