Ella refused to say anything to the prosecutors until her lawyer arrived.
“You can’t suddenly arrest my client based on a criminal confession,” her attorney said.
“There is evidence to support it. This is a video of her carrying the victim to the car in company of the criminal you mentioned. How do you explain that Miss Blake?”
“Maxwell and Violet didn’t have a good relationship like other beloved. They fought on regular bases because Violet suspects that he’d husband was cheating but she loves him very much and pretended to be fine in public,” Ella said, sniffing in.
“So, you’re trying to tell me that this was assault,” the prosecutor said, doubting her claims.
“Yes. Maxwell hit the vase on her head. I was there to prepare his birthday party together as we always do, and Violet appeared, accusing him of cheating and others. Maxwell didn’t want to publicize the incidence so Maxwell plead with me, together we carried her away,”
“To a hospital?”
“I don’t know. I helped Maxwell, and he dropped me off on the way when Mr. Josh joined us along the way,”
“Your best friend was assaulted, and on the way to the hospital you left her with her abusive husband?”
“That wasn’t the first, and… Mr. Josh was there. He was her right hand man, and my life doesn’t revolve around her,” Ella said.
“I believe my client already answered cooperate with that question,” the lawyer said.
“So, how will you exchange the messages?” the prosecutor said, showing her the messages, “Will you deny this as well?”
“I’m obvious to that. After Mr. Josh told me that Violet was doing fine, I left town for a while. You can confirm my alibi that day if you doubt,”
“May I ask your reason for leaving?” the prosecutor asked.
“I met with a college friend. Go confirm it if you doubt,”
“But you can still send messages wherever you are “
“I lost my phone. I issued it missing. I don’t even know how I lost it. I lost my phone and didn’t reach out to anybody. I changed my phone and changed my number right after. I don’t understand that message. That could be Maxwell plan to frame me and drag me along sign him. He probably saw all these coming,”
“This is proof that my client issued her phone missing back then,” her lawyer said.
“So, why would he want to frame you?” the prosecutor asked.
“Because he asked me out even before Violet passed swag but I regretted him. I don’t know if he has other reasons but that was the only ruckus between us and we settle it even before Violet passed away,”
“But rumors have it that you two are currently together,” the prosecutor said.
“I believe my client already cooperates enough. You should present evidence to support your claims. You can reach back to us id you have more evidence. That should be all,” her lawyer said.
“So, you also don’t know this place?” the prosecutor asked, showing her the picture of the warehouse.
“Prosecutor! We will take our leave now. If you have no more evidence, I believe my client already cooperated enough. We promise to cooperate with further investigations,”
“Mr. Prosecutor, I want those who did that to my best friend to face justice. Please…” she cried, holding the prosecutor’s hands, and the prosecutor exhaled sharply.
*
She left the prosecutor’s office and her driver went to pick her up immediately heading to the press conference. She made sure that the press conference was prepared after she arrested to clear the air.

Charles drove off to Mr. Marson’s office with Carolyn/Violet and Jayden with him.
“Charles, relax,” Carolyn/Violet said.
“I don’t understand. He told me what we got would be enough, he gave us his words!” he shouted, hasten the speed.
“Charles. Vee and I can’t dle twice, and you don’t seem to care about yourself either. But Carolyn is innocent,” Jayden said, finally calming Charles with that.
“But it’s just so unfair. We worked so hard for everything, and I don’t think there is anything else we can do,” Charles grumbled.
“We’ll find out. I’m sure Mr. Marson is restless as well,” Violet said.
*
They arrived at Mr. Marson’s office and met Ivy there in company of Jon.
“This is so unfair! You told me she would pay for what she did, but instead she walked out gracefully and show he’d face in that conference!” Ivy lashed at Mr. Marson.
“Carolyn, Charles Hewlett?” Jon called when he saw them.
“Ivy,” Carolyn/ Violet called.
“Sis…” Ivy cried, and went to embrace Carolyn/Violet.
“It’s fine, Ivy. We will get our hands on her,” Carolyn/Violet assured.
“I’ll go to the prosecutor,” Ivy said.
“What?” they all shouted, expect Jon who was looking lost.
“What business do you have there?” Carolyn/Violet asked.
“I overheard thief conversation and they didn’t deny it. I can proof that Ella was Maxwell’s misstres even while you were still with him, sis. I can proof that they collide together in this,” Ivy said, and Mr. Marson shook his head.
“That’s not a good idea,” Mr. Marson said.
“Then what do we do? Watch that criminal go unpunished?!” she shouted.
“Mr. Marson, you gag us assurance. We worked so hard on this… this is really too much,” Charles snapped.
“It seems like Miss Blake was already prepared for this,” Mr. Marson said.
“Miss Blake! Miss Blake! Addressing that criminal so much respect is the reason we haven’t won her all these years!” Ivy lashed, and they all nodded in agreement.
“It’s just an old habit. Relax you all. The prosecutor in charge is a close friend of mine, so he gave me the report of their interrogation,”
“Let’s hear it,” Carolyn/Violet said and Charles cleared his throat out loud to grab thief attention.
“Not with a third party. Why is he here?” Charles gestured at Jon.
“Who is he?” Mr. Marson asked.
“Oh, he is Ivy, my boyfriend,” Ivy introduced.
“Good day, sir. I apologize for the late introduction. I’m Jon, Ivy’s boyfriend. She looked distressed so I offered her a ride, I couldn’t let her come here by her self,” Jon said.
“That’s good of you, Jon. But I hope you don’t feel offended if I ask you to excuse us. We are about to discuss something confidential,” Mr. Marson said.
“Oh, ok. I’ll be on my way now,” Jon said, and looked at Charles and Carolyn/Violet.
“Thanks for the ride, Jon. I’ll call you,” Ivy said, and packed his cheek.
“Yeah, bye. Bye,” with that, he left.
They all sat down together and Mr. Marson gave them the report of the interrogation.
“Ella denied her relationship with Maxwell. Let’s start from there. We can get the cctv in the house to proof their relationship,” Ivy said, and they all shook their head in disagreement.
“I’m sure that Ella already got rid of everything,” Mr. Marson said.
“So what do we do now?” Charles asked.
“The prosecutors are still investigating the case, they are more focused on uncovering her relationship with Maxwell, that will enough to proof that she was an accomplice,” Mr. Marson said.
“So? We just have to wait?” Charles said, and Carolyn/Violet inhaled deeply.
**
**
Violet stood by the poolside at Charles house staring blankly at the water when Charles joined her.
“Are you thinking about Ella?” Charles asked, and slightly nodded.
“What if we don’t end up winning her in the end?” she muttered, and he shook his head in disagreement.
“Nope. The wicked can never go unpunished,” Charles said, and she chuckled.
“You were the most discouraged one earlier, but look at you trying to cheer me up,”
“What else would I do but cheer you with truth. I suddenly felt like going sightseeing. Mr. Feng discovered a very tall building, we can get the view of the whole city from there. Why don’t we do some teleporting?” he winked, and she chuckled.
“Are you sure about that?” she winked back.
“Shall we?” he said, and held her hands
*
Carolyn and Jayden who stood at afar watching them let out a sigh when they teleported away.
“Is this right from your end?” Carolyn asked.
“You must care a lot about Vee or Charles, because you seem really interested in them,” Jayden said, and she glared at him.
“Of course not!” she snapped, and sang in.
“What? What’s that? Why is she suddenly angry? Or, is Vee back in there,” he grumbled, and teleport away.
**
Charles and Violet appeared at the beauty admiring the beautiful view.
“Wow. It’s so beautiful here,” she exclaimed, and he smiled.
“I’m glad you like it. Mr. Feng did a lot of work in discovering this place,”
“Thank you, Charles. Thank you for everything,” she muttered, and he embraced her.
“You deserve it all, Vee. All the beautiful things, everything,”
“And Ella also deserves to be behind bars,” she said.
“Everyone will surely get what they deserve and be where they belong. You will get to be in paradise and Ella will rot in prison forever,” he said, and she looked at him.
“And you? Where will you be by then?” she asked, and he smiled.
“Wherever I find myself,”
“Charles, you know you can choose where you want to be, right?”
“Then can I choose to be by your side?” he asked.
“Charles…”
“There is another beautiful place that Mr. Feng discovered,”
“Where?” Violet asked, and Charles smiled.
**
They explore different places and returned home later at night.
Charles tossed and turned on his bed thinking of where he will be and what he will do when Violet leave.
When his mother left, he became the shadow of his own image, he isolated himself to escape the other spirits and evil spirits wandering around before he was able to get the courage to live a normal life again. Remembering how long it took for him to heal from his mother, made him wonder if Violet will be different.
“Let the future speak for itself, Charles,” he convinced himself with that, and divert his thoughts to thinking about the gallery his father wants to offer him, “whatever, whatever. Can’t I have a peaceful night?” he grumbled, and wrapped himself in his blanket.
**
He went downstairs the following morning when Jayden summoned him to the living room without telling him what the problem was.
He met the others watching TV and he walked closer to them.
“What’s going on?” he asked no one in particular, and Violet pointed at the TV.
On the TV, the news was displaying Ella’s inauguration as the new CEO after changing the name of the company to a Blakes’ enterprise, and also her partnership with a new investor.
“Why, why is that bltch always winning?!” Violet yelled, and broke down in tears.
“This is just the beginning of her downfall,” Charles murmured, and they all looked at him, expect Violet who was already wailing.
