THREE WEEKS LATER
Patrick got into Xavier’s room to check up on him,Dr Fernando and Matthew were present in the room
“How is he?” He looked at Dr Fernando and he sighed and shook his head
“Still no change,but everything is okay,I ran some tests and there’s nothing wrong,he just needs some rest” he took his brief case “I’ll be on my way now gentlemen” he said and left
Matthew stood up silently and left but Patrick pulled him back,he looked at Patrick’s hand on his and he got the message and let go
“Listen man,things don’t really have to be this way,what happened is in the past and it wasn’t my intention to—”
“To steal the love of my life from me? Yeah sure” he scoffed
“I didn’t want her to fall for me alright,I never saw her as more than a friend for God’s sake! She’s the one who didn’t listen and threw herself on me it ain’t my fault!”
“You—”
“Will you two cut it! You’re giving me a headache” a rough deep voice said behind them and they turned their heads
“Boss!” they said simultaneously and rushed to his side
“Thank god you’re finally awake” Patrick grinned from ear to ear
“We thought we lost you” Matthew chuckled
“How long was I out?” He groaned and sat up slowly
“Three Fuçkin weeks” Patrick laughed
“Where is she? Where is Catherine?” he looked at Matthew
“Sh…she…”
“She went out to the park for some fresh air” Patrick chipped in
“I want to be alone” he leaned back and shut his eyes
They nodded and went out
Xavier opened his eyes and searched for his phone,he spotted it on the nightstand and slowly reached for it.
He searched for Catherine’s number and called her but she was not picking it up,he tried a few times but still.
He got up slowly and groaned in pain, crutches were placed next to the bed and he took only one of them and limped downstairs
Nanny Diana was going upstairs with Catherine’s phone in hand when he saw Xavier slowly descending the stairs
“You’re awake! Ohh thank goodness” she smiled with a hint of excitement in her voice “You should’ve stayed in bed Cole” she scolded and held his other hand
“Nanny,how are you feeling?” he pecked her forehead and she smiled
“All better now that you’re awake,you scared us all” she laughed shortly and they went downstairs
When they reached the last stair case she handed him Catherine’s phone
“It has been ringing for quite sometime,I thought it might be important since the person wouldn’t stop calling,and I wanted to give it to Dora to answer it,you know I’m not good at these smartphones” she chuckled
“I was the one calling,I thought she left with her phone” he said and her mood changed “Nanny what is it?”
She cleared her throat “Nothing son,your mother was here earlier to check up on you,I should let her you’re awake she was worried about you” she said changing the subject
“Nanny..” he called her softly and looked at her “You know you can tell me anything right?”
“Alright,she has been spending quite some time with your brother,even earlier… he’s the one that picked her up…. I’m sure they went together, i’ve tried asking her about it but she said there’s nothing going on between the two of them …I didn’t want to get involved in all of this I’m old for goodness sake Cole” she held her waist and walked away “These kids want me to die with stress” she muttered under her breath
Xavier stood there for a while processing everything and he angrily walked outside faster ignoring the throbbing pain on his shoulder and his thigh
He was about to go to his car when he saw a familiar car drive in,he stopped and watched as Anderson parked the car and went to open the car door for Catherine
Xavier clenched his jaw when he saw how Anderson held her hand to help her get out of the car
Catherine got out of the car slowly while holding her baby bump that had grown a bit more
She was about to thank him when she saw Xavier glaring daggers at them
“You were saying?” Anderson got confused when she suddenly went mute and he slowly followed her gaze and when he spotted his brother his heart skipped a bit,he was scared but he masked it with a mocking smile “Come on” he snaked his hand behind her waist and she slapped his hand off and they walked towards him
“X…Xavier!” Tears of joy prickled in Catherine’s eyes and she didn’t know when she threw herself into his arms
Xavier groaned a bit and she let go immediately “I’m sorry,did I hurt you that much? Are you oka—”
“I’m fine,get in the house” he said bluntly and she hesitated and looked at him and Anderson “Get in the d@mn house! I won’t repeat myself” he glared at her and she swallowed hard and scurried into the house
“So you’re finally awake,from the dead?” Anderson smirked at him “And by the way thank you,for taking time to wake up” he put his hands in his pockets and leaned in closer “You gave my wife and I some time to,bond and catch up” he laughed
Xavier chuckled and looked at him “I’m back now,and you know what’s satisfying? That Catherine will always want my passion,what she just needed from you was… compassion,thanks for keeping my wife company” he smirked and Anderson frowned “Catherine will never want you” he limped closer “You know why Chico? You’re not even half of the man I am” he mocked “I’m what you call a,macho man” he added and turned back “Go home little brother and nurse your ego” he smiled and went into the house
Anderson clenched his fists and gritted his teeth and stormed off to his car

XUAN MANSION
“Great grandpa,can I call my mommy?” a little boy walked into Grandpa Paul’s study without knocking startling the old man who was dozing off on his seat
“Good gracious! You scared me you little nugget” he smiled and pulled the little boy’s cheek
“Sorry great grandpa,can I call mommy now please?” he gave grandpa Paul puppy eyes and he nodded
“Go find your aunt,tell her you want to call mommy” Grandpa Paul smiled at him sweetly and he nodded before running off
“Aunty! Aunty Lily!” the little boy chanted Millicent’s name as he ran around the house
He ran into the kitchen and bumped into Millicent
“Randy! What did I tell you about running around the house?” she scolded and squatted to his level
“I’m sorry aunty,I just wanted to call mommy and great grandpa told me to find you and I didn’t find you” he pouted
“Okay ,Tessa made some food for you …go eat first then we’ll call mommy afterwards okay?” she roughened his hair
He nodded and rushed to Tessa who immediately lifted him up and placed him on the counter
Millicent smiled at him
A lot had changed over the three weeks,the Xuan mansion became more lively since Tyson’s son,Randy stepped foot into it
Millicent helped Abigail find Tyson’s family as promised and they welcomed her and Randy warmly,but Randy didn’t live with them
During the search he bonded so well with Millicent that he decided to stay with her instead,his mom was a professional photographer who travelled on business from time to time and gladly left Randy in Millicent’s care.She treated him as her own and he was the light in her life
Millicent was thinking about Patrick when she suddenly bumped into Abigail
“Ohh hey! When did you arrive?” they embraced each other warmly
“Just now,I was with your mom… where’s that little cutie?” Abigail smiled
“He’s in the kitchen having his meal”
“Okay I’ll go to him now” she was about to go away when Millicent pulled her back
“Umm,can Randy sleep with you tonight? I’m going out with Patrick” she bit her lip
“So you finally agreed to be his girlfriend?” Abigail teased
“Well you know” she blushed and Abigail gushed
“I want to know everything when you get back!” she giggled and squealed
“Okay okay now go!” she laughed and Abigail winked at her before leaving

AT THE MALL
Sofie breathed out heavily and shoved the shopping bags in the backseat
Her baby bump was also growing the same as Catherine’s
She was wearing a loose dress with light sandals but still her feet were killing her
She closed the door and was about to get into the driver’s side when she spotted a rose and a note on the windscreen wiper
She furrowed her brows and took it
‘I’m sorry for leaving you -A’ the note read that way
“Anderson” she blushed and inhaled the sweet scent coming from the rose and got into the car and drove out of the parking lot
A figure got out of its hiding spot smiling mischievously
He wore his hoodie and shoved his hands into his pockets before walking away

WAREHOUSE
The doctor packed his things and was about to leave when he saw his patient move
He rushed to her side and watched her as she opened her eyes and shut them back for a moment
“You’re awake” he said and the girl looked at him
“Wh…where am I?” she looked around to capture her surroundings
“Somewhere safe” he listened to her heartbeat “perfect,now how many fingers can you see?” he waved a finger before her eyes
“One..” she looked at him
“And your name?” he took a file on the table and wrote something on it
“Jasmine..”
“Awesome,miss Jasmine I’m doctor George,how are you feeling?” he smiled warmly at her
“I..I can’t feel my legs” she muttered and he cleared his throat
“I’m sorry to tell you this miss Jasmine,but one bullet affected your spine,resulting in you not being able to walk again” he said lowly “But it’s not the end of the road,you can go to physiotherapy and—”
“What are the chances of me being able to walk again?” she looked at him with glassy eyes
“I’m afraid to say this but… the possibility is just 25%” he sighed
“I…I need to be alone please” she said in a hoarse voice
He nodded slowly and went out,he bumped into Sierra on his way out and pushed her out
“Why are you pushing me like that!?” she snapped at him
“She’s awake and needs sometime alone” he said softly
“Finally! I should tell boss right away” she was about to walk away and he pulled her back
“No don’t,not yet….let her be for now…we don’t know what Xavier will do to her when he gets here—”
“Are you falling for her!?” she retorted with jealousy laced in her voice
“You know I have eyes only on you” he smirked and pulled her by her waist and she blushed and bit her lip

XAVIER’S HOUSE
Xavier finally made it to the door of his room,his thigh was throbbing in pain and he groaned each step he took
He pushed the door open and Catherine sprang up to her feet
“Hi” she said nervously
He stared at her with darkened eyes and said nothing,he walked in and sat slowly on the couch
“I… Anderson and I finalised our divorce last week” she said playing with her fingers and adjusted her glasses
“Come here” he stared at her
She walked towards him slowly and stood before him,he suddenly pulled her closer and hugged her waist
She smiled and slowly held his head and he kissed her baby bump
“I missed you and I’m sorry about everything” she muttered and he held her tighter
“I’m mad at you but I’m still madly in love with you” he whispered and stared into her eyes
“I love you too” she smiled and he pulled her to sit on him
“Fuçk!” he groaned in pain
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you ” she quickly got up and he pulled her back
“Sit” he whispered and held her waist firmly “You’ve added more weight Mi amor,and I like it,you look cute with those chubby cheeks” he said huskily and she blushed and bit her lip
“I thought an escape of death will make you less flirty but you’re still such a flirt” she giggled
“And I can be as nasty as you want me to” he whispered into her ear and opened her legs wide in a swift and she gasped “Tell me,who touched what’s mine?” he snaked his fingers into her inner thighs
“N..No one” she stuttered breathlessly
“Good girl” he shifted her pant to the side and dug two of his fingers into her honeypot
She held her breath and gripped the hem of her dress tight
“Mõ@n for daddy Mi amor” he bit her earlobe
“X..Xavier ohh god” she Mõ@ned as he th-ru_sted his slender in and out fastly
“I love you,I love you so Fuçkin much!” he whispered with clenched teeth
“I love…ahhh!” she Mõ@ned louder when he added another finger and worked on her inside exploring it with her fingers
She felt a tight knot build up in her and soon enough she exploded on him and he snaked his other hand into her chest and held her Brë@št and pinched it lightly while th-ru_sting his fingers in and out in an incredible fast pace while she shook uncontrollably on him
He finally pulled his fingers out and she breathed hard and rested her head on his chest,he pecked her forehead gently.
“Xavier?”
“Hmm?” he looked at her
“Didn’t I hurt your wounds?” she looked at him
“I don’t feel anything when you’re with me, I’m numb and motionless to everything but not when it comes to losing you Mi amor” he muttered
“Okay” she chuckled and rested her head back on his chest
He squeezed her Brë@št “Milk jars” he teased and chuckled
“Stop it!” she giggled and slapped his hand off

XUAN MANSION
Sofie hummed as she wore her nightdress and sat in front of the mirror and tied her hair
Anderson walked into their room tiredly and threw his jacket on the bed
“Ohh you’re home early today!” she chuckled while staring at him through the mirror
“I had a long day please, don’t start” he loosened his tie
“Where were you exactly? Don’t tell me you were with Catherine,again!” she stood up and turned to him
“I was! Now please I just want to take a shower and go to bed” he was about to walk away and she dragged him back
“You didn’t even ask how my day was or if my wedding dress is ready or not” she frowned
“I gave you a credit card to do wh@tëver you want,what more do you want!?” he snapped
“I want you to be there for me! Our wedding is in two days and you seem not to care at all!” she snapped and tears prickled in her eyes
“Sofie please,not now I’m tired” he sighed tiredly
“I don’t understand you,one minute you’re there for me,one minute you just toss me aside,you even put a d@mn rose on my car!”
“I can’t do this right now,I don’t even know what you’re talking about” he walked away
“What do you mean?” she furrowed her brows
“I mean I didn’t send you anything,maybe your lover did or one of your Fuçk buddies” he hissed and shut the bathroom door
“He didn’t do it,then who did?” she questioned herself completely perplexed
