CHAPTER 52
AVERY
I woke up with the sun shining on my face.
I sleepily checked my side hoping to see Mason beside me but the side was empty.
My eyes quickly flew open.
He wasn’t here, I walked to the bathroom hoping to see him but he was not there.
I grabbed my phone and dialed his number but his number was unreachable.
Maybe he’s sleeping, I smiled as I went to the bathroom to take my bath.
Last night memories came clouding in my mind and I couldn’t help but smile as the shower poured down my skin.
I wrapped my towel around my body as I went to my wardrobe to look for a dress to wear.
I decided to try something new today.
I wore a fitted crazy blue jean with a white crop top.
I dried my hair as I packed it in a high ponytail.
I put on a white snicker .
I was so eager to see Mason today that I didn’t even notice that Hannah wasn’t In the room.
I walked to the lamb to grab my phone but I stopped when I saw a piece of paper there.
Maybe it’s from Mason.
I sat back on my bed and opened the paper with a big smile on my face.
But the smile was swept off after I finished it.
The paper fell from my hand as my hand was already shaking.
“This is a joke right”
I tried to think positively that it wasn’t happening but I had so much doubt.
“Avery take a deep breath maybe he’s just in this room”
“This is a prank”
I tried to think positive but I had a feeling that it was real.
Mason will never joke with something like this.
I grabbed the paper and ran out of the building.
I walked straight to the A4 resident.
I didn’t even bother to knock as I just walked in.
I see everyone seated in the sitting room with Hannah.
“Hey Avery how…”
I cut Westley off “where’s mason?”
“I thought he was with you”
My heart was beating fast now hoping it’s not what I’m thinking.
“He was but when I woke up he wasn’t there again”
“Please do you guys know where he is”
But there was silence and I knew something was up.
“What the hell is going on”
“She deserves to know,” Oliver said.
And I saw Westley had a guilt on his face.
“Avery please sit down”
“No I’m not I just want to know when he’s coming.” I was already losing my patients.
“He’s not coming back, ” Westley said, looking sad and guilty as he said.
I took a step back , this can’t be happening.
“What are you saying Westley Mason can’t leave me without telling me”.
“I just confessed my feelings to him yesterday and he said he loves me”
Then the next thing Westley said made me collapse on the floor.
“He really loves you but he’s getting engaged to Ariana”.
“What!!!”
My knees felt weak and I fell on the floor.
Hannah quickly rushed to me as she tried to get me up but I didn’t make any effort to stand up.
Before I knew it I started to cry.
“He can’t just leave me, he made a promise not to leave me last night”
“Westley please tell me your joking”
But he kept quiet.
“Oliver”
But got no reply.
“Roy”
He only looked at me with a sad face and then it hit me.
He really left me for Arianna.
I pulled away from Hannah as I held her on her shoulder.
“Hannah please tell me this is a prank, he didn’t leave right”
I said as tears started to fall from my eyes.
Hannah looked at me with a sad face,but all she did was cry with me.
“Hannah tell Westley to stop joking. Mason didn’t leave right. I just confessed my feelings to him last night.”
“He promised never to leave me”
“He said he loves me and only me, so tell me that Westley is lying”
“Avery he’s gone”
“You’re lying right”
I looked at Westley, Roy and Oliver and Westley was already sobbing as he stared at me.
Roy was trying to hold himself, Oliver couldn’t even look me in the eyes.
“Westley please tell me you’re joking, please say something”
But he just sobbed more.
I stood up as I grabbed my phone and dialed Mason’s number.
I continued dialing his number but it still gave me the same reply. His number was unreachable.
I kept on calling it as I started to cry.
I didn’t even care about the eyes that were watching me right now because I just wanted to see Mason.
“Avery stop”
Hannah said as she cried harder but I didn’t reply as I continued to dial it.
Roy was the one that walked up to me and took my phone away from me.
“Give that back”I screamed.
“He isn’t going to pick it”
“Who are you tell me that , give me my Fuçking phone. I need to call him”
But Roy pulled me into a hug, I started to hit his chest trying to get away from him.
But he held me tighter,I later gave up as I started to cry more.
“He promised Roy he Fuçking did last night that he’ll never leave me alone”.
“Was all that a lie, did he even ever love me”.
“It’s okay Avery “.
I pulled away as I looked at Roy who already had tears in his eyes. But he was trying not to let them fall.
“It’s not okay Roy, this is the first time I’ve loved someone so dearly”.
“I poured my emotion to Mason, I poured everything out to him and only for me to wake up excited to see him.”.
“Then only for me to see a letter he wrote telling me ….. telling me…..”
I started to hiccup on my own tears.
I just brought out the paper and gave it to Roy.
The tears that he was holding fell down as he read it.
Westley and Oliver came to meet me and they read what was written inside it.
Hannah also came and read it.
“And now you’re telling me that he’s getting married to Ariana”
“How do you want me to feel?”.
Hannah hugged me as I cried my eyes out.
“It hurts Hannah “.
I pulled away from her hug as I touched my chest.
“It hurts here” I pointed at the left side of my chest at my diaphragm
“It Fuçking hurt , the pain Is too much Hannah I can’t bear it”
“Is this what it means to be heart broken when you’re in love”
“Does love really hurt”.
“Please Westley, Roy and Oliver , try calling him. He’ll pick your calls since you guys are the closest to him.”
“And you guys mean everything to him while I thought I did mean something to him ”
“Avery ”
I just wanted to be alone so I ran upstairs to Mason room as I locked myself in it.
I heard my name being called but I didn’t answer.
I climbed the bed as I inhaled the Mason scent.
The memories of the both of us watching anime together clouded my head.
I wrapped myself in a ball as I cried the more.
