IN AN UNKNOWN PLACE^^^
^
Louis was busy working in his room when he heard the main gate crack open, he glanced out firm his window but saw nothing, so he went out to check up on Charlotte. It’s late at night, so he was sure that’s he should be fast asleep.
He placed a gentle knock on the door but got no response, so he assumed that she was asleep, so he opened the door gently, and went to her bedside. Charlotte was never the kind to cover her entire body while sleeping, so he pulled away the blanket from her face and saw a work of art, built with blankets in form of a human.
“Seriously, Charlotte!” He shouted, and took the note she left behind.
🗒️*As much as I want to keep my promise and wait till I recover before taking actions, I can’t. I’m sorry Louis, and Thabk you for everything.*
He dropped the note, and ran out of the room. He drove out hurriedly heading to the bus by station, and saw told that the loading bus heading to the city left already.
“Charlotte, why are you doing this to me?” He grumbled, running his fingers through his hair.
*
Charlotte hid somewhere watching him from afar, she was unable to board the loading bus because she had to buy tickets. She took some cash from Louis wallet yesterday to get the bus ticket, so she was leaving with the next bus.
She watched him return to his car on the phone with Simeon before entering the bus.
“I’m sorry, Louis, I’m really sorry but my baby needs me more right now,” she cried.

HOLLAND HIGH^^^
^
The weekend fly by within a blink, and the students started arriving at school on Monday morning, talking about the party, and also the announced engagement.
*
Paulina alighted from her car, heading inside. She already made up her mind to avoid Micheal and his friends, and standup for herself no matter who she will be up against. Michael didn’t send her any message or call her the entire weekend, and she didn’t bother to think about it at all, because she was expecting it.
*
She was about to enter the building when she felt a large arm pulled her forcefully, and dragged her to a corner.
“Let me, let me go!” She shouted, and managed to free herself.
She looked at the person, and let out a sigh when she was it was Stanley.
“What do you want?” She lashed.
“A word,” he muttered.
“Why did you drag me that way just because you want a word with me?”
“Became I know you won’t want to listen. You left our club group, so I’m sure you are probably sulking,”
“Sucking? Sulk over what?”
“I don’t know much about Ava and Mike’s relationship, but everything Mike told you was true. Mike and Ava were in a relationship during first year, but they broke up and hate each other now,”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Because I know you must’ve misunderstood the situation. Mike promised to get rid of Ava, then he was suddenly engaged to her. Believe me or not, but Mike never fo0led you, about Ava at least,”
“So how will you explain the engagement?”
“It must be his parents. Mike might been tough like he got it all, but he has no say in his parents decisions. They were the ones pulling the strings, he can’t make a decision of his own as long as they are involved. Until other kids, he never had a fun childhood, he has always been building himself to be a great chairman, as his parents wish. Nothing can change the fact that he is the heir, but he has been proving himself since he was younger. I’m sure he is somewhere sulking, and ashamed. He doesn’t know how to face you, because he has to explain all these, and he never show his weakness,”
“Why are you telling me this?” She muttered, already calmed.
“Because Mike needs you, he is at his weakest now, and I’m sure you can cheer him up,” he muttered, and Paulina sniffed in, before looking away.
*
Lia, Alicia, and Rae sat together in class, as the entire class were talking about Ava’s engagement to Micheal.
“What now, girls? If she and Mike are back together with a tighter bond. We can’t afford staying distant from her,” Alicia said.
“Who cares? She has been too fo0l of herself since she returned. Bossing us around like she is a queen or something,” Rae sneered, rolling her eyes.
“Of course, she is!” Lia and Alicia chorused.
“Won’t you be proud if you are in her shoes? Her family own one of top three group in California, and one of the top twenty in the world. And now she is engaged to most handsome and wealthiest teenager,” Lia stated, and Alicia nodded in agreement.
“We shouldn’t have fought with her in the first place,” Alicia said in a whisper.
“What’s the point of being friends with her if she can’t see us as one? I don’t regret talking back at her,”
“Of course, you can say that now, but what happens when she collide with the MASS to evict us from her sight?” Lia grumbled.
“We should make up with her, babes. It has been h£lish to be in the same club with her, I was even thinking of switching clubs,” Alicia exclaimed.
“Go make up with her if you want, but count me out. I had enough of her bltchy attitude,”
“Frankly speaking Rae, we were all aware of that snobbish behavior from the start, and we endured it through middle school, and up till now,” Lia point out.
“At least we all have mutual enemies then. Now, she is just hating on that parasite without a good reason,” Rae blurted.
“And you said it yourself, she is a parasite. You would act the same if you were in Ava’s shoes, and we would have start up for each other the same way,” Alicia said.
“The problem started because that little schooler got lucky to be favored by Mike, but now the table turned, and Ava is the queen again,” Lia said, and Alicia nodded along.
“Whatever! I don’t regard her as a friend anymore,” Rae said.
“Rae… let’s just make up with her once and for all. For all I care, we were once friends. The ALAR.” Lia remark.
“So tacky,@ Rae grumbled.
“Come on, Rae,” Alicia urged.
“I’m out. And you, Alicia, didn’t you sly us once because of that middle class guy that you like? Why are you suddenly acting like you cared about this friendship?”
“Rae…” Lia called.
“It’s true, Lia, she sly us once and you were determined to cut off ties with her. You personally removed her from our group chat so stop acting up,”
“That makes us friends. We fight and get back together,” Alicia said.
“Go to her and see if she considers you guys as a friend, but count me out,” with that she directed her attention to her phone.
“What do we do, girl?” Alicia asked.
“Make up with Ava of course. It was all Rae’s fault that we had this misunderstanding in the first place,” Lia blurted, glaring at Rae who didn’t spare her a glance.
“You’re right, girl. Rae started everything in the first place,” Alicia added.
*
The teacher enter the class and they all divert their attention to the attention to the teacher. After the tiring lectures, the teacher left and Lia turned to Rae.
“Bae, we’re going to Ava now,” Lia said, looking at Rae who ignored them by plugging her headphones to her ear.
“Yes, we should,” Alicia added, and removed Rae’s headphones.
“I’m out, suit yourselves,” Rae blurted, and left the class.
“What do we do now?” Alicia grumbled.
“Rae is just being stubborn,”
“We should give her sometime,”
“There is no time, bae. If Ava join hands with Mike, we will be her first target before that parasite. Let’s just go to Ava now, and wait for Rae to come around,” Lia said, and Alicia nodded.
They both went to Ava who chuckled at the sight of them.
“Hi, girl,” they both chimed cheered
“Congratulations on your engagement,” Lia added.
“You and are just meant to be. You both made a perfect couple before you broke up, and now you’re matched together by your parents like destiny,” Alicia remarked.
“I know, right? Destiny!” Lia giggled.
“Get lost!” Ava muttered, and they both exchanged glances before letting out a sigh.
“Bae, are you still mad at us? We already talk Rae out for you,” Lia said, making Ava, and Alicia looked at her. She winked at Alicia who smiled, and nodded along.
“Yes, it was all Rae’s fault, so we taught her a lesson for you. How can we be friends with a nuisance like her?” Alicia added, and Lia smiled in relief.
“You two should get lost, but ensure you are alert when I need you, but for now, the teacher own the ground,” Ava stated, and their face brightened up in excitement.
“Does that mean we are cool now?” Lia beamed.
“I’m so glad, Ava, now we are back to how we used to be,” Alicia giggled.
“Can we return to the suite now?” Lia asked grinning softly.
“Get lost!” Alicia muttered, and they laughed sarcastically before returning to their seats.
Ava snickered after they left, before diverting her attention to her phone. She already expected them to return after the news of her engagement circulate. She have no intention of being friends with them again after everything that conspire between them, but thinking back and following her grandfather’s advise, they were the best people to keep around, the lackey that would do anything she wanted.
“It’s all working out, and it’s best with Rae out,” she thought, and a wicked smile spread across her face.

CHAIRMAN RUSS’S MANSION^^^
^
Micheal tossed and turned on his bed fighting his nightmare to wake up
*
*
◐ˍ◑ IN HIS NIGHTMARE◐ˍ◑
*
Eight years old Mike ran as fast as his legs could carry him to escape the monster chasing him with a stick. He ran crying in agony, without looking at where he was heading, he was almost ran over by a car and he panicked and fainted in front of the car. Waking up with thoughts that he has escaped the monster, he looked around and saw surrounded by a ton of monster.
“Argghhh….” He screamed, and jolted up from bed, panting heavily.
**
His alarm might fail to wake him up, but he his nightmare never failed.
He had a long day all through the weekend drinking himself away, after his last conversation with his father. He couldn’t think straight afterwards, so in order to stop himself from thinking about anything. He isolated himself for days, and had nothing but alcohol.
*
He left the bed weakly, and almost collapsed on the floor but a strong grip lifted him up, and he looked up to see Mr. Jones.
“Mr. Mike, why are you doing this to yourself?” Mr. Jones inquired worriedly, and Micheal smiled weakly.
“Am I not allowed to do this as well?” He growled.
“Sir, you’ve a meeting today after school, it can’t be adjourned,”
“That again?” He sneered. “But even with all that, I still need her!” He snapped, and Mr. Jones bowed. “I’ve to be at school anyways,” he muttered, and wobbled on his feet to the bathroom.
*
He prepared for school, and the chef served his breakfast.
“Take them back,” he muttered.
“Sir… you should at least have a bite,” one of the chefs said, and the others glanced at her discreetly before looking away. That was the first time a lowly chef would talk back at him.
“You must be new in my quarters,” he spluttered, and the chef cower.
“Mr. Mike, she is your personal dietary, and also a premium chef. She started working at the mansion few months ago, and madam detailed her to your service, after learning about your health,”
“Mum did?”
“Yes, sir,” Mr. Jones replied, and Micheal smirked.
“You, look up,” he said, and the chef struggled before taking a peek at him, and instantly looked away.
“He asked you to look up!” Mr. Jones snapped, and Micheal gestured him to stop.
“It’s fine,” he spoke softly before leaving.
*
He got to school and many students gathered him asking bunch of questions, he was quite unlucky to arrive at school during recess.
He sighed heavily in despair, he has never been so adrift before, he just stood there hoping his friends come to his rescue.
He closed his eyes, tearing for an escape when he felt someone held his hand. The students can throw questions, but none of them has the audacity to touch him. Only his friends and one other person, Paulina.
He opened his eyes, and his gaze met her beautiful eyes.
“Let’s go,” she muttered, and intertwined her fingers in his.

IN MRS. RUSS’OFFICE^^^
*
Mrs. Russ was watching a video on her tablet —video of Paulina and Michael that recently happened. She chuckled derisively, and put the phone away.
Her face brightened up, and looked at her secretary.
“Has the new chef resumed work at Micheal’s quarter?” She asked.
“Yes, ma’am. And it was reported that he had a conversation with her,”
“Wow,”
“Ma’am, if I may ask, why did you detailed her to work for him? He has more than enough staffs,”
“You may not ask,” she growled, and he bowed his head.
“Pardon my blunder , ma’am,”
“It seems like everything is falling in place,” she muttered, her face lifted, grinning widely.
