It’s been four months since I and Jarden decided to part ways although we still see each other frequently because of the children and for some doctor’s appointments. We have just been trying to act like co-parents ever since.
I told Iris and Jon about Jarden being their father. Iris was so happy while Jon took time to adjust. I have tried my best to avoid anything that will bring harm to my child, this was the last one I was going to have.
” a boy?” I asked the doctor who nodded her head.
” wow” Jarden smiled still holding my hands.
” he looks healthier than the last time though “Doctor Frey said wiping the gel from my swollen belly. Thank God my baby was okay.
“Iris is so going to be pissed” I smiled at Jarden’s words from standing from the bed.
” be careful” Jarden says leaning his hands for support.
” thanks”.
We walked out of the hospital.
” so…uhm should we tell the kids now or?” He asks.
” if we tell them now Iris is not gonna get over it” I said and he laughed.
” but you can always console her since she loves you more now” I added.
“Look who’s jealous ” Jarden teased and I rolled my eyes.
” I’m Jon’s favourite so…”.
” says who?” He asks then opens the passenger door for me.
” you don’t have to do that for me”.
” no, I am just doing it for my son” Ouch!
Jarden dropped me home then went inside to see the kids.
” papa” Iris was the first to see us. She ran hugging her dad. Oh, I’m so jealous.
We all went to the sitting room, the kids sat in front of us. I wanted to tell them the news.
” it’s a baby girl right?” Jon asked rolling his eyes.
“How did you know that?”. I questioned smiling.
“Because Iris has blackmailed you, so… it’s obvious” I looked at Iris who was already smiling. Oh, Lord.
” sorry Iris but you both are having a baby brother ” Jon almost looked unconvinced. Instead, he stared at us with shock.
” You’re lying ” Jon disagreed.
” it’s a boy seriously ” I said then nugde Jarden who had been quiet.
” We checked today and Iris we are sorry we don’t get to choose the gender” Iris looked as if she was about to cry.
” I won you lost, remember we made a deal” Jon smiled devilishly.
” how many times have I warned you both to stop betting?”.
Jon kept on jumping with so much happiness.
“Mom, when am I gonna get a baby sister?” She asks before gesturing to rub my stomach. I looked at Jarden who was staring right back at me.
” soon” I smiled sadly.
” by the way where does baby come from?”
Urgh, not Jon again.
“Why can’t Dad stay with us?” Iris asked as Jarden was about to leave.
” well that’s because that has important things to do” I smiled pinching her cheeks softly.
” But I want us to spend time together today” she winced hugging Jarden. Jarden looked before looking at Iris.
” Mom, pretty plsssss” she pouted.
” Fine but he gets to stay in your room that’s final” Iris’s pout didn’t end there. What does she want now?
” No no I want us to sleep like one family, your bed is big enough so no excuses”. I looked at Jarden who looked as if he had just won a trophy.
” Count me in” Jon raised his hands smiling.
Do these kids expect me to sleep on the same bed as Jarden? Oh Lord please help me. Thank God the kids were going to be between us.
We walked into my bedroom, Iris and Jon quickly ran to the bed jumping on top of it.
” No no, you can’t do that” Jarden said and they both nodded before laying on the bed.
” Uhm can you use that to sleep or…..”.
” I will just use my boxer” Jarden smiled. His boxers? Oh Lord have mercy. I gulped when he pulled all his clothes.
” Mom, that’s disgusting” Jon’s voice brought me out of my fantasies. I looked at Jarden who had been smiling. Well, it’s not my fault that he looks sëxy.
Jarden lay down and Iris quickly went to lay beside him, Jon rolled his eyes before smiling at me.
” Come darling,” I said stretching my hands. He lay beside Iris but facing me. He slowly went down to the level of my Belly.
” Hey baby brother” he rubbed my stomach. Aw, this was so cute.
” Sleep well, I can’t wait for you to be here so we can play hide and seek without Iris”.
” That’s not fair” Iris turns to look at us whining.
” Who cares” Jon murmured. Jon kept on rubbing my stomach. Suddenly I felt a kick.
” He just kicked” I couldn’t help the excitement that was in my voice. Jarden jerked up immediately and then ran to my side.
” Do you mind if I raise your shirt?” Jarden asked as all of them were now looking at my stomach with so much excitement. I nodded then he raised my pyjama shirt. The contact of his hands on my naked belly sent shivers through my spine. He kicked again and they all started laughing.
” I love you buddy” Jarden said as his lips touched my stomach. In seeing this Iris and Jon started placing kisses on my stomach too.
He didn’t stop kicking, it was as if he was excited to hear his dad and siblings’ voices. This moment was so beautiful and I loved it.
We all slept off after the beautiful moment we had together. I had a very nice sleep.
The giggling of the kids woke me up from my sleep. The first the I heard after that was the clicking of cameras. Wt…..
My head was on top of Jarden’s chest and his hands were around my waist. And the kids were taking pictures of us.
” What are you both doing” I removed Jarden’s hand from my waist standing up.
” You looked cute” Iris said then Jon showed me the pictures they took.
” Not even funny” I took the phone from them and then checked the time.
” At 4 am?” I exclaimed. Jarden stood from the bed looking at us confused.
” What Happened?” Jarden asked.
” Your kids were taking pictures of us at 4 am”.
” At 4 am?” He asked and I nodded.
” Was I looking handsome?”. I hit my head in disappointment. This is so funny.
We all went back to sleep after all my complaints. Jarden who was supposed to act like an adult was acting just like his kids. Now I have to be the adult-only me…
The noises downstairs woke me up. Why were they noisy? I stood up and stretched a little bit. Before walking downstairs.
At first, I saw an extremely scared Iris then an angry-looking Jon. My eyes turned to the direction that they were looking, then I saw very angry Jarden and James Thompson. Oh, not this.
” You can’t see my kids anymore, take it or leave it” Jarden yelled.
” You don’t get to decide Jarden, the kids can make their decision”.
” They’re not even 18 yet so.. I’m their father”.
” What is all this about?” I asked as they walked in between them. I haven’t seen James in months, he has been on business trips and all that so he didn’t have the chance to come. He gasped when he saw my swollen Belly before looking at Jarden who was already smirking.
The kids were already dressed for school and it seemed they were having breakfast when James came.
” What are you doing here James” he seemed shocked when I called him his name but quickly changed his expression.
” I came to see you and my grandkids” I rolled my eyes at his words before walking to meet Iris and Jon.
” Go upstairs and sit there,” I said to them.
” But mom”. Jon tried to say.
” I said go upstairs and sit there now”. They ran upstairs then I walked back to meet James.
” Are you here to kill me now?” I asked but he didn’t reply.
” I don’t want to see you close to my kids anymore”.
” No pls Kiara, you can’t do that”.
” Well I can, the last time I checked I was their mother, I birthed them” James sighed before looking at Jarden.
” I didn’t kill your mother on purpose Jarden” James said. Those words seem to make Jarden angrier.
” Well tell that to her grave, not me”.
” I didn’t just kill her Kiara, I loved her a lot, I did, I know I cheated but I still love your mother Jarden”. I was finding it hard to believe so as Jarden.
” Just get out Dad”. James sighed deeply.
” I know she told me never to tell you this but I can’t hold the blame anymore, your h@të towards me is getting worse and I get that I was stupid for splitting you both I swear I regret it after finding out she was pregnant but just give me a chance to explain everything”.
” I don’t want to hear your explanation James just get out and…”
” Explain,” I said cutting Jarden short. Jarden looked at me with so much disbelief. He wanted to walk out but I held his hands stopping him.
” Okay… It’s started when Iris was born, I mean your sister”.
