•Erica’s Home•
“Gosh…” She yawned immediately she got home as she was so weak.
She kept her food on the table and was about to head to the toilet to urinate but was shocked when she discovered that the room Ivar was sleeping in was opened widely.
She immediately rushed in, Ivar was not on the bed where she left him.
“Ivar!!” She called in fea.r knowing so well that something must have happened to him.
“Ivar where are you?” she called out again with a louder voice and still yet, Ivar didn’t answer.
Then she began searching for him in fear, all around the house.
“Tara!!!” Emilia heard a voice said to her while she was busy searching for him around the room.
As she turned back she saw that it was Ivar smiling at her.
“Mum you are so scared!” Ivar said laughing as Emilia stared at him with a non smiling face.
“Ivar you are hiding from me!?” Emilia asked as Ivar waves his head as he continue to laugh.
“Am so sorry” He said in an amusement.
“You think this is funny!? come here!” Emilia said as she grabbed him and lifted him to her arms gazing directly into his eyes.
“Don’t ever do that again, because if you do am gonna beat you up!” Emilia said pointing at him on his head while Ivar keep smiling at her.
“Mum, I was hungry” Ivar said as Emilia smiled at him and kissed him on his cheeks.
“Don’t worry, I have gone out to brought you something to eat, it’s almost your favorite though” Emilia said to him as he stared at her with his eyes widely opened.
“Almost? you mean it’s not actually my favorite but almost” Ivar asked as Emilia smiled and waved her head at him.
Then slowly keep him down on the couch then picked up the food where she left it in the table.
“Don’t worry, it’s very delicious and you gonna like it” Emilia said to him and he was gazing at her with a disgusting facial expression.
Until she untied, but while she was untying it, Ivar interrupted.
“Mum, it looks delicious though, but I just told you that I was hungry, I said, was, I mean…. I was…” Ivar said as Emilia stared at him confusedly trying to understand what he is trying to say.
“You was…? I know you were that’s exactly why I went to buy some foods for you” Emilia responded to him placing her hand on his cheeks as she smiled a little and then tried to open the food again.
“I said I was hungry, meaning am no longer hungry now… I mean, am not hungry any longer” Ivar said to her as she states at him with a stressed look on her face.
She believed that Ivar mist have been very hungry and was so much craving for food but she couldn’t make it back early to give him food, that’s why he must have been upset.
So Emilia first of all lifted him up from the couch and kept him on her laps.
“Look, am sorry about taking time to being food home, don’t worry, it won’t take this much time any longer, okay? you can’t starve yourself, you have to eat” Emilia pleads with him.
Though she’s not really understanding what Ivar is trying to say, she kept on miss understanding him.
“Mum, am not hungry… am trying to say…” As Ivar was attempting to explain better Emilia interrupted him.
“It’s okay Ivar, you should eat okay? just try some of the food okay? it’s not all, just test it a little” Emilia said to him.
And just like every other kid would agree, he agreed also.
So Emilia opened the food and gave him a spoonful of the rice.
“It’s delicious right?” Emilia asked with Smile and Ivar nodded at her.
“Of course, but have you eaten also? all am going to eat it all? it’s not fair” Ivar said as Emilia smiled almost with tea.rs.
“Of course it’s not, but that’s one thing you should always remember while growing up, responsibilities matters, no matter how the situation looks, you just have to try and making things right the way it’s supposed to” Emilia said and took another spoonful and gave him…
He kindly accepted it and began to chew while Emilia still continues lecturing him.
“Ivar, during this moment, I mean wh@tëver situation where you find yourself being the responsible one, never put yourself first, you have to put those that you care for at the first, and make yourself the second of not the last” Emilia said while Ivar keep gazing at nothing, as if he has something he’s thinking about.
“Are you okay?” Emilia asked him and gave him another food.
He tried to speak while eating but he actually can’t because the food is too much in his mouth, so he stayed calm waiting for him to finish chewing the food.
Same as Emilia who noticed that he is trying to say something to her held back from giving him more of food.
“Mum” Ivar said after eating and Emilia widens her eyes.
“Yes dear…” She said and cleaned up his oily mouth for him.
“So you mean right now, am the one you put at first? I mean your condition?” Ivar asked but Emilia was so weak to answer this question.
It was almost unanswerable, so after a minute silent, Emilia took her breath.
“I don’t worry my boy, it will be a talk for another day” Emilia said to him and Ivar nodded, just like he is always an easy kid, nothing stubborn about him.
That’s why he can truly be mum’s source of happiness.
“Mum, this foods tastes exactly like the other food” Ivar said leaving Emilia startled.
“Like the other food? what food are you talking about?” Emilia asked knowing so well that she didn’t remember giving him food since she left John’s home.
She had only bought him snacks to quench hunger, so what exactly is he talking about?
“I told you, I have eaten” Ivar said and Emilia came to remember what he meant by ‘I was hungry’
But she was shocked about who have given him food, but of course it could be no one other than Erica.
But Erica said she ain’t going to take care of Ivar so how come?
“Erica…? she’s at home and everywhere was silent?” Emilia said out of shock because if Erica is at home, she must have had noticed since.
“It wasn’t Erica who gave me the food” Ivar said to Emilia as she was walking away to see Erica to thank her at least for the food.
“It wasn’t Erica?! who did then!!?” Emilia reacted in fea.r and I’m shock and before she could know what’s going on, bl.ood is already rushing out of Ivar’s nose as he coll.apsed on the floor.
“Ivar!!! Jesus!” Emilia screamed with a great fear.
