CHAPTER 61☆62
♡´･ᴗ･`♡SHOCKED…♡´･ᴗ･`♡
Jerome gently closed the door after him as he walked into Desiree’s room to check on her.
He actually does this like three to four times every night before it’s dawn, making sure his daughter is alright and sleeping soundly. Except on days Desiree sleeps in his room, or he sleeps in hers.
Janella is far gone in her sleep already, and of course she’s still in his room, with the big blanket covering her body, which Jerome did help cover her up before leaving the room.
Jerome exhausted her to her last energy that she fell asleep immediately he….
Anyway, little Dee could be seen sleeping peacefully, hugging her cozy pink teddy bear to herself.
Jerome immediately chuckled, seeing her scattered hair that has spread all over her face. Shaking his head at the blanket that has left her body again, now covering just the lower part of her legs.
Anyw, he covered her body well, picked up the AC remote and reduced the temperature since her room was becoming too cold.
After that, he sat down on the little girsl’s bed gently, laying on his back later on as he got himself thinking.
That flash of image that appeared in his head when he said “I love you” and was about kissing Janella’s neck. What was that about? And that image….who was that?
Why….why does he feel like something similar to that has happened before?
It doesn’t feel right at all!
Wait! That image….does it mean he’s starting to regain his memory? What?!!
°°°JEROME’S ROOM °°° NEXT DAY MORNING ～☆
“You’ve got bruises on your back, Jerome. Your back is pretty red” Janella said, getting out of the bed in pains to go meet him where he stood.
He just finished bathing seconds ago, and came back to the room, creaming his body by the mirror stan.
Janella woke up moments after he went in to bath though.
“Yeah. I felt my back peppering me when I woke up to go check on Desiree last night. They kind of hurt though, but I’m fine” Jerome smiled, turning to face her. He then kissed her forehead, running his fingers on her face, playfully. “How are you, Starshine?” He asked.
“I’m okay. Are you sure you’re fine?” Janella asked, worried about him even though he’s the cause of those bruises she gave him on his back.
“I am fine, Ella. This is my punishment anyway” He smirked, and they both laughed out shortly.
“Desiree must still be sleeping because she would be here by now if she was awake” Jerome said, drifting his gaze to the door.
Because normally, every time she wakes up from sleep, whether in the morning or afternoon, she comes to her dad’s room straightaway to look for him.
It’s actually Saturday today, so no school for her, which means she can wake up at anytime.
“She was really tired yesterday from all those games we played. You needed to see that tiredness when I went to put her to sleep” Janella replied, taking a deep breath.
Anyway, they were still talking when they heard “Daddy”…..
Janella quickly ran back to the bed and pretended to be sleeping, the moment she heard Desiree’s voice.
“Baby girl!” Jerome called, immediately going to her. He squatted to her level and held her chin tenderly.
“How are you, dear?” He asked, but Desiree hugged him instead.
Jerome could only smile, carrying her up, and left with her to the bed where Janella definitely is.
“Did you dream about daddy?” Jerome asked and she nodded immediately, smiling broadly.
“Yes, daddy and we played more sleep over games” Desiree replied, naughtily turning to look at Janella who was still busy pretending to sleep and deceiving herself.
Seeing that, Jerome began to chuckle as he could already tell that this girl….
Desiree slipped out of Jerome’s arms and stood up on the bed. Before Jerome knew what was happening, Desiree began to jump on the bed like it was a trampoline.
“Get up….get up….Miss Ella, I know you’re not sleeping!” Desiree said and kept jumping.
Jerome cackled out loud before he could stop himself from doing so.
“Busted” He laughed at Janella who has just been caught.
Desiree literally saw Janella when she rushed out of where she was standing with her dad.
Janella immediately began to giggle as she saw no need to pretend again.
“Hey, Dee…!” She slowly called, taking the blanket off her body.
“Good morning, Miss Ella. You tricked me!” Desiree pouted with a little cute frown.
Knowing what she was talking about, Janella quickly hugged her.
“I’m sorry, little Dee. Don’t worry, we’ll have another sleepover soon, and I’ll be in your room throughout, I promise” Janella told her, and she nodded immediately, smiling.
How understanding. Gawd! This girl!
“Baby girl, you are going to grandmom’s place to stay there for a while till I come back, okay? Daddy has somewhere to go….”
“Yah….grandmom!!” Desiree ecstatically exclaimed.
How much she loves to go to her grandmom’s.
“Wow! That was easier than I thought” Jerome mumbled to himself.
“Right! Let’s go bath you, alright?” Janella said to Dee who quickly got out of the bed and followed her.
“I’ll ask the maid to make a hot cup of tea for you” Jerome said to Janella before they went out completely. She nodded though.
°°° AT THE HOSPITAL ～☆
Janella held Jerome’s left hand into hers, tightly as they both arrived the hospital and got out of the car.
“JJ, are you alright?” She asked him, staring at his face, concerned.
Jerome inhaled deeply, exhaling afterwards, staring back at Janella with a smile.
“I’m fine, Baby. Let’s go” He replied simply.
They are actually here to see the doctor at the hospital they brought Desiree the day she had those allergies.
Jerome said they should come here instead, since he feels the doctor here is a trustworthy person. For that DNA thing he did, Jerome trusts him a little bit, even though he actually doesn’t trust anyone anymore as it is now.
He’s kind of scared right now, really really scared that those toxic drugs must have done some damages to his vital organs already.
So he’s really not himself at the moment, but since he has Janella by his side, he feels a little bit comfortable.
They are here so the doctor could run some test on him, confirm that he truly doesn’t have Cancer. Do a thorough checkup, then let them know how those drugs can be taken out of his system.
“You’ll be fine, JJ, trust me. I believe so, okay?” Janella said, making him to smile again.
Jerome brushed her hair to the back, then kissed it afterwards before they both went in together.

SECRETARY’S OFFICE ～☆
“Is the boss not coming to work toda?” Jerome’s admirer, walked into the secretary’s office, asking after Jerome.
She is the same lady who went to Jerome’s office to drop some files there, but ended up trying to seduce Jerome instead.
Her name is actually Dorothy, and she’s the same person who dropped chocolates and a note for Jerome the other day, which he literally knew she was the one.
She’s somehow friends with the secretary, and it’s the secretary who helped her in securing a job here in Jerome’s company.
“And why are you asking if he is coming or not? Wait, what is your business with him coming to work or not?” The secretary asked after she had ignored her severely.
“Geez! Chill! I only asked a question, and not a fight” Dorothy replied and the secretary just hissed.
“I really like him, but I don’t know why it’s so hard to get him to….
The secretary laughed out, not letting her finish her sentence.
“I have told you severely that boss is not your type. He is not your class, but you do not want to listen because money and lust have blinded your eyes so much that you do not want to open them, see properly and give yourself some sense”
“I don’t remember helping you secure this job because you wanted to come here and make the boss fall in love with you, Dorothy. No, I don’t. I don’t know why you’re so bent on getting him to succvmb to your stupidity” The secretary paused and laughed again.
“So, you think buying him chocolates and….and all that Sh|t you do is actually gonna work? Does he look desperate to you? Like, does he look like someone who women reject and so, he’s desperately looking for a woman?”
“I’ve told you before, focus on your job and leave that guy alone. Wait, was this why you were begging me so much to help you get a job where I am working?” The secretary kept talking and talking, but Dorothy wasn’t even listening to anything she was saying. It was as if she wasn’t the one the secretary lady was talking to.
“You are always so harsh, acting like a saint and all that. What makes you think I am not good enough to be his woman, huh? All the ladies he’s been sleeping….
Ann, the secretary lady quickly covered her mouth, stopping her from saying any more of that Sh|t she just spewed out.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Have you totally lost it? How can you say such about our boss?”…..
“Wasn’t that what you told me? Didn’t you tell me he’s a flirt and loves women?”….
“I swear, Dorothy! I will kïll you if you make me lose my job, have sense and give yourself some respect and value! Have sense!”
“I am warning you! Stop this stupid obsession of yours with the boss, just stop it!” Ann yelled lowly, checking if there was anyone around listening to their conversation.
Anyway, Dorothy hissed and rolled eyes at her instead.
°°° AN HOUR LATER °°° DOCTOR DEREK’S OFFICE ～☆
It’s been an hour now since Janella and Jerome came, and they are still on it.
The doctor has ran numerous tests on him already, and has been in his lab analyzing them while the duo just sat still, waiting for him to get back to them.
Though, they aren’t the only ones whose problems he’s attending to. He’s been going in and out because of emergencies and that’s what is taking much of the time.
Janella who looks a bit tired already can be seen slightly resting her head on Jerome’s shoulder while they waited.
“Oh, he’s here” Janella said, the moment the doctor walked back in.
Doctor Derek sighed out, tiredly, taking off his stethoscope and dropping it on his desk, before facing them.
“Mr. Jerome, I would like to ask you a very good and important question first, before proceeding” Doctor Derek said, calmly.
‘”Okay doctor, go ahead please” Jerome replied immediately, turning to look at Janella afterwards.
“Why have you been taking drugs meant for Cancer patients? You’ve been taking different kinds of toxic drugs that aren’t meant for your body because your body doesn’t need them. Why are you doing that to your body?” He asked, and Jerome instantly went quiet as well….that wasn’t what he thought the doctor was going to say.
Now his temperature has risen, after hearing that question he just asked.
Janella looked at him immediately and instantly knew what his heart was battling with right then.
She knew he was feeling hurt again, and she also was starting to get scared.
With the way the doctor was asking those questions, she was scared that the drugs must have done some damages to his body already.
“It’s a long story, doctor. Jerome would never intentionally do anything that will harm his health. It’s a very long story” Janella answered the question instead as Jerome himself still couldn’t reply the doctor.
Hearing Janella’s words and seeing the way Jerome’s mood changed the moment he asked him those questions, Doctor Derek could sense that something was not okay at all.
Come to think of it, those DNA test results someone tampered with….what is really going on?
“I’m sorry if I sounded a bit….”
“No, it’s fine, doctor. Just tell us what the results said, please” Janella said, a little bit in panic because the doctor, and even Jerome could hear it from her voice.
Jerome immediately held her both hands and put them into his, rubbing them softly while they waited for the doctor to speak.
“Well” The doctor cleared his throat. “He doesn’t have any Cancer, but we need to conduct a surgery on him to get all those hàrmful drugs out of his body as soon as possible before it’s too late” The doctor said, and Janella nodded immediately, waiting for what he’d say next.
“Mr. Jerome” He then drifted his eyes to Jerome who immediately looked at him. “You’re a very lucky man, I must tell you this. I don’t know how this happened, but so far from the results, the drugs have done no harm yet to any of your organs” Doctor Derek said and Jerome’s spirit lightened up instantly. His sober face was replaced with a happy one immediately on hearing that.
“What?!” The both of them unbelievably exclaimed at a time, turning to look at each other with great joy.
“Yeah. That’s really a miracle, Mr. Jerome. But please, we need to carry out the surgery before those drugs….they’ll kíll you if we don’t take them out quick enough” The doctor told them. Jerome’s heart thudded so fast, but was happy anyway.
“I will prescribe drugs for your condition” Doctor Derek then said, referring to his erectile dysfunction. “I’ll also fix a date for your surgery as well, and let you know” He added.
Jerome and Janella nodded happily, and after a little more talk, they left his office.
Getting out, Jerome was surprised at who he saw.
“Mrs. Angela?” He called when he saw Nurse Angela coming of out a ward.
“Oh, hi Mr. Jerome.” She smiled immediately, but when her gaze met Janella’s, her heart raced again like the other time.
And Janella instantly remembered the other day they met, and the way she acted.
“You’re a Nurse? Whoa! Had no idea” Jerome chuckled and Nurse Angela smiled again with a “yes”.
She then said “hi” to Janella who hesitantly returned the pleasantry because she felt something was odd with this nurse, with the way she was acting again.
They talked for a little while before Jerome and Janella took thier leave, while Nurse Angela remained on that spot, staring at Janella.
“There’s something I need to tell you….” She said inaudibly.

“Do you know her?” Janella asked as they both sat in the car.
“Yeah, she’s a very nice lady. Never knew she was a nurse” Was all that Jerome said and….Janella felt a little jealous as she thought that Jerome was starting to compliment her too much already.
If not that she heard him call her “Mrs” she would have thought that Nurse Angela might be crushing on the king of her heart.
Anyway, she didn’t take that too serious.
“Oh” Janella mouthed.
“Are you okay? You didn’t seem too cool with her back there. Do you know her also?” Jerome asked, a little bit worried.
“Not exactly, JJ. It’s just that….She acted somehow when she saw me the day we brought Desiree here and I stepped out to go ease myself….” Janella told Jerome everything and he frowned.
“That’s weird” He said.
“I know, right? Let’s go please, we have a long day” Janella smiled, rubbing his beardless chin, making Jerome to smile.
“Do you still feel pain?” Jerome then asked.
“Yeah, but not so much” Janella replied.
“I’m sorry I was so hard on you, I swear, didn’t mean….”
“It’s fine, JJ, I totally understand why you were rough, okay? Don’t worry, I am fine” Janella giggled as she stared at his guilty face.
It was difficult, and it took him so long to release that yesterday night, which made him feel like dyîng.
When he finally did, he was in a different world of his own that he alone understood the things happening there.
And even though he was rough, Janella still enjoyed the steamy moment with him. She kind of likes his roughness as a matter of fact. Lol.
“I love you” Was all he could say, smiling.
“I love you too, Jerome. Now can you repair the face and let us go?” Janella chuckled.
“Sure, baby. But can you warm my lips up for me, they are catching cold” Jerome smirked. pouting like Desiree.
Janella chuckled and kissed him immediately.
“Oh, gawd! Now you’ve revived my soul” Jerome said, licking his lips, making the both of them to laugh.
“Can we go no, pervert?” Janella scoffed, but was chuckling as he too laughed at what she called him.
“Sure, baby. But we have to stop at the pharmacy to get pain relief drugs for you, hmm?” Jerome said, before he started the car engine. Janella nodded with a smile, and Jerome hit the road afterwards.
°°° BIG MOMMA’S HOME °°° AFTERNOON～☆
Janella and Abbey were talking when Lenora and Alexa walked in.
“Oh my! Is this….is this not your sister you’ve been showing us her pictures and talking about?” Lenora unbelievably said with a little wide eyes, at the same time, extremely happy.
Alexa wasn’t left out.
They had been waiting for that day they would finally meet this same Abbey.
Abbey was very happy, hearing what Lenora said about Janella talking about her.
Whoa! So Janella still loved her that much, but only pretending to still be mâd at her?
“Wow! It’s so nice to finally meet you, Abbey. Your sister has told us so much about you” Alexa said, going straight to Janella’s bed to sit down.
“It’s nice to meet you guys too” Abbey blushed hard, smiling seriously.
Meanwhile, Janella slápped her forehead after being casted like that.
Between these two and Big Momma, who is even better at keeping secrets?
Janella actually had to come home because Lenora said she was coming. That she bàdly needs to talk to her.
She and Jerome still aren’t done with their day’s activity yet, but she had to come because of Lenora.
She really hasn’t been spending time with her friends like before, and she’s feeling bád for it.
Anyway, she is happy to see them here right now. She didn’t know how much she had missed them until now.
“Abbey, can you please get them….”
“Sure, sis” Abbey cut in as she already knew what Janella wants her to do.
“Thank you, sis” Janella smiled, proudly at her before Abbey then left.
“I think it’s time we sue Jerome for taking you away from us, geez!” Alexa said and Janella could only smile with a sigh.
She only wished they’d understand the situation.
And she can’t tell them about it, at least not now. Even Big Momma doesn’t know yet.
However, Lenora was quietly lying on the bed, her face up as she stared at the ceiling, blankly.
When Janella noticed that, she immediately turned her attention to her.
“What’s the problem, Nora?” Janella asked, looking at Alexa who also didn’t know what Nora’s problem was because Lenora didn’t tell her just yet.
“We are leaving the country, babes” Lenora finally spoke and….”What?!!” Janella and Alexa exclaimed, totally knocked out.
Is she kidding them right now or what?
“What are you saying, Nora? How…..why are you leaving? This has to be a big joke, right?” Janella said, she got up immediately from where she was sitting so she could sit close enough to her.
“What’s going on, Nora? Is everything alright at home?” Janella began to get worried, likewise Alexa who didn’t look happy at all with what she just heard.
“I don’t know what is going on, babes. I’m just as confused as you both are. My dad….”
Lenora explained everything to them and they frowned in more confusion.
“That’s very weird. Why would he want you guys to leave the country with such short notice and no valid reason?” Alexa asked.
“See? He doesn’t want to say anything! He just keeps saying he’ll explain, but we have to leave as soon as possible”
“Sh|t! So what are you going to do now? Are you really going to leave tomorrow?” Janella asked.
“I don’t know…..” Lenora replied, frustratedly. “I feel like I’ll be making a big mistake if I don’t leave. He’s scaring me the hell out with the way he’s saying it” Lenora replied.
“Oh, Lord! What’s all this? This is so d@mn crazy and frustrating!” Janella roughened her hair crazily.
°°° AT VERY BIG BUILDING °°° LATER IN THE DAY
Janella immediately furrowed when Jerome parked his car and they both got out. She already knew where they were.
Anyway, she knew the people that were living here no longer live in the place, so there was nothing to worry about. She just gave Jerome her hand since he requested to hold it.
“Is this where that your doctor lives?” She asked and Jerome modded immediately.
Before they went in fully, they asked the gatekeepers about Doctor Mark, but the reply wasn’t what Jerome expected.
“They parked out of here into their own personal home like three months ago” One of them said.
“Sh|t! What?! Do you know where his home is?” Jerome asked calmly, even though he wasn’t calm at all.
This can’t be happening!
“I’m sorry, Sir, but neither of us know where their new home is” Another one answered.
Hearing that, Jerome roughened his hair mádly.
“Be calm, JJ, please. Just stay calm” Janella rubbed his palm, soothingly.
“Thank you so much” She then said to the guards as she and Jerome left there immediately.
They got back in the car, with Jerome sitting and resting his head on the car seat, already thinking again.
“I’m so sorry, Jerome, but we are not giving up because of this, okay?” Janella told him. He didn’t reply her though, but she knew he listened.
“Babes?” She suddenly called, and Jerome turned and looked at her. “Do you….mind showing me this doctor? It wouldn’t solve anything, but can you show me his photo?” Janella asked, not so sure if what she just asked made any sense.
Jerome didn’t hesitate to unlock his phone anyway.
He went straight online on Twitter, went to Doctor Mark’s account and opened his photos, handing over his phone to Janella.
The moment Janella saw the person who happens to be Jerome’s doctor, her throat dried up immediately. She couldn’t believe her eyes!
“What?! ” She exclaimed and Jerome on noticing that, he was back to his normal self immediately.
“Janella! What is it?” Jerome asked worriedly.
“That’s…. This is Lenora’s Dad, Jerome….”
“The heck! What?!!!”….. Jerome exclaimed with wide eyes.
