Austin left the broadcasting room, and stood on the rooftop of the broadcast station. The fact that Micheal is an illegitimate was shocking enough, but everyone else know expect him. Stanley knew it all, Ava knew as well, and even Paulina.

“So why was I left in the dark?” He grumbled, and threw his fist in the air.

“Austin, why are you here?”

“I don’t want to speak to any of you. So, leave!”

“Austin, I’m sure Mike has his reasons for hiding it from us. If I were him, I would do the same,”

“Us? The nerve of you to use that word. You weren’t in the dark Stan, I was the only one. Why? Because I’m gong to mock him? You thought I was gonna call him a piece of trash like Ava does? Or you probably thought I was going to bully him. You all think too little of me!”

“I didn’t tell you because I wish I never find out as well. My curiosity got the best of me, and I started digging into what I shouldn’t have. I made a mistake, that why I doesn’t feel it’s right to share it, I couldn’t even confront Mike about it,”

“And when that scandal broke out, what did you tell me then? You went ahead and dig out everything, and kept the information to yourself. You played oblivious, and took me for a f0ol,”

“I’m sorry, man. I’m out of excuses,”

“How long have you known? Was it when the scandal broke out, or before then?”

“Before then. It was when he broke up with Ava,”

“What? You knew that all these years?”

“I didn’t intend to pry, but Mike said it himself. He was drunk that night, after Ava broke up with him. You were on a training, so you couldn’t hang out with us, he said he wasn’t a true elite, he said he was a piece of trash and that’s why Ava broke up with him. I was confused at that moment, and allowed my curiosity take the best of me. Austin, sulking this way isn’t the best way ro resolve this. Mike needs us now than ever,”

“Sulking? The nerve of you to use that word!”

“Austin…”

“Leave! Now! Otherwise, I’ll be the one to complete the unannounced broadcast!” He lashed, and Stanley exhaled heavily.

“I’ll leave, man. I believe you need time to think,” with that Stanley left.

“They all knew, they all knew expect me,” he muttered, in a sober voice.
**

Mifheal and Paulina sat in his suite with different thoughts running on thier minds when Stanley walked in.

“Mike, are you ok?” He asked.

“Is Austin ok?” Micheal asked back.

“He will get over it. He is just sulking,”

“How did you know? I’m aware that I shouldn’t be asking you that, but I’m still curious. How long have you known?”

“It was after you broke up with Ava. I’m sorry,” he said, and Michael’s eyes widened.

“Since then? Did Ava told you?”

“Ava and I aren’t that close. You were the one who told me,”

“I did? When?”

“You said it yourself when you were drunk, that you aren’t a true elite. You said she broke up with you because you were a piece of trash, but I couldn’t bring sense from it all. My curiosity got the best of me, and… I’m sorry, man. I shouldn’t have pried “

“How come you didn’t say anything? You acted up all these while and pretended like you knew nothing. Why? Does it make you feel better?”

“Mike…. I couldn’t do anything because u regretted it. I acted like I knew nothing because I wish I didn’t. I shouldn’t have pried, it was my mistake,”

“I should have known from the start, there can’t be anything hidden from you. I should’ve known,”

“Mike…. I really didn’t mean to pry,”

“Get out, I don’t want to see you,”

“Mike,” Paulina called.

“Stay out of it, Lina. Leave!”

“Mike, come on,” Paulina said.

“It’s fine, Lina. Allow him take it out on me. I made a mistake, so it’s just right. I’ll leave, man, if that will make you feel better,” with that he left.

“Mike you shouldn’t have done that. He made a mistake, and he apologized for it,”

“Lina, don’t take his side,” he muttered.

“Mike…”

“I’m so embarrassed right now. The fact that he knew these whole time and acted up is so embarrassing,” he said in a sober voice, and she embraced him.

Austin was eating alone at the cafeteria during recess break, and the students didn’t stop pointing fingers and grumbling words.

He ignored them all and paid more attention to his meal, when Simeon drew the seat opposite him. He looked up to see its Rae.

“Why are you here alone like a lost puppy?”

“I wanna be alone,”

“That’s not the energy,”

“Just leave,”

“Do you really mean it? Rumors are going around that Mike disband the MASS, and that was what he wanted to announce. Steven transferred without trace, and here you are eating alone. So it all just make sense,”

“Just leave while I’m being polite,” he muttered, and she chuckled.

“Too bad, my thought I was flung to save you this time. Well… I’m leaving, I really am,” she said, and intend to leave but he held her back. “Why say what you don’t mean?” She teased, and sat down back.

“Can we leave this place together? I shouldn’t have come here,”

“Follow me,” she said, and held his hand leading him away.
*
She lead him to the poolside, and started removing her shoes.

“Do you want to swim?” He asked.

“Nope. I just want to wet my legs with the water. It works for relaxation, you should do the same,” she said, and he chuckled.

“Let’s give it a shot,” he said, and removed his shoes and started pulling off his trousers.

“What are you doing? You don’t have to remove that,”

“Then I’ll have to roll it up, what if it comes down and gets wet?”

“You are such a clown. Do as you like,” she teased, and he chuckled.
*
They both sat by the poolside with their legs in the water, staring at the beautiful water.

“I never could have imagined that this could be relaxing. The guys really need to try this,”

“That means you guys aren’t disbanding after all,”

“We had a misunderstanding, and I doubt if we can ever return to how we used to be,”

“I bet there are times when friends need that space. We all met as strangers anyways,”

“Like you and your friends?”

“Kind of,”

“Why were you suddenly out? I thought it was Alicia before, and it was reasonable because of the broadcast,”

“I stopped being friends with them,”

“Why?”

“I wasn’t feeling it anymore. The friendship. We were looking more like a cult than friends, and I hate others bossing me,”

“Oh… Ava must’ve got on titration nerve,”

“I thought this was supposed to be about you,”

“Am I prying?” He muttered.

“What happened between you and the others?”

“They are hiding something from me. They both knew it, but kept me in the dark. Yeah, I know I can be unreasonable at times, but I also know the value of friendship, but they think too little of me, they don’t trust me,”

“They must’ve had their reasons. I believe people hid things at times because they can’t bring themselves to share it. There is one thing about timing, there is always a time for everything, but no time will seem right if you can’t find courage to do something. And that might be the case,”

“Gosh. Did you just take their side?”

“Do you want me to take sides?”

“You don’t even know what they hid from me,”

“You should have shared it if you wanted me to know. But, no. Since it’s difficult for your friends to share it with you, then it won’t be easy for you to share it as well,”

“I really don’t know, Rae. I wanna get angry, I want to be mad, but you just ruin it all,”

“So, are you forgiving them?”

“I wasn’t planning to be angry for too long. Like Stanley said, I was just sulking and I guess I was,”

“You should go to them,”

“Nah… I have pride too. What will going to them so easily make me?” He said, and she laughed.

“How have your studying been going? Have you finally given up?”

“There is no such thing as giving up,”

“The mid semester exam is by the corner,”

“Yeah. I’ll ace it, so I can begin my training. My coach has been bothering me,”

“You really have confidence “

“If I don’t, what will I do?”

“What’s your study guide?”

“Study guide? What’s that?”

“Gosh. How do you study without a guide?”

“I study all the subjects, I need to improve in all. I really have a long way to go,”

“More reasons why you need a guide,”

“Why don’t you just help me?”

“Why should I? You were trying to threaten me before,”

“I really lost it then. I don’t know what to do,”

“Your father is something else. I believe he is one of the rare fathers that worry about grades,”

“I also don’t understand him at times. I’m the heir either I have good grades or not. Just because he and mum are smart, and my sisters are all smart as well, he thought he could have it all,” he grumbled, and she laughed.

“I now see why he is the chairman of the parents board,”

“You can say all that because you aren’t in my shoes. Even if you are, you managed to have good grades,”

“I don’t usually do group reading, I just find a convenient time to study on my own, and at times I pick up some things from class. But let’s give it a shot. The truth is, I’m also a fan of you, I love to see you play basketball, I like it when you win those medals for our school. If you don’t go, then Chris might be the one to win, and I hate that guys gut. He is too fo0l of himself, I mean…. I believe everyone at that school are. Holland high deserves to keep on winning as we always do. So, let’s give it a shot,” she said, and he embraced her.
**
**
Stanley went to the school bar, and kept himself company with a bottle of alcohol. There is no way he could go to class, and he can’t even try to apologize to Micheal again. Austin is equally mad too, so he believed everything was his fault.

His mother has always warned him against prying into people’s private lives, but it couldn’t be helped. He found himself hacking into his father’s home phone when he was younger, and discovered he had a mistress, and made the same mistake with Micheal too.

“This is just too hard…” he grumbled, and emptied his glass of wine when someone took the seat next to him.

“Seeing you like this, the rumor must be true,” the person said, and he turned to see Jessica.

“What do you even know?” He grumbled.

“Compared to you, I know nothing. You are the best in cybersecurity, and best at math, what could I know?”

“Are you that envious of me?” He asked, and she glared at him.

“You must have a lot going on. Please, leave. school dismissed already, so it’s time to shut the bar. School president’s duty!” she said, and he checked his wristwatch.

“Gosh, you are right. I didn’t realize how much time flies,”
*
He went to his motorcycle and tried to drive, but he started feeling dizzy from drinking all day.

“If I were you, I would order a ride,” he heard Jessica said, walking past her.

“I wish I could,” he muttered, and held his head in pain.
*
Stanley and Jessica sat together in the closet coffee shop, and he emptied his cup of coffee in a single gulp.

“Wow. That was so good,” he exclaimed.

“You seem to be doing better, I should get going now,” she said, and intend to leave but he held her back. “What?!” She blurted.

“I thought you wanted to keep me company,” he said, and she scoffed.

“Why should I?” She blurted.

“Can’t you be nice to me? Why do you hate me so much? We have been school mates for years,”

“So? There are over thousands of people at school,”

“And you just hate me from those thousands,”

“What are you talking about? I have few friends, I believe everyone knows that,”

“Same. I also have just Mike, Austin, and Steve.“

“Everyone knows that too,”

“But I also want us to be friends,”

“Do you think that would make me accept you in the math club?”

“It’s not only about the math club…” he shuddered, and his phone started beeping strangely.

“What’s that about?” She asked, a bit startled.

“Why is he around here?” He grumbled.

“What? Are you using that to track someone?”

“Thanks for the coffee, I’m feeling better now. Let’s leave,”

“Wait. Are you running from someone?” She asked.

“You talk too much!” He blurted, and dragged her up.

They both went to the parking lot, and saw his father alighting from his car, so he managed to hid behind her car till he was gone.

“What’s that about? Did you just hid from your father?”

“Was that my father?”

“Are you kidding me? Your phone made that sound because he was close. You were aware of that,”

“Must you be front with everything?”

“It must’ve been cool to know it all. Imagine, you can even do that to your father’s phone,”

“You think it’s cool, right?”

“Are you trying to flaunt?”

“While everyone think it’s cool, I wish I was just like every one else. I don’t want to know everything,”

“Wow. Seems like you have a sob story. Gosh, what a day,”
*
They went to a beach together, and he sat on the sand staring at the water.

“Why did you make us come here? Look at me, Stan. Unlike you, I study hard to pass each exams, and I’ already behind my study plan,”

“I really envy you,”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“I mean… you study after school, hang out with friends, fulfill your school president duties, and still managed to be get good grades,”

“If you are trying to insult me, you just succeeded!” She snapped and wanted to get up but he held her back.

“I actually meant it. I know it comes easy for me to solve those maths problems, but you study so hard and still managed to get those grades, I think you are cool,”

“Goodness, you must have lost it. If this is your way to manipulate me into letting you in the math club, keep dreaming!” She blurted, a she chuckled.

“I’m feeling better now, thank you,”

“Goodness! I blame myself for caring,”

“Do you still have feelings for Mike?”

“What nonsense!”

“Come on, the whole school knew you liked him,”

“That was a passing crush,”

“But you hated Ava when they started dating,”

“That’s past now. Why are you even asking me this?”

“I want to know if you are this way because you still have feelings for Mike,”

“¥uck! Who cares about him?”

“So, can I court you?”

“Did I heard that correctly?”

“Thanks for today, I’ll try my luck again with the math club,” with that, he ran off.

“What’s that?” She grumbled, and scoffed before leaving.

MR. PACKARD’S MANSION^^^
^
Mr. Packard shot three men foot sending them to the ground, groaning in pain.

“Just one man, and you all failed. Yet, you’ve the audacity to return,”

“Forgive us, sir,”

“Grey, look for him. I don’t care if you have to search the entire city, but you must find him. I’m sure he must be at a hospital,”

“Yes, sir,” Grey said.

“Sir, miss Ava is here,”someone notified him.
*
He went to his living room and met Ava there.

“Grandpa, I shouldn’t have let you handle anything!” She snapped, and he forced a smile.

“My dear, I’m having a bad day, so don’t provoke me,”

“I’m also having a bad day because of you. What will I do if Mike expose it himself? That’s the only weapon I’ve against him!” She lashed.

“If you aren’t careful, they will dig out a lot of things about us, and they will have several weapons against you,”

“What are you talking about?”

“Ava, I don’t want tiy to have any flaws, you are my precious granddaughter and I want everything to work for you,”

“Then you should do just that. Mike threaten to break off the engagement, and you aren’t doing anything about that freeloader either!”

“Ava, we are in no position to mess with anyone,”

“Is this about mum election? I don’t care about that!”

“Shut up!” He snapped, and she flinched.

“Grandpa…”

“Listen to me, Ava. Don’t do anything, you’re in no position to make any mistakes, don’t do anything, Ava. Else, it would all crumble on you,” he said, confusing her.

“What are you talking about, grandpa?”

“Sir, we have a problem,” one of Mr. Packard’s men said running in.

“What is it?”

“This was recently published few minutes ago, it has reached the opposing party, and they are making good use of it,” he said, and Mr. Packard collected his phone — an article about the car accident that Leo and Ms. Grace where involved in years ago.

“It won’t be easy to bring this down because of our opponents,” he muttered, and his phone rang — a call from Grace.

📲*Father, what do I do?* she cried from the other end of the call.
📞*Get it together! Prepare for a press conference, I’ll join you,” with that he dropped this call.

“Addressing this now will makes it useless,” he muttered, with clenched fist.

“Grandpa, what’s going to happen now?”

“You see why we mustn’t act rashly. Leave it all to me, Ava, grandpa will handle it one after the other before the worst happens,”

“The worst?” She muttered, and he patted her back.

“I’ve a press conference to prepare for,” with that, he left.
