I woke up pretty late today without any hint of what’s happening today
I heard a loud bang on my door and I wondered who the fool is
My dad walked in looking so angry
“You wretch, have you forgotten what is happening today?”. He yelled fuming
“I really don’t have idea of what’s happening today”. I replied looking confused
“Today is your wedding dummy and I wonder who forgets his wedding date”. He snapped
“Seriously dad, are we still on this? I told you I don’t want the wedding. Can’t you just understand that or you want me to translate in spanish?”. I fired and he landed a resounding slap on my face
I looked at him and he was ready to give me another one
I walked to my closet, brought out a bag and started packing my clothes
“What do you think you’re doing?”. He asked sharply
“I’m leaving of course”. I replied not looking at him
“You dare not. The wedding starts 4 hours from now. Do yourself good and attend or you say goodbye to your driver”. He said coldly and I turned sharply
“My driver? What does this have to do with her?”. I yelled
“You think I won’t find out your affair with her? Or do you think I’m a fool that won’t suspect a thing?”. He asked laughing so hard
“Get ready for the wedding or you say a goodbye to her”. He said sternly and walked out slamming the door

I walked out of the room hurriedly, running to Goldin’s room
I entered without knocking but I couldn’t find her there
I checked the bathroom and closet but I couldn’t find her
The door opened and mum walked in
“Mum, I swear I’ll kill your husband if anything happens to her!!!!”. I yelled hitting my hand on the nearby table
“Calm down. You will hurt yourself at this rate”. She yelled trying to calm me down
She held my hands and I threw her hand off angrily
“Trace, what is wrong with you?”. She asked
“Goldin”. I replied sharply and she wondered who Goldin is
“Goldin???”. She asked and I nod parading the room
“I promise to kill your husband if anything happens to her and I’ll bear the consequence!!!”. I yelled walking out of the room
I walked to the parking lot but I couldn’t find her
I checked the kitchen and she is still not there
Ruby came into the kitchen with a tray
“Have you seen Goldin this morning?”. I asked and she shook her head
“No sir”. She replied walking to the cabinet
I walked out and entered my so called dad’s room and he flinched
“It’s a thing you could have knocked”. He snapped not looking at me
“Where is she?”. I asked and he gave me a puzzled look
“Who?”. He asked
“Don’t mess with me old man. Where the hell is she?”. I yelled walking towards him
“I can see you’re love struck. How can you accuse me of kidnap. You are….”
The rest of his words stuck into his mouth as a slap landed on his face
I turned and saw mum shooting daggers at him
“So it has gotten to this? So you suddenly turned to a kidnapper all because of money”. She yelled grabbing his collar
“Stay out of his woman”. He yelled pushing her off him
“How dare you handle her that way?”. I asked grabbing his collar roughly
“I give you just 1 hour and if she is no where to be found, I’ll personally kill you and face the consequence”. I spat and stormed out of his room

What kind of family is this?
Goldin, wherever you’re just hold on I’ll get you
Tracy, you’re a witness to what that man has been doing
If I kill him, don’t cry to much because his days on earth are numbered

I sat up ignoring the pain I’m feeling all over my body
I checked the door expecting it to open but it didn’t
Is he that angry?
It’s been two days now and he hasn’t visited
I guess he is a jerk after all
He kept me in this position and yet he hasn’t showed up for the past two days
I guess I’m just so useless like my aunt do say
Nothing good can ever come my way
Bad luck is for me and nothing else
But is it really my fault?
Is it my fault my family died?
I’m from a very loving and happy family until death decided to steal them away from me
I came back from school and met both parents around including my elder brother and kid sister
We had a family lunch and trust me it was the best lunch ever not knowing that’s the last time I’ll set my eyes on them
I left for my friends house after taking permission
I got there and we both started studying because that’s was my aim for leaving the house not knowing what I’ll return home to meet
I was in my final year in college then
We both finished reading after 3 hours and I suddenly felt like going home
She escorted me to her gate and I boarded a cab home
We are not rich but we are comfortable and not complaining
I got home and I was welcomed with our building burnt down to ashes
I walked into the opened gate and met people wailing
I walked hurriedly not wanting to believe what my mind is telling me
A lady walked up to me and broke the news to me
She told me my families were inside when the fire occurred but it seems they weren’t aware and the next thing that followed was explosion which brought down the building instantly
I screamed, yelled and wailed trying so hard to control myself
They tried consoling me but all to no avail
I wept bitterly hoping they come back but I never knew I was deceiving myself and that was where my education ended
