[ M&S APARTMENT ] “I’m home” Min-ji closed the door behind her, she held shopping bags

So-hee emerged from the kitchen in an apron, she rushed to Min-ji and took the bags away

“You went shopping?” She asked rhetorically and dropped the bags on the couch, then ran back to the kitchen

“Hm..so what’s for dinner tonight” Min-ji asked as she tiredly took off her blazer and sat on the couch

” Noddles, give me a minute”

” Hmm” Min-ji hummed in response, she took the shopping bags and started checking what she got. She got some skin care products for herself, a pair of shoes for So-hee and twin shirts for them

So-hee placed the pot on the small table

“Min-ji come here”

Min-ji smiled as she rushed to the table, God knows she’s d@mn hungry

They dished out and started eating

“Hmm.. So-hee this is delicious, gosh” Min-ji slurred as she dragged more into her mouth

” I’m the best cook ever, So-hee is great” So-hee smiled proudly, Min-ji gave her a thumbs up

” So how was work today Min, you’re home earlier than usual” So-hee uttered

Min-ji dropped her chopsticks and drank some water

“I was given a leave notice”

“Huh?”

“I’m on leave for a week, isn’t that awesome?”

“Yeah, but why?”

Min-ji sniffed and palmed her eyes

“I was fired!!”

“What?” So-hee stood up “they don’t know what they lost, how could they. Its good tho, you need to take care of yourself more. $©®£w that airline, tch.. Min-ji forget about them, they don’t deserve you” She hissed angrily

Min-ji burst into laughter, So-hee looked at her confusedly

“I wasn’t fired dummy, I’m just kidding. I’m the best employee of the month, so I got leave” she explained

“You’re stupid” So-hee scoffed and sat down

“Thanks girlfriend, I went shopping” Min-ji pointed at the bags

“Cool, congratulations bestie, you’re the bestest ever” So-hee cheered and they giggled

“Aww, thanks! I saw Yu-ri just some minutes ago”

“Yes, she came by to extort me as usual, such a money Ṣūçƙer and you? you’re always giving her things, what was the need to give her such expensive things, she’ll keep coming back for more” So-hee scolded

“I’m not complaining and besides Yu-ri is like my little sister, I love her so much, she’s cute, there’s no harm in giving something I’m not using to my little sister right. I wasn’t even using those clothes girl and she needed them so..”

“You make me feel like I’m bad” So-hee pouted

“You’re just stingy” Min-ji laughed

“Piss off, guess what?”

“What did Felix do again”

“Forget about him, he’s so urgh..” So-hee groaned

“Okay then, tell me”

” My boss’s son, Jung Yi-Jun is taking over from tomorrow”

“You mean Rhett?”

“Yes Rhett, I find his Korean name kinda cute actually”

“Forget his name have you seen his face and body, d@mn, he’s hot” Min-ji squealed dreamily

“He’s okay” So-hee shrugged, she’s only seen his pictures what if they were just edited, he’s overrated

“Okay? Okay? He’s not okay, he’s a demigod, his books are topnotch, I bet his voice is sweet too, I’m a huge fan of his work, I love him, you’re so lucky, I wish we could trade places” Min-ji gushed and ran to her bag, she took out a novel and came back to the table

“CLOVERS, this book is just everything” She slurred and K!SSed it continuously

“She’s mad” So-hee muttered as she watched Min-ji fangirl over a book

After dinner, they watched a little bit of TV cuddling together

“Goodnight Kim So-hee” Min-ji yawned

“Sleep tight Lee Min-ji” So-hee said and picked up her huge teddy bear, she hugged to her chest and went to her room. It was painted purple and pink all over. Her bed was stuffed with alot of pillows. She slumped on the bed with a light yawn then drifted into sleep

….

Morning,

“Wakey wakey, sleepy head” Min-ji shakes her vigorously but she didn’t budge, if there’s one thing, So-hee is a sound sleeper, she sleeps like a log

“Kim So-hee, get your @$$ up” Min-ji was getting frustrated

“Get up, don’t you have work today? What about Rhett”

Immediately Min-ji said that, So-hee sat up like a possessed person

“What did you say?… ahhh” She screamed and ran to the bathroom

Min-ji sighed, she stood up from the bed and adjusted her huge hoodie, then left the room. she isn’t going to work so she went to the kitchen to make tea for them. That’s all she can make, tea and coffee, the rest is all So-hee.

15 minutes later, So-hee descends the stairs holding her bag closely

Min-ji almost choked on her tea when she saw her, So-hee’s terrible sense of fashion will be the end of her one-day. She’s putting on a plain grey P@ŋts and button up blue shirt, her hair messy as usual, white sneakers on her feet and her glasses hanging on her nose lazily with a brown bag

Goodness!!

“So-hee what are you wearing?”

“My usual clothes, oh is it torn somewhere?” So-hee asked ignorantly twirling

“It’s not torn but you look terrible, first impression matters, you can’t let Rhett see you like this, he’ll freak”

So-hee rolled her eyes as she quickly gulped down her tea

“Take care Min, I’m leaving now” She said

“Hey change at least, it’s Rhett we’re talking about here”

So-hee scoffed and opened the door

“Bye”

“Fighting!!” Min-ji waved

So-hee entered the building with a cheerful smile on her face, she was a humming a tune. She heard some employees in the first floor having a discussion about the new boss

Rhett

He’s here already?

She entered the elevator and rode to the last floor, she got out of the elevator and suddenly had cold feet

What if she makes a mistake

What if he’s mean, meaner than Felix

She chuckled, Felix isn’t so mean, he only enjoys troubling her that’s all

She decided to make coffee like she always does before stepping into their workspace

She made the coffee and arranged them properly on a tray

“Wow, So-hee, you’re amazing!” She praised herself

“Hi So-hee” An employee waved at her and she waved back

She picked the tray and went to the door of the office workspace

She breathed in and out, she did it again twice

“Fighting!!”

She turned her back to roll the door open as usual, immediately she opened the door

“So-hee don’t move!!” Lucy screamed

“What?” She asked confusedly and took a step forward

She tripped over and the coffee spilt on someone with overly white sneakers

The cups fell, shattering

She was on her face with her eyes closed tightly

“Oh my goodness!!” The employees gasped

She blinked rapidly, the person with the white sneakers stepped back

She heard shuffling of foot wears, probably the employees were trying to clean up the mess.

“Here Rhett take this” She heard Lucy say

So-hee still lay on the floor praying inwardly for Rhett to leave already. She saw his sneakers walk around to where a pen holder lay

It belonged to Lucy

She sighed, that’s why Lucy asked her not to move. She didn’t even trip on the holder but her legs slipped

‘So-hee how clumsy can you be’ She sighed inwardly

He picked the holder

“Thanks Rhett” Lucy said

She saw the sneakers head to the direction of the CEO’S cabin

“Hey boss, the one on the floor is Kim So-hee, she’s an intern, quite clumsy” Felix laughed

So-hee scoffed, Felix shouldn’t have said that, now the new boss will think she’s incompetent

The sneakers finally entered the cabin, she breathed in relief. The others returned to their workstations

“He’s so hot” Soo-min said

She groaned dejectedly and saw another shoe walking towards her

“Bunny won’t you get up or is this a new way of working?” Felix joked and helped her up

“Did you have to say that I’m clumsy huh?”

“You are clumsy and you know I don’t lie” Felix chuckled

“Good morning everyone” She waved and arranged her shirt, they greeted her back

The mess she made was cleaned, she looked at the CEOs cabin, the chair was facing the other side and Lucy sat opposite him, so she couldn’t see his face

“So-hee photocopy these for me, three copies each!” Vivian dropped some papers on her desk

“Okay” She took them to the photocopier

“Conference room everyone, So-hee you too, when you’re done” Lucy announced

She nodded and continued photocopying the papers

In the conference room, everyone sat down, including Rhett. He changed to another shirt already. He’s looking freaking hot, he has a piercing on his left ear studded with a diamond earring. He cleared his throat

“So Rhett, tell us” Lucy said, she calls him by his name cus she’s older, she’s 30 years, the rest are under

Rhett nodded and opened a file

“My dad told me about the new edition of this year’s magazine. I’ve gone through all the other editions and it’s all lit, you guys have been doing a really good job here, thank you” he said and they applauded

“But the profits started dropping after the past two editions, Ling Fest outsold us for those years, they might even do so again this year. Why?” He said and looked at them

Ling Fest is a rival magazine company

“We tried our best tho” Ella shrugged

“That sneaky Ling Fest stole almost all our ideas and published a month earlier last year, I h@të them” Clement sneered

Felix nodded in agreement

“Even had interviews with the same celebrities as ours, d@mn, I felt like killing someone when I saw it” He sighed

“True, Ling Fest is sneaky. but we need to outsell them this year else we might remain at the bottom for a long time, so…” Rhett paused

*GRRRRR, GRRRRR*

So-hee was pulling a chair to the table, she couldn’t carry it cos it is heavy so she decided pulling would be better. Everyone’s attention was diverted to her.

When she noticed they’d stopped talking, she looked around and chuckled nervously

“The chair is kinda heavy, so…” She trailed and sat down fiddling with the book in her hand.

“Let’s continue, we need to do something different for this edition…” Rhett paused again

So-hee was still dragging the chair, she just wanted to move it closer to the table so she would write

“I’m sorry” She bit her lip

They laughed apart from Rhett who was frowning at her unprofessionalism

“So are you comfortable now?” Lucy asked, she nodded and glanced at Rhett, she flinched and took her eyes off his face. He doesn’t look happy and only his glares can end her existence.

She opened the book and took out a pen. She gulped, she can still feel his gaze. He’s hot but his anger might burn her soon

“Rhett..?” Lucy called

“Yes, I hope we’re not distracted by silly things again. Lucy and I went over the last two editions and thought of this..” He pressed his laptop and an image was projected on a screen

They gasped, it was a new cover write-up for the magazine

“Yes, Shine 2.0. We gotta reload our stories and gossips to another level right?” Lucy asked and they applauded more

“We are publishing in four months time, so we need ideas. Something different, something crazy we’ve never thought of doing or writing in a magazine” Rhett hyped

“Let’s do bigger celebrities this time around” Felix suggested

“Fashion is our goal so we need more fashion tips and public figures in this baby” Vivian said

Soon different suggestions started flying in from all of the employees, Rhett was also talking, he also gave suggestions. So-hee wanted to say something but,she just decided against it

“Can I say something?” She mumbled but no one heard her due to how loud they were speaking

Felix somehow saw her giggling at something Ella said and smirked mischievously

“She has something to say” He said and they faced So-hee who was still giggling oblivious of the eyes on her

Rhett became impatient and banged his fist in the table, she flinched almost flying from the chair

“What do you want to say” He growled, she’s too unprofessional for his liking, goodness knows how stupid her suggestions might be

“What?” She blinked

“So-hee what do you want to say. Don’t be shy, just say it” Soo-min cooed, So-hee took her eyes back to her book to avoid Rhett’s mean gaze, she cleared her throat

“I think we should do what we know best. This is a Korean magazine not a foreign one, so why not more of our culture, food, fashion, music and gossips” She looked up, then back down again

“We should include schools too, villages and local factories in our story. Then few international news, the last two editions had too much news about other culture than ours, so people didn’t fancy it, I also didn’t like it. It was just burrowed culture, so let’s do us this time around” She shrugged

The room was quiet, everyone was stunned. Did So-hee, their clumsy So-hee just say that??

Rhett’s eyes were widened, what she said actually makes sense. He leaned back on his chair

“So-hee?” Vivian called in disbelief

So-hee quickly covered her eyes with the book, maybe she said something wrong

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry” She bowed

“We’ll do just that, give it up for So-hee everyone” Lucy said and they applauded

Rhett clapped along, he didn’t expect her to be so intelligent.

So-hee kept giggling happily like a child who just won candy

“Thanks!” She beamed

“After hearing her suggestion, I believe we know what to do. Lucy is heading the project, she’s got more experience than all of us here. So everyone get your writing gear on and let’s make it to the top once again” Rhett said

“Yess” They chorused

“We have just four months to go and we need to be extra careful every idea should remain in here, we’re all writers and editors here so I trust you guys. we wouldn’t want Ling Fest to steal our ideas again” He warned

” Yes boss!!” The chorused

“Yes fighting!!” So-hee beamed standing up, her chair fell back with a loud clash

“SERIOUSLY!!” Rhett growled

“I’m sorry..” She grinned struggling to pick up the chair

Rhett hissed and left the room, the others left after talking to So-hee

“Wow bunny, never knew you were this smart, what you said actually made sense” Felix teased her

“I’m very intelligent you see” she scowled at him

“I know that now, it was awesome…let me treat you to lunch today” He said

So-hee scoffed and sat down, she opened her laptop then squinted her brows to look at Felix whose face was close to hers

“You!! How did you know I had something to say?” She asked

He shifted back nervously

“You looked like you had something to say”

She touched her head, she was giggling at that time, she remembers.

So-hee gasped and pointed at him

“So you wanted me to make a fool of myself, meanie!! you’re so mean”

“What? you always make a fool of yourself” Felix grinned

“Ahhh, you!!” So-hee stood up and started chasing him around the office

They rest laughed as they watched them run around, it happens alot so they’re use to it

“I so love my job and this office” Ha-na laughed

Rhett who was staring at them from his office, took a remote control and pressed it to close the blinds.

“Bunny let’s talk this out”

“No!!” So-hee screamed and they continued their chase
