CHAPTER 47⚔️48
Charles stared darkly at Evelyn.He had felt suspicious of her but he decided to wave it off because of how much he loved her but after the incident that happened a week ago he concluded that she wasn’t just a bodyguard and a identity had a shady secret
He looked into it personally and he found out that she was a member of the angelic demon and her mission was to kill him.Regardless,he kept quiet hoping that she might open up to him and tell him everything but she didnt
He suspected that her insisting on going to the car alone was with a hidden mission so he tailed her.Right before his eyes,she declared that she was the angel of death and took down 10 able-bodied men without getting a single scratch
He could recall the looks on the men’s faces when she revealed her identity and he wondered how dangerous she could be.He fell for a very dangerous person and the worst of it was that she was sent to kill him.
Evelyn stood speechless and rooted to a spot as she stared at Charles.She didn’t know what he thought of her.
“I can explain Charles”Evelyn began as tears flowed down her face and Charles’s eyes narrowed as he frowned his face.
“Let’s go home”said Charles as he turned and walked towards the car while Evelyn followed.
They got into the car and drove home.Throughout the journey home,Charles’eyes was fixed in the wheel while Evelyn looked out of the window glancing at Charles at little time interval.She wondered what was going on in that head of his.
They got home and Charles got out of the car and headed upstairs without waiting for Evelyn.Evelyn ran after him and chased him all the way to his room.
Charles sat on his bed and Evelyn stood before him fiddling with her fingers.
“Charles”she called out and he looked at her.His face was void of any emotion.
“I want to be alone,Eve.We can talk about all of these later but for now leave.”said Charles and Evelyn sighed.
She had to give him sometime alone.The truth he found out must be too hard for him to handle yet he was keeping cool with her so she shouldn’t misuse her chances.
She left his room and headed straight for Martins’s room. She needed comfort and he was the only friend she had.
She got to his room and barged in without knocking.Her eyes widened as she saw Martins shirtless.
Martins raised his head up and looked at her while she looked away.
“I will give you sometime to dress up”said Evelyn as she tried to leave.
“No,you can come in.It’s nothing”said Martin’s and Evelyn shrugged as she sat opposite him.
She was about to start talking when her eyes caught a tattoo on his chest.It was a drawing of a Scorpion and only the members of the “Viper gang” had it in their body.
She couldn’t believe that Martin’s was also a member of an assassin gang and since he was also around Charles he must be after his life.
“What is wrong?”Martin’s asked as he watched Evelyn stare at him.He followed her gaze and it meant with the tattoo on his chest.He quickly covered it up but it was of no use
“You are a member of the Viper gang”Evelyn replied slowly and Martin narrowed his eyes.She knew the meaning and that only meant one thing
“Are you a gang member?Do you have the same mission as I do?”asked Martins and Evelyn Chuckled
“You will be surprised if you find out who I am but for sure I don’t have the same mission as you.”replied Evelyn and Martins laughed
“Who the hell are you?”Martins asked again this time he was more fierce than the first time
“Since you are so curious I will give you an hint. I am the only citizen in the country that doesn’t need a license to kill.I am the one who visits someone and death follows.I am the one whose laughter gives a free passage to hell and tears gives a torment ful passage to heaven.”said Evelyn and Martins stood up while she did the same
They faced each other and Martins observed her closely.She couldn’t be the killing angel.She was too innocent and fragile to be the killing angel so she is probably from a small and nameless gang
“Your thinking is right so don’t fight it.I am the ANGEL OF DEATH but this time am not on a mission to kill. Am on a mission to protect so stay away from Charles”said Evelyn with a dangerous look on and Martins sighed as he moved back
“Do you think I am the only one around Charles who is aiming for his life.If you stop me,will you be able to stop the rest?”asked Martins and Evelyn sighed thoughtfully
That was the bitter truth,she didn’t know how many gang members that were around Charles so protecting him from them would be hard
“You should care about yourself and back off.I will take care of the rest but it will be a pity for you to get killed even after my warning.Stay off”she warned Martins sternly and left his room
Martins ruffled his hair and sat in the couch.He couldn’t believe he had been friends with the killing angel all along.He knew better than messing with her.
