SAME DAY**
A COFFEE SHOP

Ella and Soo-min got out of Lucy’s car, chatting as they made way into the shop. They were out to get takeout, so they decided to buy cold coffee too since So-hee couldn’t make some at the office

“Don’t you think something is off with Rhett?” Soo-min asked and Ella nodded

“He’s looking illegally hot nowadays” She said dreamily

Soo-min shook her head and tapped the counter to get the attention to the attendant, then she placed the orders

She leaned on the counter facing Ella

“I feel like he overworks So-hee intentionally” She said and Ella shrugged

“Why do you think so?”

“Maybe cause he likes her” She said as a matter of fact, she’s seen on many occasions how he’d stare at So-hee and even laugh at her silliness

Ella chuckled and collected the bags from the attendant, after paying they started walking out

“Impossible… even if he does, we all know So-hee likes Felix” She replied

“She never said that. Did she? Besides she’s like that towards everyone” Soo-min said and Ella stopped walking, thinking what she said made sense

What if So-hee really didn’t like Felix

“Ouch, then there’s gonna be chaos in the near future” Ella replied and pushed the door open bumping into someone, luckily none of the cups spilled

“I’m so sorry…” She apologized

“Are you blind?” Came Zoey’s harsh response causing the attention in the room to divert to them. The girls smirked when they recognized it was Zoey

“I said I was sorry Zoey, you don’t have to scream like a retarded donkey” Ella snapped and Zoey gasped

“What do you mean by that little brainless twerp…” Zoey retaliated, Soo-min decided to step in since she figured both ladies wouldn’t mind staying there to hurl insults at each other all day

“We’re sorry Zoey, now will you please move out of the way?” She asked politely

“Tch…what do I expect from Shine’s stupid $lüts” Zoey spat disdainfully and Ella didn’t hesitate pushing her out of the way roughly

She and Soo-min laughed mockingly

“Atleast we’re don’t intend stealing people’s ideas like Ling Fest’s old hags” Ella mocked and they laughed all the way to Lucy’s car

They got in and met Lucy on an audio meeting so they sat quietly, soon she started the car and drove out

Zoey stood rooted to the spot still stunned at Ella’s mocking remark. She clenched her jaws and angrily stomped away without entering the cafe

HIGHWAY**

Anna and Ho-Seok kept glaring at each other while passersby stopped to watch his next reaction.

He touched his face, then his lips which had a small cut due to how hard the ring on her finger collided with his face. He ruffled his hair and exhaled, he took her hand forcibly and dragged her to where she parked her car

“Get in” He ordered and she did without wasting any time

“What was that for Nari?” He barked while she kept breathing heavily

“Shut up! Why was Min-ji with my fiance, why aren’t you with her?” She asked, looking very fierce

Ho-Seok chuckled and wiped the blood from his lips

“Fiance? Anna didn’t you openly break up with him? Now all of a sudden,he’s your fiance?” He said and laughed hysterically

Anna got angrier, she felt like ripping off his face.

“Don’t change the topic Ho-Seok, weren’t you supposed to marry Min-ji? What on Earth is she doing with Ace?!”

“We broke up!!” He yelled back and ruffled his hair. He was also finding it difficult seeing Min-ji and Ace together, now this crazy Ɓîtçh was adding to his problems

“What!!” Anna’s face reddened and she yelled out in frustration

“I want my Ace back, all to myself Ho-Seok, I don’t give a Fůçƙ how you do it but get Min-ji away from him, he’s mine alone!” She snapped, looking like a monster willing to pounce on it’s prey

“How do I do that, she’s not my fiancee anymore, besides she hates me now” He said suddenly feeling angry..but at what exactly?

He sighed, he was angry at himself for letting Min-ji go, now ever determined to get her back

“I don’t care, get out of my car freak!” She yelled and he scoffed

“Nari, next time you touch my face, I’ll not hesitate to hit you back..Ɓîtçh!” He cussed before stepping out of the car, banging the door behind him

Anna rolled her eyes and picked her phone, switching it on and immediately her mom’s call came through

“Argh, Seriously?” She voiced out angrily, why won’t her mom just let her be for goodness sake

“Anna Lee Nari! What were you doing with Ho-Seok, don’t you know he’s your sister’s greedy ex?” Her mom’s voice scolded immediately she received the call

“To hell with you mother, stop calling me continuously and whomever I meet with shouldn’t be your concern” She snapped

“Anna..” She hung up before anything else could be said.

Anna scoffed and looked around through the windows, she sighted a man in black staring keenly in the direction of her car

“Fůçƙ you mom!” She cussed igniting the engine then speedily drove away

Eun-Hae sat on the chair tiredly after Anna cut the call. Yeah,she’s Anna’s mother and God knows how much she loves her but she doesn’t know where she might’ve gone wrong to make Anna hate her so much

She sighed then looked at Min-ji’s photo with Ace

“Anna won’t take this lightly…” She mumbled and smiled as she looked at the photo again

She’s just glad Min-ji’s happy, maybe moving out was the best option for her. Sadly, Min-ji also hates her even the air she breathes irritates her

All because of her impulsiveness, she ruined everything

“Ma’am, you called for me?” A man probably in his late fifties said breaking into her thoughts, he was dressed like a butler

She dropped the phone and looked at the man, nodding

“Yes, I want you to book me a ticket to Seoul for tomorrow night” She said and he nodded before leaving

Just then, minister Lee entered the room, he was just returning from work and he looked quite tired. She stood up quickly, moving away from the chair

“Welcome Tae, how was work today?” She asked but he didn’t spare her a glance
She smiled anyway

“Anna is back from Australia, she returned yesterday” She said again but he ignored and climbed upstairs

Her lips quivered but she masked it up with a tight smile and then sat down

EVENING ( SHINE PARKING LOT )**

So-hee stood leaning on Rhett’s car while holding her bag to her chest, frowning at intervals

“$1000, what a waste of money… just for a saucer? God forbid” She shrugged at her thoughts and kicked her legs like a child

She checked around but there was no sign of Rhett. She sighed, he was talking to Clement and Lucy earlier before she left, she was getting tired already

Felix who’d be looking everywhere for her smiled when he saw her, he hurried his steps to where she stood

“Hey bunny” He smiled and she looked up smiling too, she’s not been able to speak to him properly in the past few days and damn she’s missed his taunts a bit

“Meanie!” She called and looked around

“Did you see Yi-jun on your way out?” She asked and Felix’s expression changed to a confused one, who is Yi-jun?

His brows creased in realization as his gaze ran over her, did she just address Rhett by his native name? And that too freely?

What exactly was he missing here…

“Hey, hey! Are you hallucinating?” Her voice jolted him out of thoughts. He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair

“Instead of waiting here for him, why don’t we go grab a bite, besides what could possibly happen if you’re with me?” He asked hopefully

So-hee sighed and looked around again, still no sign of Rhett. She then looked at Felix, he was right what could possibly go wrong…

“So..” Felix urged and she nodded. He smiled and took her hand while she held the bag properly then they walked out of the lot

As usual they were talking but this time Felix spoke less, he kept staring at her as she talked and laughed. She’s the most beautiful creature he has ever seen.

While still heading to the eatery, Rhett’s car came to a screeching halt beside them. He stuck his head out of the window looking effortlessly hot, he directed a pointed stare at So-hee and she looked down

“Get in” He ordered, then forced a smile at Felix but this time it wasn’t returned, instead Felix scoffed and looked at So-hee then spread his arms for a hug

“Bye, maybe some other time” She smiled hugging him briefly

“Stay safe and alert, you never know who your enemy might be” Felix said and Rhett smirked, So-hee entered the car already

“Don’t worry about that editor Shin, I’m here, good night” He said and whined the glasses shut then sped off

Felix balled his fists and kicked the floor angrily. What point was Rhett trying to prove?

Why was he so interested in So-hee all of a sudden, didn’t he dislike her before?

After venting out his frustration, he sighed and headed for the bus station

In the car, So-hee kept stealing glances at Rhett as he drove but luck was not on her side cause their gazes locked when she looked again

“Oh..” She bit her lip and took her eyes away fixing them on the road ahead

Rhett too said nothing and concentrated on the road

She cleared her throat and he smirked

“Spill”

“I didn’t mean to leave, it’s just he was going to pay for the meal” She said childishly, batting her long lashes

“Will you have dinner with me? I’ll pay the bills” He asked and she sank back into the chair, he sighed

“Do you hug everyone you see? It’s not a good thing yunno, what if the person is an assassin” He scoffed recalling how easily she went into Felix’s arms

“But Felix is not an assassin… so I..”

“Stop hugging him, I don’t like it” He snapped and her eyes widened, why did he care anyway

“Sir..?”

“So-hee”

“I meant Yi-jun” She scratched her head and glanced at his side profile, she gulped and nodded slowly

“Good” He muttered

The drive was swift since there was less traffic on the way, the car halted in front of The Kim’s residence, So-hee had received a call from her mom on her way so she asked him to drop her here

Rhett unbuckled his seatbelt too and stepped out, he observed the place with his hands tucked in his pockets

When So-hee came to the side he stood, she smiled and waved

“Goodnight Yi-jun” She started walking away

“Not so fast” He said and she stopped turning to look at him, questioningly with lips pursed, he was now in front of her

“Hug me” He blurted and she gasped

Like..did he just ask her for a hug? and that too after asking her to stop hugging Felix

What was going on in his head… She tried getting angry but weirdly she found herself embracing him.

She closed her eyes and just enjoyed his warmth, he hugged her back and they stayed like that for a while, till she broke it when she remembered where they were – In front of her parents place, knowing her mom, she’s sure Mrs. Kim saw them already; that patrol lady

“Goodnight” She ran off shyly

Rhett chuckled and watched her till she entered the house before entering his car, driving away afterwards

So-hee slammed the door shut only to turn around and meet the gleeful stares of her mom and dad and…

“Min-ji!!!” She called surprisedly and Min-ji grinned, squealing excitedly. They’d actually seen how she hugged Rhett outside and now they were thinking otherwise…

Mrs. Kim wiped an imaginary tear from her face and sniffed

“I’ll be a grandma soon, my baby’s all grown up and she made a good choice…the boy is so handsome” She said and So-hee’s jaw dropped

“That was my boss mom” She whined and Min-ji scoffed

“My @$$”

“Language Min-ji” Mr. Kim cautioned and she zipped her lips

Mrs. Kim rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her waist

“So who hugs his or her boss like that…. you held him so tightly, we feared he might die” She said and So-hee sighed, sitting beside her dad who started massaging her shoulders

“Where’s Yu-ri?” She asked as she hadn’t seen her around

“That girl has been spending more time upstairs these days and honestly it’s scaring me, can you believe she did all her chores without being forced to, then ran upstairs to her room” Mrs. Kim said, shrugging and Min-ji giggled

“I’ll go see her, that thief, she stole my credit card” So-hee sneered and stood up running upstairs

“Go easy on her” Mr. Kim yelled and laughed, knowing how that might end… either Yu-ri will frustrate So-hee till she runs out of her room or So-hee will beat Yu-ri to a pulp

Mrs Kim sighed and shook her head

“Min-ji, come let’s set the table for dinner” She said, Min-ji nodded and followed her into the kitchen

∆ UPSTAIRS >>

Yu-ri jumped back and landed on her windowsill, she sighed as she made it safely, not like the distance was much anyway

She looked back into his room and scoffed

“Boring designs” She said loudly as she sat down on the windowsill throwing her legs back and forth, waiting for him to return

Today she didn’t do anything to his room, she only had a tour around it

She was still waiting when her door was pushed open, and So-hee entered

“Yu-ri, Jesus what are you doing?” So-hee gasped as she quickly rushed to drag her into the room. She thought Yuri was about to commit suicide

“Eonni.. I wouldn’t die even if I fall from here, jeez!” Yu-ri grumbled

“Well I wasn’t taking chances, if you died, who would I kill.. like right now” So-hee said and tweaked her ear

Yu-ri yelped,

“Sis… ouch”

” My credit card, where is it!” So-hee snapped still holding tightly

Yu-ri pouted and faked crying, she wasn’t giving her the card no matter what

“Sis, that hurts!”

So-hee scoffed and started faking the sob too, increasing her voice alongside Yu-ri but she didn’t let go of Yuri’s ear

“Big sis..” Yu-ri called

“Baby sis..” So-hee called too as they continued their fake cries
