After Leo left prison years ago, he saw the news about Grace and how she is living happily with her family. Thinking it through, they were never in a relationship, he was a club escort that she grew fond of to satisfy her. When Grace got involved in a car accident while drunk driving, they pinned the blame on him and sent him to prison without trail—but he couldn’t comprehend their intentions, until he came out to hear the new of her marriage, and it collide with the time he went to prison. He thought about it all, and wondered why she had to send him to prison in order to get married when she could just cut ties with him.

“She is living happily with her husband, she even has a daughter now. But must she make me miserable to achieve that?” He thought, and his eyes widened in realization. “If wants to desperately get rid of me for no good reason, then there must be a secret behind it,” he thought, and did a thorough search on Grace’s family. “Her daughter, why does her daughter’s age and birthday collide with my calculations?” He pounded, and remembered seeing a pregnancy test kit in her car the last time they met. “She didn’t have a boyfriend then, could…” he gasped at the thought, and decide to find out—that could only be possible if he could access the house.

All his attempt of entering the house prove abortive, until Ava’s 8th birthday. He applied for a part-time job, and was able to access the party, disguised as her favorite cartoon character, Daisy Duck

Ava enjoyed his company a lot during the party, and he managed to lure her to a quiet place, and removed his costume (the head).

“Hun! What are you?” She gasped.

“Hi, Ava, we can still play together this way,” he said playing with her hair.

“Let me go!” She snapped.

“Ava, where are you?” She heard her Paul called out.

“Daddy!” She called, and ran to his direction, then Leo quickly wore back his costume (the head.

“Baby, where were you?” Paul asked, carrying her.

“Daddy, he…-“ she pointed, but stopped when she saw Leo was back in his costume.

“Oh, you were having fun with Daisy Duck,”

“He is not Daisy Duck!” She yelled.

“Honey, Ava, there you are. Father arrived with the governor, we should go welcome them,” Grace said approaching them.

“Let’s go, baby,” Paul said, and Ava didn’t stop goring at Leo till they left.

“What a happy family,” Leo thought, staring at their retreating back, and looked at the strand of her hair that he pulled.

He ran a parental test, which confirmed that Ava was his daughter, but he didn’t know how to use what he secured. All attempt of having a conversation with Grace proves abortive, so he started stalking Ava until she grew up, and caught him eventually.

Leo cleared his throat and looked at Ava who was obviously speechless, so he decide to bail her out.

He stood up, and went to guide Lia and Alicia from being close to her.

“Hey! What do you think you are doing?” Lia snapped, and Ava looked at him wondering what he was up to.

“Madam, are you safe with them?” Leo asked, and Alicia gasped.

“Safe? Who are you? Are you some lunatlc or bodyguard? Do you know who we are?” Alicia blurted, and Ava chuckled.

“Bodyguard…” she muttered.

“Ava, who is this lunatlc?” Lia blurted.

“Bodyguard,” Ava muttered.

“What did you say?” Alicia asked, and Ava composed herself.

“He is my bodyguard. Hey, you can wait for me outside, they are my friends,” she said, and Leo bowed slightly before leaving.

Ava chuckled softly, and slip from her cup of coffee, still amused with the way Leo solved the problem.

“When did you get a bodyguard?” Alicia asked.

“Why are you having coffee with your bodyguards? I thought you don’t associate with peasants? Don’t tell us you are being humble to him,” Lia said, obviously disgusted.

“It’s not bad to be generous to your underlining, but it seem weird with you,”

“My mother hired him to closely monitor me because of her election, so I’m just trying to buy him to my side,” Ava said, and their eyes widened.

“I knew it! There must be a resins for you to be suddenly generous to a peasant,” Lia said, and Ava chuckled.

“But that man kinda look familiar,” Alicia muttered.

“In what way? He has an uncommon face,” Lia said.

“Have he been your bodyguard for a long time?” Alicia asked.

“Am I supposed to keep a record of that?” Ava blurted, and Lia gave Alicia a warning look.

“Who cares about a bodyguard?” Lia said, and scoffed.

“I’m done here!” Ava said, and left.

“What have you done?” Lia scolded Alicia.

“I really think his face looks familiar…” Alicia grumbled.

“Not that again!” Lia snapped.

Austin pulled over at a sport house where he had plans with some of his friends, he alighted from his car and saw Rae approaching him.

“Hi, Austin,” she waved.

“Who know we could meet here,”

“I knew. Derrick told me he was inviting you,”

“That big mouth,”

“But I was surprised that he only invited you,”

“Stanley had some beef with Derick, and Mike has his own business,”

“What of Steven? You left me the last time because of an emergency concerning Steven,”

“Oh, I’m sorry about that,”

“Did something really happened to him?”

“We were able to prevent it “

“So you ran out that way to rescue him from whatever…”

“You can’t understand,”

“I’m just impressed. You guys are really friends…”

“What do you think we are?”

“I don’t know. I mean… you all follow Mike around like you receive orders from him,”

“I believe everyone with that own ways, what matter is that we are all get along, and are comfortable,”

“I’m kinda envious. It made me feel like I never had true friends,”

“You can still mend that,”

“Probably…”

“Let’s start now. I’ll be your new friend,”

“Friends? Can we really be friends?”

“Do you want us to be friends with benefits? That would work too,”

“You must be nut,”

“We should really put all those behind us. We enjoyed the moment, that’s undeniable, but we have to get over it since we can’t be anything but friends,”

“Ok, we should “ she said, and received his handshake.

He placed a kiss ok her fingers, and she jabbed her hands off immediately.

“Oh, I didn’t ask. Why are you here? It’s a gathering for the boys. Are you here to cheer someone? Perhaps… me?”

“Why would I cheer for you?”

“Then is it Derick? I never knew you two have grew closer,”

“Yes, we have. Even more close than you think,” Derick said, approaching them.

“Wassup, man?” Austin greeted, and they both exchanged friendly gestures.

“Rae didn’t tell you, we are a couple now,”

“What? Couple? Did your parents arranged it?”

“That’s uncalled for. Why do they have to arrange us?”

“Really? Since when?”

“Since whenever. We will celebrate our 100 days anniversary, so you can count from then. Let’s go, babe,” Derick said, and wrapped his hand around her waist leading her away.

“100 days…” Austin thought.

“Aren’t you coming?” Derick shouted, waving at Austin.

Micheal gave Paulina a ride from school, and they stopped at the bus station.

“See you tomorrow,” she muttered, and wanted to alight from the car but he held her back. “What?” She grumbled.

“Shall we?”

“Shall we, what?”

“Our date. I still have the to-do list. We couldn’t do it the last time,”

“Do you seriously want to go on a date now? With the exam fast approaching and all…”

“Are we really dating? I feel like we have become more distant as couples than friends,”

“What do you mean?”

“You are being selfish, I feel like I’m the only one who wants to make this work,”

“Is that being selfish?”

“I don’t know. But lately… it feels like you are nice to everyone else but me,”

“I don’t know, I was being mean to you. I was just sulking

“Are you that m@d at me for ignoring your message? I told you there was an emergency,”

“I am sorry, Mike. I think I’m being thoughtless. A lot of things have been happening since we started this whole thing,”

“So, why don’t we put the stress aside and just have fun. We will get very busy when the mid semester exam starts,” he said, and she peck his lips, taking him by surprise.

“Shall we?” She asked, and he smiled.

“Should we start from here? We can board the bus together,” she said, and he kissed her.

“That peck won’t do,” he whispered in her ear, and she point at the driver.

“He is blind, I would’ve fired him if he wasn’t,”

“What? How can a blindman drive?”

“He is only blind when necessary,” he muttered, and she scoffed.
*
She dragged him to the bus station until thier bus arrived, and she grabbed his hand dragging him in.

“Where are we to seat here?” He grumbled, and she started looking for a seat.

“There, over there, there is a seat,” she said, and dragged him to the seat.

“There is just a single seat,” he said, and she sat on the seat.

“Where am I supposed to seat?” He asked.

“You will stand, like the others,” she said, and pointed at the people entering the bus.

“What? Am I supposed to stand?” He shouted,‘and everyone attention drawn on him.

👤”Who is he? He is so handsome,”
👤”Oh… I’m so envious of her,”
👤”Is he her boyfriend?”
👤Why does he look familiar?”

Few teenagers on the bus grumbled, and Michael chuckled.

“Are you excited over that?” Paulina grumbled.

“What? Are you upset? It’s not my fault that I stand out a lot,” he bragged, and she scoffed.

The bus entered a pot hole, and Mike screamed pulling the hair of the man standing in front of him.

“This is so embarrassing,” Paulina mumbled.

“That was so scary,” Micheal said, and everyone started teasing him.

👤”He is just handsome, but timid,” a girl muttered, and few people started agreeing with him.

“Mike, you should seat,” Paulina said, and stood up.

“Why will you stand for me to seat?”

“There are few bulbs on our way, are you sure you are going to be fine?”

“Come on, I was just taken off guard earlier. That doesn’t mean I am sca-…” he was saying, but he fell on the woman behind him when the bus passed a bulb.

“My goodness…” the woman screamed, and pushed him away.

“I am sorry, I’m sorry,” Paulina apologized, and started ticking her lips.
*
Mike bend down beside her, and bowed his head on her laps till they arrived at their designated bus station.

Mike wobbled on his feet behind her, and she glared at him in anger but he quickly looked away.

“Really, Mike. How can you embarrass me that much? Have you never board a bus before?” She lashed, and he shook his head. “Never?”

“Never! This is my first, and the last!” He blurted.

“Did you just raised your voice at me after embarrassing me that much? She shouted, and he shook his head.

“I’m sorry…”

“Where do we go from here? The date is ruined,” she said, and he surprised her with an embrace.

“No, we just started,” he whispered, and she smiled.
*
He called his secretary who went to pick them up and drove them to a shopping mall.

They bought few things, and changed into comfortable clothing before heading to the amusement park.

“Why do you prefer it with people around? It’s so noisy,” he complained.

“Because having people around makes it ordinary. I just want an ordinary date. Not an elites’ girlfriend date. Will you be Mikey today?”

“Gosh… I hate that name so much… but I love it when I hear it from you,” he said, and she chuckled.

“Do you want to know the truth behind that name?“

“You said it had to do with some syllables…”

“That was a half the truth,”

“Then what is the real truth?”

“The truth was… that was the name of my neighbor’s dog, I was so fond of the dog but they relocated,”

“What? So you see me as a dog?”

“I know it will upset you. You don’t even know the reason I call you that, but you hate it so much,”

“I loathe it because it sounds like a puppies name!” He snapped.

“But at least you love hearing it from me,” she teased. “Mikey, Mikey, Mikey,” she called, running off and he ran after her.
*
They had fun at the amusement park, and walked along the street holding hands, licking ice-cream.

“It’s indeed an ordinary date,” he muttered, and she smiled.

“The sun already sets out,”

“Yeah, the day is coming to an end… but I wish we would be like this forever,”

“So, shall we stop time?” She teased, and he chuckled.

“I wish we could,”

“I have an idea,”

“What? Is there some sort of magic?”

“I’ll take you to where time doesn’t exist,”

“Do such place exist?” He gasped.
*
They went to an arcade and spent all day there, before calling it a day at the field, staring at the night sky.

“I didn’t see you bodyguard around,”

“He is, he has been following us,”

“You don’t mean it. Where is he?”

“Over there,” she said, and pointed at Don who was standing far from them.

“Oh… he is really doing his job,” he grumbled.

“The sky is so beautiful, but the moon isn’t even out yet,” she whined.

“Lina, is there something you are supposed to tell me, but you are holding back?”

“What?”

“Nothing, I just feel there is something you aren’t telling me,”

“What?” She muttered, and started thinking. “Wait! Don’t tell me this is about Sage,”

“What nonsense? Is there something about him that I need to know,”

“Nothing. But you acted so indifferent today,”

“I was just trying to be get along with him because you were with him. And I don’t think he is such a bad guy,”

“I told you before, sage is a good person,”

“Accepted, but don’t ever hang out with alone. I am just trying to get along with him because so we should always be together when we you want to hang out with him. Or hang out with him in company of that talkative friend of yours,” he said, and she chuckled.

“Let’s see how it goes,”

“You can’t even promise me?”

“Mike, if it wasn’t about Sage, what do you think I was hiding from you?” She asked, and he shook his head.

“Nothing,” he muttered.

“What do you mean nothing,”

“I just wanted to ask the secret behind your beauty,”

“What? That’s uncalled for!”

“All the students are worried about the coming exam, but you are looking extravagantly beautiful effortlessly,” he said, flattering her.

“You are lnsane, Mike, totally!” She teased, and laid flat on the green grass.

He wanted to ask her why she hid her identity as a Stanford from him, but he thought against it.
“ I shouldn’t push it. There must be a reason why she is hiding it, I just have to wait for her to feel comfortable to share it,” he thought

HOLLAND HIGH^^^

Austin and Steven arrived at school, and were both walking down the hallway when they saw students gathered around.

“What’s going on? Did we missed something?” Austin wondered, and Steven gasped staring at his phone.

“Stanley’s parents are getting a divorce,” Steven said, and Austin collected the phone from him.

“Unbelievable!” He exclaimed.

“We’ve to rescue Stanley from them,” Steven said.

“Yes, we should,” Austin muttered, and they both hurried to the scene.

The students stopped upon seeing them, and they both hurried to stanley.

“He refuse to answer our questions, so do you mind answering for him?” One of the students asked, and they started throwing the questions at them.

“What’s the commotion about?!” Micheal yelled joining them.

“Mike, are you also aware of it? Is the news real?” One of the students asked.

“Who cares? It’s for the adults to handle. If you have time for these, you should go prepare for the coming exam. The education system here is a little negligence to mid semester exam, but I am working on that lately, so seat up tight; the exam might be what will guarantee your access in this school next semester, and not your parents influence!” He blurted, and they all gasped, with that, they dismissed.

“Stan, what happened?” Austin asked worriedly.

“Stan, are you ok?” Micheal muttered, and held his hand. “We should leave,” he added, and they all went to thier suite.
*
Austin started bombarding Stanley with questions, and Stanley exhaled heavily.

“I apologize that you all have to find out about my family flaws this way. The news is true, my parents are getting a divorce!”

“What? How could that be?” Austin inquired.

“My family was never the perfect family you all assumed… so they decide to call it quit,”

“Couldn’t they think about you? What will happen to you when they divorce? This is cr@zy!” Austin lashed.

“I urged my mum to get the divorce “

“What?” They all shouted.

“Have you lost it?” Austin lashed.

“Was the situation that bad?” Micheal asked, and Stanley nodded.

“Yes, it was as bad to urge my mum to get the divorce… and I announced it to the media so she won’t change her mind,” he muttered, and tears slid down his face.

His friends gasped seeing him that way. They have been friends for over a decade, but they have never seen his at his weakest.
