Jake surrendered to Emma and she brought out a first aid box to treat his wound.
“It will string a little, but it’s best you receive the first aid now before you go to the hospital,” she said, as she cleaned the wound, “Thank you… for coming to my aid,”
“You should be careful,”
“I know. I should be careful, but I’ve been living this way all my life and I’ve never been attacked by a man with a knife. I have never been harrased by a man before, who could’ve thought of such,”
“Never say never,”
“Yes, there is always a first time for everything. I have never seen a handsome lawyer before, I thought all handsome men are actors,” she said, and he looked at her.
“I’ll be on my way now,”
“Wait. Let me tie a bandage around it,” she said, and he nodded, “I thought you were a gangster. I mean… a mafia, that’s what the Prosecutor told me on the phone, he told to be careful around you that you could hurt me,”
“Don’t be convinced, I could still hurt you,”
“But you didn’t. You saved me from the unknown attacker. I wonder who he was and what he wants from me. It could be money, because today is pay day,” she said, and he scoffed wondering how easy she was.
“You think he is just a burglar after your money?”
“Isn’t he? Do you think he is a pervert?!” she screamed, and folded her arms around her body in fear.
He shook his head in disbelief and got up after she tied the bandage.
“I’ll take my leave now,”
“Do you care for some food? I am suddenly craving meat. Whenever I get scared, I crave food. Meat, to be precise. Do you want to join me?”
“Thanks for the offer, I’ve to be on my way now,”
“Oh… such a shame, you saved me and I can’t even treat you to a meal,”
“I’ve to leave now,”
“Then next time. I’ll hold on to your card and give you a call,”
“Your wish, but you rather not. I’m a very busy man. I’ll reach out to you once Celia return,”
“Are you rejecting my approach?”
“Pardon?”
“Gosh, do you think I’m hitting on you?”
“I don’t follow,”
“I mean… yes you’re handsome, and you’re totally my type. Like, who wouldn’t fall for a handsome mysterious guy. But, no. I can’t sloop so low to ask you out first. I just wanted to express my gratitude and treat you to a meal, but you bluntly reject my offer,”
“I’ll be on my way now,” with that, he left before she could say another word.
“Such a proud j£rk. How could be a mafia? That doesn’t make sense, the prosecutor must be mistaken. Gangsters can’t be lawyers. Gosh, I can’t believe he saved me,” she thought, blushing slightly.

LADY BIANCA’S MANSION^^^
^
Bianca was preoccupied with her thoughts all day, thinking about Jay’s request, and blaming herself for belittling him.
“How can I make him the Underboss? This is impossible,” she grumbled, and thought of a way to convince him.
She summoned him to her private living room later and he joined her almost immediately.
“Do you remember? When I was a teenager, my father hits me a lot and there was never a reason to smile. Nothing was amusing. You were the first person to ever make me smile in this house,” she said, and he chuckled.
“I vividly remember, and your smile was beautiful. It was the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen,” he said, ans she smiled.
“And now? Do you still think my smile is beautiful?” she winked, and went to seat next him creasing his tight.
“Not only your smile, but everything about you,” he said, and kissed her.
“Jay, inaugurating you as the Underboss will put me in a bit of situation, and you’re aware of that,”
“We can conquer them all together,”
“How? How do I conquer the West if they all come against me? They don’t even approve me from the start. What if they form another gang and start running their own business behind our back?”
“Is that what you’re scared of?”
“Arent you worried?”
“What you’re afraid of won’t happen. I’ll prevent it from happening,”
“Yes, you should. That’s why you should stop being ambitious. I’ll give you power, but not the Underboss. You’ve to climb the ladder gradually,”
“No. I’ve never climbed the ladder, I destroy it and aim at what I want,” he said, intimidating her.
“Does that explains how you destroyed the ladder and became my father’s righthand man out of the blues “
“And also how you became the Lady of the West,”
“It was you? Did you staged the attack that happened years ago?” she gasped.

FLASHBACK to few years ago***
*
Lord Greyjoy (Bianca’s father) went hunting and he was suddenly attacked by a masked assailant. All the men with him passed out like they have been drugged and he felt dizzy and too weak to fight his opponent who almost shot him but Jay came out of nowhere to take the shot instead, and the Boss passed out eventually.

FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Jay chuckled softly as he remembered the event that portrayed in Lord Greyjoy’s mind.
“That was his hallucinations. Because he was also shot with a dose,”
“What did you do? What really happened?”
“I was the attacker, and I shot myself right after he passed out. I was the one who filled his head with that imagination and presented a d£ad assailant to him. That’s how far I can go to destroy a ladder, that’s how far I can go for you,” he said, and Bianca flinched in fear.
Although she knew that he was capable of doing that, but hearing it directly from him terrified her.
“Indeed, he has no fear. I let my guards down,” she thought.
“Oscar will be transferred to the Prosecutor tomorrow, we’ve to stop that. Make me the Underboss, I don’t want to take a long route when there is a detour,” he said, and she nodded, wordlessly, “If that’s all, I’ll be on my way now,” having said that, he bowed slightly and took the exit.
“Now that it has come to this, I’ve to get rid of him. He will continue making demands, and I won’t be able to control him,” she thought, and dialed a number.

LORD DOM’S ISLAND HOUSE^^^
^
Celia woke up the following morning and was surprised to meet herself in her room. The last thing she remembered was falling asleep in Lord Dom’s arm and she giggled at the thought.
“He was Mr. Dragon, and… what does this mean? Does it mean there is something going on between us?” she deliberated, and before she could giggle at the reflection, another thought crossed her mind, “What if he think of me as a wh0re? That’s was it. I vulnerably gave myself to him twice,” she grumbled.
She went to freshen up later when her door suddenly burst open which made her leave the bathroom in hurry and she went out to see Aria.
“Celia, I knocked. I thought you were asleep, or scared that you might’ve passed out again,”
“Oh… I must’ve caused a lot of trouble m. I’m sorry,”
“Why did you wake up late? Daddy and I already had our morning jog,”
“Your Daddy?”
“Yes. What? Did he scold you? He was really pissed yesterday,”
“I’m sorry…”
“Forget it. You can come out when you’re ready,” with that she left.
Celia exhaled heavily and composed herself before twisting the doorknob and the moment she opened her door, she froze on her feet when she saw Lord Dom.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked, and her eyes widened.
“Is he trying to play dumb again? Does he think I was drunk last night?” she thought.
“No, I’m not playing dumb. It’s an honest question,” he said, and she gasped.
“What? I said that out loud?!” sne shouted, and covered her mouth.
“Don’t act awkward around Aria, we will talk after breakfast,” he said, and left first.
“We will talk? What does he mean by that?” she thought, tucking her hair behind her ears as she blushed slightly by the silly thoughts running through her mind.
*
She joined them in the dinning room, and they were eating silence until Aria broke the silence.
“Daddy, does this mean we are returning home? This isn’t a break anymore. The thugs recognized me. They addressed me as ‘Little Lady’,”
“What do you think? You’re very famous as the Little Ladh of the South,” he teased.
“Daddy, you can’t joke with this. If a gang come against us, we’re outnumbered,”
“Do you think so?”
“Dadddyyyy…”
“What do you take me for? I’m more stronger than a whole city gang combined. I’m going to protect you, either they are a gang or a bunch,”
“And you?”
“Me… I’ve to be safe if I’m going to protect you,”
“So, are we staying? Does that mean we are not going to leave the island?”
“We will leave, but you won’t be alone with your nanny, I’ll accompany you,”
“Daddy, are they from the East?”
“Aria, let me worry about them, allow me worry about my enemies while you enjoy the break. I promise to protect you,” he assured, and she nodded.
*
They finished eating later and Celia joined Lord Dom outside after doing the dishes.
“What do you want us to discuss?” he started, and she looked at him — he was the one who wanted to discuss something, and she believed they both need to address somethings.
“What…” she mumbled, wordlessly.
“I thought you wanted to talk,”
“I… I…” she stuttered, thinking of what to say, and a thought crossed her mind, “Yes, the nightstand. You were aware that I was your nightstand, but when I mentioned it, you lied. You told me that you don’t know,”
“Because I didn’t know back then,”
“And now you know?”
“Do you want an apology?”
“I know I can’t demand an apology from the sophisticated Mafia. But here I am, I’m just a girl that felt like…” she was saying, but he interjected with a kiss.
She found herself kissing back and he pulled away.
“Do you still need an explanation?” he teased, and she looked away in embarrassment.
“I… I… what… I’m not a wh0re!” she shouted, wondering if he takes her as a wh0re to satisfy his desire.
“I never sleep with same wh0re twice,”
“What do you mean?”
“Is that too hard to comprehend?”
“I… I…”
“I know that you aren’t a wh0re, because I don’t sleep with same wh0re twice,”
“Then what am I to you?” she found herself asking— it was the best moment to define their relationship.
“You’re Aria’s nanny, but I can’t do that if you’re Aria’s nanny either. It will bleach of my policy,”
“So…”
“I don’t know,”
“So… should we pretend like nothing happened and move on since we can’t define it,”
“You must be very good with moving on,”
“I guess I am. Society hasn’t been really friendly with me since I was a child, so I’m always quick to move on. I can pretend like it never happened, just like I pretended never to date shy of my ex after we broke up. I’m so good at that. I told you before, I’m very good at acting,”
“What do we do?”
“I just brought my own suggestion,”
“I’m not good at acting,”
“What?”
“Rather than pretending and acting, let’s go for something you’re better at,”
“What?”
“The real purpose of a break. Let’s enjoy this break to the fullest,” he whispered in her ear sending shivers down her spine and she blushed slightly.
“What does this mean? Why am I excited over an undefined relationship?” she thought, but she couldn’t contain her excitement.
