The man crouched down and checked Avery’s pulse.

“She’s dead.”

<THE WHITE HOUSE>

Lucia ran inside the the white house, wearing a hoodie on top of the gown she had on with a nose mask on.

Earlier, she was waiting for Kingsley to pick her up for the date they planned when he called to inform her he couldn’t make it because his father fainted. She immediately came all the way here.

Thankfully, the guards let her in and a maid led her to where Kingsley and the others were.

“King!” She exclaimed when she saw Kingsley coming out of a room while talking to the family’s doctor.

“Heart.” Kingsley called and smiled out faintly, though she could see through his smile that something was wrong.

“What is wrong?” Lucia asked and Kingsley sighed.

“The doctor said that my father has a weak heart.” Kingsley said and Lucia gasped.

“What?”

“The President used to go for his monthly checkup due his weak heart but I don’t know, it looked like something he took weakened it even more.” The doctor explained, looking confused and worried.

“What could that be?”

“I don’t really know.” The doctor shook his head.

Lucia sighed and looked at Kingsley. Even though him and his father doesn’t seem to be in good terms, she knows that deep down he still care for him

She held Kingsley’s hand who looked at her. “He’ll be fine.” She murmured and he nodded.

Kingsley excused himself to escort the doctor to the exit. Lucia sighed again, why is it that everyone she associates herself with bad luck always follows the person?

“Maybe I’m bad luck.” She thought and sighed.

Lucia heard some voices coming from a distance through the corridor. Curious, she followed the voices that led her to a door

“I thought you said, it’ll take time before it takes effect?” A male voice spoke.

“How do you expect me to know he has a weak heart!” A female voice retorted.

Lucia furrowed her brows. Could they be talking about the President?

“We haven’t yet gotten our hand on his will!”

“I know and-”

The two pairs stopped talking when Lucia’s phone suddenly chirmed.

“Who’s there?” The female voice spoke and she could hear shoe steps advancing to where she was.

Lucia quickly hid herself behind a pillar. The door opened and Daphne walked out with Ralph. Lucia’s gaze furrowed even more, wasn’t this the First Lady with Kingsley’s cousin?

“What is wrong?” Ralph asked.

“I thought I heard someone.” She said before they walked back in

Lucia sighed out. She quickly rushed back to where Kingsley left her. Just at that moment, Kingsley was coming back

“Do you wanna see my father?” Kingsley asked and Lucia hesitated. She wasn’t oblivious of the fact that the President wasn’t really fond of her.

“Umm I don’t know.”

“Don’t worry.” Kingsley took her hand and opened the door.

They walked in and she met the President laying on his bed with his eyes closed as a monitor beeped at intervals. He opened his eyes and looked their way.

“Dad…” Kingsley called, walking closer with Lucia beside him

“Meet Luciana Park, my girlfriend.” Kingsley said.

Thomas looked at Lucia with a blank expression before looking at Kingsley.

“You’re too stubborn.” He muttered.

“I took it from you.” Kingsley replied with the same blank expression on Thomas’ face and Thomas smiled defeatedly before his gaze went to Lucia who flinched when he looked at her.

“She’s not that bad, looks pretty and cute.” Thomas said.

“Thanks, Mr. President.”

“I don’t have a choice, don’t want my son to keep being mad at me when I die-”

“Don’t say that, no one is dying.” Kingsley cut him off with a serious expression.

Thomas smiled. “I’m sorry, for what I did to you. Love can be blind and stupid, but I want to know this.. I really loved your mother..”

“… But when I saw Daphne and the way she had eyes for you. It reminded me of your mom and I and I missed those moments, I wanted those moments back so I..I felt-”

“Jealous?” Kingsley said and Thomas nodded with a grim smile on his face.

“Embarrassing right?” He muttered.

“I’ve forgotten about it. Besides if it never happened I wouldn’t have met Lucia.” Kingsley said and kissed Lucia’s hand.

“Take care of my son.” Thomas said and Lucia nodded with a smile on her lips

The three pairs talked some more before the door opened and Ralph walked in with Daphne. He looked quite surprised to see Lucia there.

Daphne looked at Lucia then at her hands intertwined with.

“This must be his girlfriend. Way below of me.” She thought and plastered a smile on her lips as she walked closer.

Lucia couldn’t help but noticed the hickey on her neck. She furrowed her brows, looking at Ralph then at Daphne. One thing was certain, something suspicious is going on in this family.

“I didn’t know you were bringing your girlfriend over.” Daphne spoke. Kingsley just kept quiet, he didn’t want to ruin the peaceful atmosphere by replying her.

Daphne faced Lucia and smiled. “I’m Daphne, nice to meet you.” She said and pulled Lucia in for a hug.

“I can see Kingsley’s taste in women has fallen too low.” She whispered in Lucia’s ear and Lucia frowned.

“Well not lower than your shame. By the way, the hickey Ralph gave you is obvious.” Lucia whispered back and Daphne’s eyes widened

She quickly broke the up to cover the hickey with her hair before glaring at Lucia who just smirked and looked away.

<MORNING, PINKY PIXIES DORM>

“I’m so tired.” Eva groaned as she walked out inside the dining room to see Becky dressing the table whole Scarlett was bringing in breakfast

Thankfully, it was a weekend.

“Tired? But you just woke up.. Or were you busy thinking about Jayden you couldn’t sleep.” Becky smirked and Eva rolled her eyes, already regretting why she told them about her encounter with Jayden.

She took a seat and immediately took a huge bite from the toasted bread on her plate.

“Lucia didn’t even come home. She must be enjoying Kingsley.” Scarlett smirked.

“Stop thinking dirty.” Becky flicked her forehead before taking a seat next to her.

They ate while discussing and Becky took some few bite from the bread before sipping her tea. She immediately stood up.

“I need to go now. Bye!” She said.

“Wait, where are you-” Before Eva could finish speaking, Becky already left.

Becky climbed up her brand new motorcycle which she purchased with her first salary before driving off.

She drove to the secret house where her and Kyle use to visit. Becky climbed down her motorcycle and pulled off her helmet. She stared at the house as she heaved in a deep breath

“You can do it Becky. You’ve been through a lot, confessing your feelings to a guy can’t be any scarier.” She said to herself.

“Confessing to a guy?”

Becky jolted and immediately turned back. She almost fainted but relieved washed through her when she saw it was Mason and not Kyle.

“It’s just you.”

“Don’t tell me you came here to confess to Kyle. Are you seriously in love with that jerk?” Mason grabbed her arm.

Becky frowned and yanked his hand of, “And what is wrong with that?”

“That guy is two-faced. He betrayed me!” Mason said and Becky furrowed his brows.

“What are you talking?”

Mason smirked. “He hasn’t told you? I thought he loved you.” He said and Becky frowned even morry, what is he talking about?

“Kyle was never meant to be in ECSTASY, I was.” Mason said and Becky’s eyes widened.

“What?”

“ECSTASY was formed based on a survival show. It has always been my dream to be an idol and being a trainee under the company I was allowed to participate in the survival show and it has been great for me. I was amongst the finalist but unfortunately I fell very ill. Despite Kyle’s persuasion to dissuade me, I was still obstinate to participate at the finale when I realized Kyle tricked me. He went ahead and did the finale in my place. When the judges found out what happened, they still choose him over me. That two-faced brother of mine stole my dream!” Mason said and Becky could still feel the anger laced in his voice.

Becky was shocked. She never imagined something like this could happen. Kyle really did this to his brother?

“There, look at who you fell in love with.. Tsk!” Mason hissed as he looked behind Becky. He got into his car and drove off immediately

Becky turned to see Kyle standing by the door. He was staring at her same way, she looked at him. Silence issued between them.

“Did… Did you really do it?” Becky asked, hoping he’ll deny it but was disappointed when he nodded, confirming what Mason said.

He could see disappointment in her eyes. Without another word, Becky mounted back her bike and drove off

Kyle looked down.

<HOSPITAL>

Eloise (Avery’s mother) ran into the hospital with tears in her. The news of the incident was airing every where on the news.

She ran into the indicated ward but some policemen stopped her.

“Miss, you can’t go in. The body is currently being prepared for autopsy” The police said.

“Body! What the fk are you saying, my daughter isn’t déad!! Get the fk out of my way!!” Eloise pushed them aside and before they could stop them, she ran into the ward.

Her body froze on the spot at the sight she beheld. Her only daughter, laying on the stretcher, her body looked pale, almost blueish in color, void of life.

“No!!!” Eloise let out an agonizing cry and made to rush to Avery’s body but the doctors stopped her

“Ma’am you can’t go any further.”

“Avery!!! No!!!” Eloise screamed out as her heart bled in pain.

She needed no fortune teller to know who did this. Was this the price to pay for all her bad deeds?

“I’m sorry… It’s all my fault.” Eloise knees weakened as she went down, sitting on the ground as she wept uncontrollably.

<AIRPORT>

A plane just landed few minutes ago and the stairs were rolled down. A pair of long smoothless leg stepped on the stairs, slowly descending the stairs

Her short hair waved slightly as she walked. Clad in a black gown with white heels that matched the jacket hanging round her shoulder, she looked really irresistible despite her age.

“Madam Vivian, your mansion has been arranged. Here’s the car that will drive you there.” Her personal assistant informed.

The woman referred to as Vivian pulled off her shades and looked front.

“Get ready Jade, your worse nightmare has arrived” She said inwardly as anger mixed with pain flashed through her eyes.
